A drone camera pans across the eighteen-thousand strong crowd of Alpha Pro Wrestling fans, all of them cheering wildly in anticipation of the upcoming match.

Mike Clearwater: Ladies and gentlemen, this is the moment so many of you have been waiting for! For weeks, these two men have been at each other's throats. Former Hardcore Champion Dean Wolf felt that his title defense was compromised by the intense head games of Zombie McMorris and has demanded a chance to set things right! Spartan accepted, and the contender, Big Bad Bodacious agreed to postpone his own shot -- but sent a powerful message of his own: whoever wins this match has to face a vengeful Golden Bull!

St. Remi: That about sums it up, bro! The former champ did deserve his rematch, and I have to agree that it should be contested one on one -- but I wouldn't want to be the guy locking horns with Big Bad Bodacious next month!

Mike Clearwater: Neither would I, Remi. So...without further ado, let's get this party started!

”SO SEEK THE WOLF IN THYSELF!”

The driving riff of Metallica's "Of Wolf and Man" thunders through the arena to a wild cheer from the fans.

Jessica Kaine: Ladies and gentlemen! The following match is scheduled for ONE FALL and is contested under Hardcore rules! First to the ring, the challenger!! From wherever he may roam weighing in at 228 pounds, Dean Wolf!

Dean Wolf marches down the aisle like Steve Austin. When he enters the ring, he walks to every side of the ring, holding up his right arm, where he shows off the tattoo on the underside of his forearm which reads "Seek the wolf in thyself."

"Unstoppable" by For the Fallen Dreams hits the speakers to another huge pop from the crowd. Strobes flash and flare, at last settling on the entrance to reveal the hulking form of Spartan, Hardcore Title slung over his shoulder.

Jessica Kaine: And his opponent! From Los Angeles, California; weighing in at 265 pounds -- he is YOUR APW Hardcore Champion -- SPARTAN!!!!

The champ paces to the edge of the stage and lifts the belt high overhead as the fans go nuts! He stalks down the aisle, letting the fans reach out toward him, touch him, without reacting. Spartan climbs the ring steps and slips through the ropes, holding the Hardcore strap up one more time before handing it off to the referee, who parades it around the ring before signaling for the bell.

DING DING DING!

Look at the fire in his eyes.

As Spartan circled Dean Wolf in the ring. He could see it burning behind his eyes. He couldn’t exactly whether the fire was rage, or passion or something else altogether. But it was there burning like the spires of Notre Dame. Spartan knew Wolf had made no secret of wanting to regain the Hardcore Title from him after the events of Alpha Showdown. He could see it behind those eyes. It was burning. Spartan and Wolf continued to circle each other like two lions ready to battle of the leadership of the pride.

To be Alpha Male.

Spartan knew that his hardcore match was going to about match once Ascension came to a close. On the dirt sheets, on the internet forums. He knew this match was going to be talked about because the man that he was circling right now wanted a war to regain what he felt was rightfully his. And he was going to do everything within his power to retain what he had earned at Alpha Showdown.

The Alpha Pro Wrestling Hardcore Championship.

The war that was about to unfold was going to be hell.

Maybe that’s the fire.

Wolf feints a move towards Spartan who flinches, the action brings a wry smile to face of challenger.

I’ve shown a weakness.

Spartan lunges back to reassert his authority after a moment of weakness. Wolf flinches.

Cat and mouse.

Spartan himself smiles back at Wolf as the men continue to slow dance with each other before they unleash hell upon each other.

This is what he wants.

This is I want I want.

I see it - I feel it.

Spartan watches Wolf carefully never letting his eyes waver from his opponent, lest he fall victim to the first strike.

Tonight, he has no distractions - no one to get inside his head.

Tonight, I prove that Alpha Showdown was not beginner’s luck.

That will be hard - Wolf seeks the Hardcore Title the way Gollum seeks the One Ring. He will go through the same fire to get his prize. And Spartan, knew he was going to be the one to stop him. He had to - if he didn’t he was going to be known as a former champion. He didn’t want that yet - that was why he took a step closer to Wolf. He was closing the gap.

Respect.

Spartan stops moving. Wolf stops moving and both men stare at each other - in Spartan’s mind this was eternity. In reality, it was no more than a mere few seconds. Spartan extends his right fist as acknowledgement of respect of his opponent.

Is this a mistake?

Spartan stands fist extended waiting for Wolf’s response to his show of sportsmanship.

Take it?

Spartan swallows hard anticipating Wolf’s reaction.

