APW Presents: HORRORKORE 10/31/19 *COMPLETE*

While the ring and everything are still dark, the Jeopardy theme blast over the sound system, testing their equivalency was also playing out former ‘80s – ’90s washout, Red Trunks. He waves to an unsuspecting audience with Hulk Hogan enthusiasm. In route to the ring, he tries to drum up some cheers to which audience has few to give right now.

His dazzling entrance, albeit how slow and tame the crowd sounds as of now, yet the theme of the old Russian Soviet republic elicits boos from a largely Eastern European fan base. They also boo what appears to be a handler dress in a KGB overcoat and ushanka guiding a bear—one that is tame enough to it also has an ushanka on its furry dome.

Wisely, a referee stays outside while the bear somehow slips over the ropes. Red trunks is not alone though, as his superb family gathers below with Rocky VI intensity. He crams his fists together as Jessica Kaine grabs a mic along with her warm tea.

Jessica Kaine: Welcome to Horrokore… to get things started tonight, we’ll everyone to be their absolute loudest… can everyone manage that?

A mild yet hilarious response echoes back.

Jessica Kaine: Alright! So in the far corner, weighing in at 215 pounds… he is the patriarch of the Red Trunks family… give it up for Red! Trunks!

There some applause but also the silence of people instead just checking their phones for random shit.

Jessica Kaine: Next up… from the opposite corner weighing over 1,200 pounds… and accompanied by his loyal trainer, Peter Pretrovich… a Soviet bear!

Fans hurl trash into the ring, driving the bear into a frenzy. It swipes so hard that Red Trunks is knocked out on contact. It goes for the kill, when from the apron, all other members of his extended family leap into action. The bear catches them so fast that both younger men flounder and escape with their lives. The bear swoops in for the final kill getting cheap heat from the crowd… when a mysterious figure slides in from the opposite corner.

Jessica Kaine: Ladies and Gentlemen—he has a surprise entry! It’s Blue Trunks!

Red rises from the floor with dead man intensity, feeling a second wave. The beat does some manner of shuffle kick that knocks Red Trunks out cold again. Blue Trunks takes his chance to attack, but that goddamn bear was already waiting for him. Blue Trunks leaps for an aerial lariat—the bear grabs and full-on powerbombs the dumbass back to 1989. Its trainer and medical staff get the bear to the back with grandiose boos warming the crowd up for the big show to come.

Jessica Kaine: Let’s give it up Peter and his wrestling Soviet bear. We have a great show tonight, so please, hang tight and prepare for the best hardcore action you’ve ever seen!

Jessica exits the arena for some final makeup and hairdressing, all while medics assist bitter rivals red and blue trunks to the back for evaluation. Both men receive cheers from the crowd—mostly because they absolutely hated that asshole bear and its communist ways.

The HorrorKore banner hangs behind Troy Butler, looking fine as always, in his resplendent blue suit. He is standing next to a ladder, microphone in hand with his hair immaculately styled. Spartan walks into  scene by walking under the ladder and taps Troy on the shoulder. Spartan is still in his street clothes; black workout shorts, black workout muscle top, and black hat turned backwards. Of course, his glorious ginger beard is there for all to see. He was the Alpha Pro Wrestling Title belt strapped around his waist - where all proper champions wear their titles.

Troy: Hi Spartan.

Spartan: Troy, my man.

Troy: You seem excited today, Spartan.

Spartan: Truthfully I am, Troy. See, today - I actually get to defend this title.

Spartan taps the faceplate of the title belt.

Spartan: From the day I won this title, I've been calling for someone, anyone to step forward to challenge and lay claim to the title. To give the belt the respect it deserves. To give the belt the respect that it didn't receive when Road Dawg was Champion. And today, Troy. Today, I not only get to fight Steve Osbourne to defend this title. I get to find out who my number one contender will be for OMEGA. Yeh. I'm psyched.

Troy: You're not worried?

Spartan: Worried about what, Troy?