We fighting?

Wolf watches Spartan with his burning eyes.

What is he doing?

What is he thinking?

Wolf gives Spartan the middle finger instead.

Crowd: Ooooo!

Spartan glares at Wolf.

That's for comparing me to ZMAC on Metal last week, douchebag.

Spartan puts his hand down and goes for a leg kick, but Wolf avoids it.

Whatever. It’s my fault, anyway. I’m the one that keeps bringing up that piece of shit’s name.

Putting too much of my thoughts into that guy is what cost me the Hardcore Title in the first place. You’d think I would have learned my lesson by totally blocking him out, but for some reason, I keep bringing him up. I’m done. No more talking about him. No more thinking about him. It’s not about ZMAC anymore.

Wolf stares at the Hardcore Title being held by the ring attendant on the outside.

It’s about that.

Spartan sees that Wolf is temporarily distracted and goes for a roundhouse kick, but Wolf ducks and looks back at this opponent.

And about this motherfucker.

They circle each other again.

Spartan’s the one that took my Hardcore Title from me. Spartan is the one that pinned my shoulders to the mat. Spartan is the man I’ve thought about 24/7 since Alpha Showdown. Spartan has been the focus of my hatred and jealousy.

I’m supposed to be the one who walked into this arena with the Hardcore Title around my waist. I was supposed to be the standard for all future Hardcore Champions. I was suppose to make the first ever Hardcore Title reign legendary. It wasn't supposed to be just some fifteen day honeymoon.

I won that title in epic fashion. I outlasted half the APW roster, including the current World Champion. I brought the fight out onto Pacific Avenue and into a strip club. I was brought across the country and fought for my life in Nevada. I went through all of that to become the champion, only to let my own mind get in the way of defending it. Now I’m the challenger.

I’m not saying that Sparto over here didn’t deserve to win the title. What I’m saying is that it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.
This was not the way it was supposed to be but it’s the way things are.

I’m going to change all of that right now. There’s nobody in my way. There’s no third wheel. It’s just me and Spartan, and we’re going to see who truly is the best between he and I.

There won’t be any apologies tonight. There won’t be any remorse. I won’t be seeking redemption when this match is done. Whatever happens happens.

The ref implores the two to engage.

There’s only one acceptable outcome for tonight.

Wolf lunges at Spartan.

And that outcome is me standing in the middle of the ring, holding my Hardcore Title again while I look down on Spartan’s unconscious and bloody body.

Spartan artfully dodges Wolf's lunge with a side step and hip sway that would Mikhail Baryshnikov jealous.

He's hungry.

Look at him burning with desire for this match. He wants that title.

Spartan points at the Hardcore Title currently in possession of a ringside attendant and slaps his chest as if to indicate that it his title. The rage and jealousy burns through the pupils of Wolf's eyes. Wolf swings wildly like a drunken brawler and Spartan dodges the blow comfortably and smiles at Wolf.

All month he has claimed he wants no distractions. But look at him - he is so distracted by his desire to win back the hardcore title he is more blinded than he was by McMorris at Alpha Showdown. But it's only me and him in this ring and wherever we may roam.

He is more dangerous now than he ever was before. He is like a hungry lion that see a fallen child in it's enclosure.

He sees my as a meal.

I will not be a meal.

Do I goad him? Do I see that anger boil?

No.

That's not me.

I am here for the challenge.

The fight.

No need to mock him.

Leave that for the circus clowns.

I won't mock him. But I tried to be an ally, well he rejected that with a middle finger all because of that hardcore title. I'm sure if this was another time we would possibly be on the same team. But, then again, he strikes as someone that likes to go it alone. Probably why he chose the moniker "Wolf" to replace his birth name. But, if wants to make this personal because he is afraid of his lost glory and not living up to his own hype then I will make this a fight. I will kick, gouge, fish hook, bite and basically do whatever I have to prove to Dean Wolf that I am the better man.

Twice.

If he finds away to overcome that

Then he was the better man.

Tonight.

Only.

Tonight.

Spartan stops circling Wolf, who in turn stops circling Spartan. The crowd is baying for blood as these two warriors size each other up, intent on making the other the prey while they remain the predator. The tension is thick and our referee is insistent that these two fight. Go to war, so to speak. Spartan smirks, he extends his first as if to ask for a fist bump again, but before Wolf can respond, he extends the middle finger.

Crowd: OOOOOOOO!

Wolf rages with anger. Spartan drops to the canvas and rolls out of the ring and starts walking to back. Halfway up the ramp, Spartan turns to Wolf and motions for him to 'come hither' with his hand.

The crowd roars.

Crowd: FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!

Wolf laughs to himself.

He wants to give me the finger? We wants to start this thing in the aisle? Good. I'm glad he's finally getting into the spirit of this thing. Fuck that fist bumping shit. The time to show respect is before and after the match. Between the bells, the only thing on my mind is beating this piece of shit's head in. Speaking of which...

Wolf hops outside the ring and yells for the ring attendant to stand up. Wolf seizes his chair and folds it up. The crowd approves.

Mike Clearwater: Wolf isn't going down that aisle without a weapon!

Wolf starts marching towards Spartan.

Maybe using a chair isn't the most creative thing to some people, but to me, it's very poetic.

He thinks back to Alpha Showdown. He remembers being lifted onto Spartan's shoulders, being spun like a helicopter propeller, and crashing face first onto a steel chair. The lights went off in his head and when they were turned back on, he could see Spartan at the top of the aisle, roaring like the warriors of antiquity and holding the Hardcore Title in the air.

Now that same man that had beaten Wolf so decisively is standing in the aisle, arrogantly motioning for Wolf to come and engage him in combat.

I can see it on his face. He thinks he has this thing in the bag. He thinks he's got my number. He thinks he can count on me getting inside my own head so that he can swoop in and pick up the victory like last time. Well, I want to know how well he's going to be able to count once I take this chair and bash his skull in over and over and over again. He wants to think in numbers? How about 100 billion? That's the amount of brain cells he's going to have to subtract from once I start crushing this steel over his dense, meathead cranium.

Wolf starts fantasizing about the damage he'll do as he gets closer and closer to the Hardcore Champ.

Wham!

There goes 100,000.

Wham!

There goes another 100,000.

Wham!

There goes his use of speech.

Wham!

There goes his motor functions.

Wham!

Somebody's going to have to wipe his ass for him.

He stops ten feet from Spartan and laughs again.

Yeah. I'm going to have fun with this.

He taps the chair on the ground like a batter tapping his bat on home plate. He plays a familiar tune in his head as he prepares to swing away.

Dean Wolf: CHARGE!!!

Spartan gets a confused look on his face, but quickly snaps out of it as Wolf dashes towards him and takes a big swing. Spartan rolls forward and avoids permanent damage to his brain. He gets back to his feet and Wolf wastes no time taking another swing. Spartan evades it again.

Two swings. Two misses. Fuck it.

The third time, Wolf throws the chair right at Spartan's head.

Spartan just manages to get his right arm up just in time to deflect the chair away from his face as it was flying through the air. Unfortunately, he has taken the blow right on the point of the arm.

Fuck. That. Hurts. I can’t show Wolf weakness. If I do he will smell it the way a shark smells blood in the water and rip me apart.

Offensive. Get on the offensive.

After deflecting the chair, Spartan looks at Wolf right in his hungry eyes. Both men know.

Wolf charges.

Spartan charges.

Crowd: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!!!

Both both collide with each other are wilding swinging haymakers as the adrenaline surges through the bodies. Neither man is really connecting with their swinging fists of fury. Each striking with glancing blows until Wolf nails Spartan with an elbow on the nose after his fist missed. The blow staggers the champion.

As Spartan takes a single step backwards to gather himself after the shot to the face. That momentary lapse allows Wolf to seize upon the moment. Wolf tackles Spartan down onto the unforgiving steel of the rampway and starts unloading fist after fist into the face of the man with the ginger beard.

The speed and power of the strikes opens up the brow above the right eye of Spartan.

The blood flows.

The thunderous rain of blows upon the face of Spartan, pauses just briefly. Spartan, despite his predicament pushes Wolf off him.

Wolf is on his knees looking at Spartan bleeding.

Spartan wipes his face and looks at the blood on his hand. And then at Wolf’s smiling crazy face. In an act of defiance, Spartan wipes his own blood across his chest and stands at the same time that Wolf does.

Wolf charges, ready to maim once more, but Spartan gets underneath him and uses Wolf’s momentum to throw him over his shoulder with a belly to belly release suplex leaving Wolf to crash down back first onto the steel.

Fucker. He got me good.

Spartan wipes the blood out of his vision and finds the chair that Wolf brought to the fight. He picks said chair up and goes after his challenger. Spartan attempts to bring the chair down onto the head of his fallen foe, but Wolf is able to roll out of the way. Spartan takes a step closer and swings down again and misses again. The clash of steel on steel reverberating through his hands.