Troy: Well, you did just walk here in under that ladder. You're not superstitious then I take it.

Spartan: Troy, let me level with ya. Superstitions are for little old ladies with too many cats and toddlers who've eaten too much candy. 

Troy: So you don't think Osbourne can beat you?

Spartan: He can beat me, Troy. That's the thing - be he won't. I won't allow him to. And no ladder, black cat or broken mirror will stop me.  It's not about luck tonight. It's about being ready for anything. And let me tell ya, Troy. I am ready to beat Steven Osbourne. I am pumped to fight him - no matter how he got the shot. And I am ready to knock him back down too.

Troy: Strong words, Spartan. Do you have a preference as to who you want to face out of the match between Zombie McMorris and Voshon Jackson, if you win tonight.

Spartan: I will win, Troy. And honestly, I don't care who my top contender is. I just want someone who brings the fight. YEH!

Spartan looks at Troy Butler and gives him a playful punch in the shoulder before exiting the scene by walking under the same ladder than he entered.

Troy: I'm Troy Butler and that was the APW North American Champion - Spartan.

Troy Butler walks off rubbing the arm where Spartan punched him, leaving only the ladder and the HorrorKore sign.

Buried Alive Casket Match

Junior Heavyweight Title

Tsukiko vs Jaice Wilds (c)

Jaice Wilds and Tsukiko are already in the ring, each in their respective corners, gazing at each other in grim determination. At ringside, an open casket sits beside a freshly dug grave and a mound of dirt. The referee lifts the Junior Heavyweight Title high to the crowd, then signals for the bell.

Clearwater: Of all the hardcore variants on display here tonight, this may not be the most brutal, but it could be the most psychologically damaging. In order to win, one competitor has to incapacitate the other enough to put them inside a casket AND bury the casket to the official’s satisfaction!

Remi: Give me any other match, bro! I don’t even like small spaces, but a casket in the ground? No way, dude. Not even for a title.

Tsukiko takes an early lead, going on an all-out offensive against the Final General. Strikes and kicks in rapid succession wear him down, but not enough to keep him from retaliating. All he needs is one good shot, and when he lands a bicycle kick, he gets his opportunity. Wilds springboards off the ropes into a moonsault that puts Tsukiko on the mat. Wilds follows up with a legdrop, but Tsu sees it coming and gets out of the way. She leaps back up and goes after him with a knee; Wilds blocks and brings up a knee of his own, sending her crashing down once more.

Clearwater: Both these competitors hitting hard and fast, but they can’t keep that pace going long, especially not if one of them is going to have to get the other into that casket!

Remi: Dude, hard and fast is the only way these two know how to go at it! Tsukiko especially. She can hit me hard and fast any day, if you know what I mean!

Clearwater: Completely inappropriate, Remi! Tsukiko on the ropes now, and she’s airborne! Jaice catches her and tries to slam her down to the mat, but the wily fox Tsukiko reverses and sends Jaice stumbling into the corner!

Tsukiko follows up with a combination of kicks and knees, then climbs up and lands an elbow on Jaice from above. She uses her momentum to monkey flip him back toward the middle of the ring, then ascends the turnbuckle again. The Shimmering Kitsune calls out to the crowd in Japanese, points at Wilds, and leaps into the air with a half-twist somersault, landing squarely on top of Wilds.

Remi: Wilds has taken a lot of abuse in these first few minutes, and it looks like Tsukiko has the advantage right now! But can she capitalize?

Tsukiko starts dragging the semi-conscious Wilds toward the side of the ring, where the casket waits. Jaice regains his senses as they approach the edge of the canvas and fights his way out of her grip. He takes her wrist and throws on a quick armbar, now pulling Tsukiko nearer and nearer to the casket. She plants her feet, but can’t quite halt their progress. Jaice shifts his hold to lift her up, and that’s when Tsukiko strikes! She lashes out with a foot and makes contact with Wilds’ knee, forcing him to release her as he staggers into the ropes. Tsukiko runs across the ring, rebounds off the opposite ropes, and hits a dropkick that spills Wilds halfway to the outside. She backs off and tries again.