Stay still.

Spartan steps again, but Wolf sweep his feet out from under him sending him staggering backwards. He drops the chair as he regains his balance.

With both men on their feet, they stare at the weapon in front of them. Wolf makes a move for the chair. But Spartan makes a move for Wolf. He grabs his head and punches it with his free fist. Spartan drags Wolf to the guard rail and slams him face first into it.

Oh. It’s on now.

Spartan whips Wolf into the guardrail on the opposite side of the aisle. Wolf's back smacks the steel hard. He lets out a long, groaning "fuuuuuuuuuuck." He grabs the top of the rail so as not to fall on his ass. He needn't worry. Spartan gets him back to his feet...only to whip him into the guardrail on the other side of aisle again. This time, Wolf collapses and lands on his side. He looks up to see Spartan leaning over him. He groggily talks trash to his opponent.

Wolf: Is that all you got, Sparty?

Spartan: It depends, Wolfie. How much more can you take?

Wolf: Hit me with your best shot, bitch.

Spartan grabs Wolf by the hair and drags him near the ring. He lifts Wolf and drops him on the edge of the apron back first with a powerbomb. Wolf falls to his knees.

Crowd: Ooooo!

Wolf: That was a pretty good shot.

He falls on his face. Spartan rolls him into the ring. He covers, putting himself between Wolf and the ropes.

1!

2!

Wolf kicks out.

Spartan: Oh, come on. Don't make me have to put you to pasture.

Wolf is still groggy as Spartan picks him up.

Wolf: Fuck you.

Spartan sends Wolf off the ropes, but Wolf holds on to Spartan's wrist, reverses, and executes a Regal Cutter.

Clearwater: Wolf saved himself with that move!

Remi: Yeah, but he's gotta get up and capitalize!

Wolf takes a few seconds on the mat to recover. Spartan starts to stir and rolls onto his stomach. Wolf sees this out of his peripheral vision.

Alright, Wolf. Get up.

He does, in the process wincing at the pain in his lower back. Spartan gets to one knee. Wolf comes off the ropes and plants a running boot into the side of Spartan's head. Spartan collapses to his back. Wolf covers.

2!

Spartan kicks out.

Wolf sneers and rolls out of the ring. He lifts up the ring apron again and finds another steel chair.

Clearwater: Wolf really wants to use a steel chair badly!

However, as soon as he stands straight up, Spartan comes out of nowhere with a baseball slide, causing the chair to smash right into Wolf's face. Wolf falls flat on his back while the chair goes flying, almost hitting a fan in the front row (the crowd yells "Ooooo" followed quickly by a gasp at the near miss). Wolf puts his fingers to his lips and wipes them. He holds his fingers in front of his face and sees blood.

Wolf: Motherfucker
.

His split lower lip is throbbing in pain as Spartan climbs to the outside and snatches Wolf's head. He faces himself and Wolf towards the timekeeper's area. He hooks Wolf's left arm, gets a running start, and hip tosses Wolf right into Jessica Kaine, the time keeper, the ring attendant, and the APW doctor.

Clearwater: He threw him like a javelin! The Olympics aren't until next year, Spartan!

Spartan surveys the damage from his running hip toss. He makes his way over to the pile of rubble and bodies. He picks the ring bell up and smashes it down on the head of Dean Wolf.

DING!

And again.

DING!

And again.

DING!

Clearwater: Looks like Wolf has had his bell rung.

Remi: Sheesh.

Spartan tosses the bell away and it clatters against the ring post. He pulls Wolf to his feet and slugs him in his bottom lip trying to open his wound even further. Spartan then whips him into the ring post, but Wolf reverses the move in a moment of clarity and Spartan crashes head long into the steel post. As Spartan staggers back Wolf hooks him in a wait lock and utliises a german suplex to send Spartan to the ground. Wolf holds on and rolls through and executes a second german suplex, releasing with a throw this time sending Spartan crashing into the guard rail - taking the full force of the blow on the back of his head and neck. Wolf drops to his haunches to catch his breath, while Spartan clutches at his head on the ground.

Wolf is the first to his feet, and he starts peeling back the mats that surround the ring to expose the concrete. Wolf then walks over to Spartan and drags him to the exposed concrete and sets up him for a piledriver.

Remi: Wolf is going to kill him. A piledriver into the exposed concrete!!

Wolf struggles to flip Spartan into position as Spartan fights Wolf's hold.