Clearwater: Tsukiko rebounds one more time! This could be it!

Remi: DENIED! Wilds moves at the last possible second! Tsukiko goes right through the ropes and into the casket! She’s in real trouble now!

Quickly, Wilds hops out and slams the casket lid closed on his opponent, but Tsukiko immediately kicks it open again, hitting him right in the face!

Clearwater: OH! That can’t feel good! Casket lid to the face, and Wilds is busted open!

He staggers back, nearly falling into the open grave. Shaking it off, Wilds moves away from the edge of the gaping hole in the ground, and is promptly caught by Tsukiko. A missile dropkick off the casket sends Wilds crashing into the crowd barrier!

Remi: Tsukiko on fire tonight! On the apron, waiting for Wilds to get back to his feet -- hurricanrana off the ring apron!

Clearwater: But Wilds catches her and reverses! Now it’s Tsukiko on the ringside mats and Wilds with the advantage!

Jaice pulls Tsukiko to her feet and whips her against the ring apron. He rushes in for an enzuigiri to follow up, but Tsukiko ducks and he rams his knee into the edge of the ring instead! Limping a little, but far from out of the game, Jaice stays on offense. He whips Tsukiko against the crowd barrier. Tsukiko struggles to keep herself upright. Wilds climbs onto the apron now, looking to go airborne -- and dives off, just as Tsukiko slides the casket right into the way! He crashes into the open casket and now it’s the Kitsune’s turn to try and shut the lid.

Remi: Tsukiko trying to get that lid down, but Wilds isn’t having it!

Wilds shoves the lid back open, hops to his feet, and leaps out of the coffin, tackling Tsukiko down to the ringside mats. He snakes an arm across her neck.

Clearwater: Jaice Wilds with a sleeper hold, and if he locks it in, this could be over for the challenger!

The Shimmering Kitsune claws at his arm, struggling against Wilds’ grip, to no avail.

Remi: He’s got it locked in, and Tsukiko looks to be fading fast!

Her struggles weaken progressively. With one last flail of her arms, Tsukiko slumps forward in Wilds’ arms. He keeps the hold on one moment longer, then lifts her up and slams her down into the casket. Tired and in a hurry, Wilds shoves the casket into the hole and looks around for a shovel.

Clearwater: It looks like Wilds is going to retain tonight in Chernobyl, but Tsukiko gave it her -- WAIT!

Remi: DUDE! The fox was playing possum!

All at once, Tsukiko launches herself out of the casket and perches nimbly at the edge of the grave. Jaice turns around, shovel in hand -- just in time to catch a running knee to the face!

Clearwater: MOONBREAKER!

He staggers backward under the force of the hit. Tsukiko grabs his arm and slings him around so he’s between her and the hole in the ground, then follows up with a superkick that sends him into the casket. The impact slams the lid shut. Picking up the discarded shovel, Tsukiko begins shoveling dirt on top of the coffin, with the referee nearby, watching intently. A muffled banging comes from within the casket as she continues filling in the hole, until, at last, the ref signals for the bell.

Jessica Kaine: The winner of this match -- and your NEW APW Junior Heavyweight Champion -- TSUKIKO!!!!

The fans pop big as “We Are” by Aldious hits the speakers, and the official slips the belt into Tsukiko’s waiting arms. She climbs back into the ring to celebrate, ascending the nearest turnbuckle to hold the belt up high to the crowd. Meanwhile, a team of workers digs Wilds out of the temporary grave.

Remi: That’s my girl! She outfoxed the Xtreme Aerialist to become a two-time Junior Heavyweight Champion!

Clearwater: Following in the footsteps of another two-time Junior Heavyweight Champ, Steven Osbourne -- competing against Spartan for the North American Title, coming up next!

Zombie Lumberjack Match

“DotCom Mogul” Zion Simmons vs Smith Jones ©

HorrorKore returns to a panning shot of the ringside area. Crowd barriers have been replaced by nine-foot high fence topped with razor wire. Black and yellow biohazard signs flank the gate opening from the entrance aisle. Men in riot gear stand ready at the entrance as “White Dude” by Lil Dicky hits the speakers.

Clearwater: It’s time at last for tonight’s co-main event. The World Title. Two men. Two dozen walking dead.

Remi: That’s why the crowd barrier has been reinforced and there are guards on standby, just in case any of the zombie-dudes are tempted to go after the fans!

Jessica Kaine: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! The following is a lumberjack match, scheduled for ONE FALL and is for the Alpha Pro Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first, the challenger...

Zion Simmons appears on stage -- his faithful assistant, Sophie, at his side with a tablet in hand -- and she follows along as he dances his way down the aisle. Fans stretch hands out toward him, trying to reach out and touch the popular young billionaire. He deftly avoids them, while Sophie swats away the outstretched fingers of others.

Jessica: From Eugene, Oregon, he is the EdgeBoi Extraordinnaire, the DotCom Mogul -- ZIOOONNN SIMMONS!!!!

Simmons climbs up the steel steps and makes a show of mockingly wiping his feet on the ring apron as Sophie parts the ropes for him. He steps through and parades cockily around the canvas, finally ascending a turnbuckle and making a “ghost belt” motion across his waist while his assistant retreats outside the perimeter of the protective fence.

Clearwater: Zion Simmons looks fired up tonight!

Remi: You can say that again, Mikey-bro! He’s gonna give Smith Jones a hell of a run for his money here in Chernobyl, that’s for sure!

The opening guitar riff from Linkin Park's ‘Waiting For The End’ plays, followed by that haunting double piano note as all of the lights in the arena blast to full white. The lights start to slowly fade to darkness as every spotlight in the joint floods the entranceway with bright white light. Smith Jones comes out onto the stage dressed in a shiny white robe with sparkly silver trim. The World Title is securely fastened around his waist. Jones stops at the top of the ramp and looks out across the crowd as many of them chant "I'm right here! I'm right here! I'm right here!"

Ring Announcer Jessica Kaine: And his opponent, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada... weighing in at two hundred twenty-nine pounds... he is your APW World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion... there is only one... SMITH JONES!!!

Smith strides confidently down to ringside. He mounts the steel ring steps and wipes his feet respectfully on the ring apron before parting the ropes and taking centre. He steps forward to towards the ropes and removes his championship belt, hanging it from the top rope and snapping it in place. He raises his right fist in the air and looks up at it. Smith opens his hand and spreads his fingers out wide as he lets go of everything outside the ring and focuses on the fight before him. Jones removes his robe and hands it to ringside before stretching up for the match. The referee unsnaps The World Title belt and removes it from the top rope, handing it to the timekeeper. Smith sports that signature stone scowl that says everything is not going to be okay for his opponent.

Clearwater: But Jones is champ for a reason, and after the way his match with Dean Wolf ended, he’ll surely be bringing it harder than ever before!

Remi: Especially since this is, in fact, a hardcore match! He may hate the style, but it’s absolutely to his advantage tonight!

Next, prodded along by more riot gear clad security, a line of groaning zombies marches down the aisle, slowing now and again to snap at a fan who gets too close. The guards manage to herd the group down and corral them inside the protective barrier, before they slam shut the gates. The zombies mill around the ring, gazing hungrily up at the two competitors and the referee.

Clearwater: Am I ever glad we’re on this side of that fence! Those zombies look hungry and I don’t think cocaine will help with these guys!

Remi: Dude, for real, though! These are some seriously undead bastards! Except that one, just kinda standing there. He looks -- kinda familiar, actually.

Clearwater: Nevermind that now! The match is underway!

Remi: Zion on the offense right away with a big right hand that stuns Jones long enough for Simmons to hit the ropes! Simmons with a bulldog! The Champ is down!