Clearwater: Look at that, Spartan just countered with a backdrop.

Wolf is sent flying by Spartan's backdrop, but Spartan executes the move with enough force to get Wolf high enough in the air that it allows him to rotate in the air and land on his feet with cat like reflexes. Spartan turns around and is met with a vicious boot to the gut by Wolf that doubles the champion over. Wolf wraps his arm around his head and drops him into the ground with a snap DDT. Just missing the concrete.

Remi: Wolf is covering

ONE!

TWO!

Clearwater: No, Spartan gets a shoulder up.

Wolf slaps the mat with disgust and brings Spartan groans and is dragged upright.

Wolf grabs head of Spartan and slams it into the ring apron. He tries again by Spartan blocks the move and counters with his own apron head smash.

Clearwater: This is not a pretty match.

Remi: That's because it's HARDCORE!

Spartan throws Wolf into the guardrail sending it crashing back against the front row. Spartan stalks over to his opponent and grabs him around the throat to lift him to his feet. Spartan grabs the left wrist of Wolf to whip him to apron. Wolf catches himself mid whip and adjust his run, enabling himself to baseball slide him under the ring and out of sight from Spartan.

That won't be good.

Remi: Where did the Wolf go?

Spartan looks under the apron, but can't seem to spot Wolf.

Clearwater: Wait, there he is!

Wolf comes out from under the side of the ring adjacent to the side Spartan is looking under. He's got a can of root beer in his hand.

Clearwater: As you can see, Wolf has stolen one of the drinks that are kept under the ring for the ringside staff.

Remi: Yeah, including us! I specifically requested root beer! I hope Spartan kicks his ass now!

Wolf walks up behind Spartan, takes a sip, turns Spartan around, and spits the root beer in his eyes. Spartan is temporarily blinded, allowing Wolf to whack him in the head with the nearly full can. Spartan stumbles around while Wolf hands the can off to a fan.

Remi: Everybody's drinking MY root beer!

Wolf gets his hands on Spartan and throws him into the steel steps. With Spartan's backs up against the steps, Wolf stomps on him. On the last stomp, he presses his boot onto Spartan's face and pulls on to the ring post for leverage. Spartan yells in pain. Finally, Wolf relents. He walks away until he reaches the guardrail, turns around, and charges Spartan. However, Spartan shoots up and flapjacks Wolf onto the steps.

Remi: Yeah! Break his face!

Clearwater: Remi, it's just a drink.

Remi: Screw you, Mike!

Spartan snatches Wolf around the waist and lifts him up. He begins running around the ring. He makes one full lap around the squared circle.

Clearwater: He's building up steam for something! He's running at full speed while carrying a 230 pound man! Amazing!

Crowd: ooooooooooooooooooooo!

He’s halfway around the ring when instead of turning a corner, he drives Wolf (and himself) through the guardrail.

Crowd: HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!

Wolf and Spartan are out on the floor with fans crowding around them. Security holds them back. Spartan rolls to his stomach and drapes his arm across Wolf's chest.

1!

2!

2 1/2!

Clearwater: How did Wolf kick out after that?!

Spartan takes half a minute to get up. He pulls Wolf up by his hair but Wolf breaks his grip and stuns him with a right hand. Spartan stumbles away towards a flight of steps. Wolf catches up and drives Spartan's head into the steps' hand railing. Spartan falls to a knee on the first step. Wolf pulls him up the stairs, smashing his head on the railing every few steps. They finally reach the concourse. Wolf drags Spartan into the concession area, where a group of fans are cheering over the impromptu up-close view of the fight.

Remi: Somebody tell Wolf to get me a new root beer while he's up there!

Wolf sees an Allstate advertisement on the wall.

He pulls Spartan over to it, and begins smashing his head into it.

Wolf: You may be in good hands with Allstate...

Smash!

Wolf: ...but right now...

Smash!

Wolf: ...you're in my hands...

Smash!

Wolf: BITCH!

Smash!

Spartan falls and Wolf covers.

Kickout!

Spartan kicks out of the pinfall attempt just in time. Wolf reacts immediately and slaps Spartan across the face and then starts driving a knuckle into his open eyebrow wound. Spartan reaches around the back of Wolf and grabs hair and pulls him back giving himself time to get to his feet. Spartan grabs a chair that has been abandoned, but Wolf takes him down a football tackle that would make Mitch Wishnowsky proud.

Both men go crashing into the popcorn cart.

Remi: Get me some popcorn to go with my root beer!