Clearwater: Jones leaps back up to his feet and walks right into a Helluva kick by the challenger!

Remi: But Jones had that scouted and ducks at the last second! Smith slowing the pace down now! He grabs for Simmons and puts a wristlock on him! Simmons struggling, but to no effect! The champ transitions to an arm wrench and Simmons is in obvious pain!

Jones wrenches the arm of Zion Simmons as hard as he can, forcing the DotCom Mogul to his knees. But Zion twists his way out of the hold and escapes, delivering a knee to Jones’ gut as he regains his feet! Sensing an opening, the zombies start climbing into the ring -- only to be swiftly pushed back by guards armed with electric cattle prods.

Clearwater: These Walkers don’t seem to understand the concept of a lumberjack match -- they’re ready to attack now!

Remi: Jones takes advantage of the distraction and nails Simmons with a standing dropkick! Cover!

ONE!

Clearwater: And a kickout at one! Simmons back to his feet but Jones is relentless! The champ hauls the challenger to his feet and lifts him up -- then slams him back down with a Northern Lights suplex!

Remi: He’s not going for the pinfall attempt this time! What does Smith Jones have in mind?

Clearwater: Going for another suplex, a pumphandle this time -- but Zion fights his way out of it! Simmons with an Irish whip to the corner! Rushing in with a knee to the gut, that didn’t do Smith any favors!

Remi: A second knee! And now he’s setting a dazed Jones up for that Olympic slam neckbreaker!

Clearwater: JONES IS DOWN! Zion Simmons made him green with that wicked combo and now he’s lifting the champ up high! What is he doing?

Simmons dumps Jones over the top rope and into the waiting arms of the horde of undead. Outside the perimeter, Sophie furiously taps something on her tablet. One of the zombies clears a path and grabs Smith Jones himself, putting the champ’s head between his legs!

Remi: That zombie, I recognize him now! That’s former WCF Superstar Jason Slasher -- but he died back in 2017!

Clearwater: Well, he’s here now -- better known as Test Subject 13 -- and setting the champ up for a piledriver! WAIT! Jones is rallying back!

Smith Jones wraps his arms around the zombie’s legs and lifts straight up, dumping him over his back and onto the ringside mats. Uninterested in one of their own, the others back off slightly, then turn their attention to Jones. One of the zombies makes a lunge for the champ. Jones grabs the zombie instead and nails it with a DDT before hopping back up onto the ring apron and out of immediate reach!

Remi: Close call for the champ! But Zion better watch out!

Simmons is busy showing off for the fans, pleased with himself at having dropped his opponent into the arms of the undead lumberjacks. Jones creeps up behind Simmons and wraps him up with a dragon sleeper!

Clearwater: Dragon sleeper on an unsuspecting Zion Simmons! That’s what he gets for getting cocky!

Test Subject 13 slips in under the ropes and puts a hand on Jones’ shoulder, spinning him around into a superman punch! But Jones moves and Simmons eats the full force of it instead! Jones drops the stunned Simmons and rushes at the interfering zombie, then drops him with a snap suplex!

Remi: This match has become a handicap, with the interference of Test Subject 13!

Jones turns his attention to Simmons, still reeling from that big punch. Smith locks in a full Nelson, hefts his opponent overhead, and suplexes him against the middle turnbuckle!

Clearwater: SLEEP PARALYSIS! And Simmons very well could be paralyzed from that, at least temporarily!

Already, the undead lumberjacks are reaching for Zion Simmons, pulling his limp form out of the ring. Smith watches impassively. Outside the barrier, Sophie is frantically typing away at the tablet again; Test Subject 13 springs back to life and rushes toward the ropes, vaults over the top and suicide dives onto the horde of undead, sending them crashing to the mats!

Remi: Slasher just saved Zion Simmons from being torn apart by those walkers! Now he’s rolling Simmons back into the ring!

Clearwater: Right into the path of a waiting Smith Jones! European Uppercut sends Simmons back down!

Remi: And Thirteen back in the ring again! He’s going after Jones and giving Simmons the opportunity to recover from that devastating uppercut!

The DotCom Mogul takes a moment to catch his breath as he pulls himself upright on the ropes. Rotting fingers brush against the heels of his wrestling boots as the zombie-lumberjacks reach for him in the hopes of an easy meal. He kicks the hands and knocks one off entirely, sending it flying over the top of the barrier fence, where it lands in the lap of some unlucky fan!

Clearwater: Here comes Zion! Off the ropes with a springboard blockbuster to a distracted Smith Jones! And a cover!

Remi: NEW CHAM-- NO! Smith Jones kicked out just before the three! The shark smells blood in the water, and Zion isn’t about to let up now! Scoop slam to Smith Jones! Another cover!

ONE!

TWO!!

Clearwater: Smith Jones gets the shoulder up!

The lumberjacks launch another assault on the ring, distracting Simmons from following up again. Slasher tries to protect him, but is overwhelmed by the numbers, as the riot squad wade in, cattle prods flashing without regard to what they hit. Jones regains a vertical base and stalks Zion. Jones attacks, but Zion turns around and catches him!

Remi: Simmons with the upper hand again, and this could be it for the champ! Zion looking to set him up for a suplex of his own -- but Jones fights his way out! He lands behind the challenger!

Clearwater: Here come those knees! Backstabber!

Remi: POINT OF CONTROVERSY! Jones hooks the leg!

ONE!

TWO --

Clearwater: THIRTEEN JUST BROKE UP THE PINFALL!

Test Subject 13 shoves Zion out of the way and pulls the champ to his feet. A knee bends Jones over as the zombie Jason Slasher underhooks both arms. He lifts -- and Jones shifts his body weight just enough to throw off Slasher’s momentum! Both men crash to the canvas! Jones is on his feet again in an instant, and so is Slasher, coming at Jones like the Terminator! Slasher rushes Jones! Jones responds with a dropkick right to Slasher’s face!

Remi: The champ fighting off Test Subject 13, but here comes Simmons again!

Clearwater: Spinning back kick from Simmons!

Remi: Following up with a belly-to-belly -- WAIT! Jones elbows Simmons over and over until Zion drops him! But can he capitalize?

Clearwater: Both men are absolutely worn out here tonight, and Jones has been fighting this as a handicap match with the continual interference by Test Subject 13!

Remi: Not to mention the lumberjacks charging the ring every chance they get!

Zion Simmons and Smith Jones are on opposite sides of the ring, each clinging to the ropes for support as they eye each other warily. Simmons catches his breath first and stalks Jones. Jones stands up straight, moving cautiously toward his opponent. Suddenly, Simmons breaks into a run and tries to clothesline Smith Jones in the middle of the ring! Jones ducks, but catches Simmons around the waist, looking for a suplex! Simmons fights his way out of Jones’ hold, drops behind him, and locks in a waistlock!

Clearwater: Simmons looking to put this away now, but Jones isn’t done yet!

Simmons lifts Jones, but Jones pries his fingers off and lands on his feet immediately behind the DotCom Mogul! Without waiting, Jones leaps up to deliver another backstabber!

Remi: POINT OF CONTROVERSY! AGAIN! Jones with the cover!

Jessica Kaine: The winner of this match -- and STILL YOUR APW World Heavyweight Champion -- SMITH JONES!!!!

Linkin Park’s “Waiting for the End” thunders across the stadium to a massive pop from the crowd as the zombies are rounded up and led away. The referee retrieves the World Title and places it in the waiting hands of Smith Jones, who lifts the belt high for the fans to see.

Clearwater: That was one hotly contested bout, and those lumberjacks only made it that much harder on both competitors!

Remi: It absolutely did. Win or lose, there’s no shame for either man in this match -- and I have the feeling Smith Jones hasn’t heard the last of Zion Simmons!