Wolf is first his feet and grabs a steel tray and smashes it over Spartan’s head. Spartan groans audibly “ugh”. Wolf hits him again and again and again until Spartan is able to block a blow and drag himself away from the rubble. Dean Wolf doesn’t relent and gets up after Spartan and drives him through a t-shirt stand. Wolf grabs the first loose t-shirt he can get his hands on and uses it to start choking Spartan.

I… Can’t… Breathe…

Spartan fumbles around, reaching blindly for something to strike Wolf with. He finds a staple gun with a blind reach and swings it around like a club catching Wolf in the side of the head. The blow is enough to cause Wolf to let go and Spartan to catch his breath. Spartan drops the staple gun and grabs the sales assistant’s chair and strikes Wolf with it quickly. Wolf looks at Spartan wild-eyed and surging with adrenaline.

Wolf: Is that all you got, BITCH!

Spartan strikes again, this time with a much more powerful blow right down on the top of Wolf’s head. Wolf is staggered but is still standing. Spartan drives another chairshot into his skull and he drops down to one knee. And another, and falls to both knees. He hits him with another and Wolf collapses to the ground. Spartan opens the chair up and sits across the throat of his opponent and sits on it and leans down over Wolf’s face.

Remi: Looks like we are going to have a little therapy session.

Clearwater: I don’t want to see your psychiatrist, if you think this is therapy.

Remi: Tell him he owes me a root beer, Sparto.

Spartan slaps Wolf on the right cheek and then the left check.

Spartan: Come on Wolfy.

Spartan slaps him again.

Spartan: I thought you would huff and puff.

Spartan slaps him again.

Spartan: But you’re not taking the belt, not by the hairs of my chinny chin chin.

He slaps Wolf across the face once more. Spartan reaches over and picks the staple gun off the ground. He places it against the right eye of of Wolf.

Spartan: Any means necessary, right, Dean-O?

Clearwater: He’s going to blind him.

Spartan pulls the trigger…

Clearwater: That’s barbaric!!!

The staple gun makes a tell tale ‘clicking’ sound indicating its empty.

Spartan throws the staple gun away.

Spartan: Any means necessary, right, Dean-O?

You’re goddamn right.

Spartan doesn’t shoot the staple gun right away. Wolf isn’t sure if he’s hesitating or just waiting for dramatic effect. He can hear some gasps and screams as the fans that have crowded around anticipate a staple being shot through his eye. He stares at Spartan defiantly with his left eye.

Do it, motherfucker.

He grits his teeth and steels himself in preparation of his new piercing.

Spartan pulls the trigger.

Nothing.

Spartan throws the staple gun away. When he looks back down at his opponent, Wolf spits a bloody loogie right in his face.

Crowd: Ooooo!

Spartan wipes the spit from his face and becomes visibly enraged. He shoots up, throws the chair to the side, and punches Wolf in his split bottom lip.

Wolf: FUCK!

Spartan scoops Wolf up and slings him over his shoulder, carrying him back into the arena. He stops at the top of the stairs. Spartan looks at some of the fans.

Spartan: I’m tired of carrying this guy. He needs to learn to walk on his own.

He drops Wolf face first over the top railing with Snake Eyes. Wolf grabs the bottom railing so he doesn’t go rolling down the steps.

Spartan: Come on, Wolf! The stairs aren’t that steep!

He stomps on Wolf’s hand. Wolf loses his grip on the railing.

Wolf: Gaaa!

Spartan gives a quick kick to Wolf’s head, causing Wolf to roll down a bunch of steps. He grabs the bottom railing again to stop himself. He looks up at Spartan, who is standing triumphantly at the top.

Clearwater: Wolf is motioning for Spartan to come down and give him some more!

Spartan marches down the steps until he reaches Wolf.

Spartan: It’s not safe to stop in the middle of a staircase, man!

He goes to stomp Wolf’s hand again with his right foot, but Wolf moves out of the way. Spartan’s leg goes between the two railings. Wolf sweeps the left leg. Spartan falls to the hard concrete on his tailbone. Wolf hops over the guardrail, pulls Spartan’s right leg under the bottom rail, and tugs on both legs, causing Spartan’s nuts to smash against the rail.

Crowd: Oooooo!

Wolf gets Spartan’s right leg back over the bottom rail and turns him onto his stomach. He hops over the rail, reaches over, and pulls Spartan’s left leg up until his back is up against the top railing. Then, he drapes the leg over his shoulder.

Clearwater: Stretch Muffler!

Wolf adds more punishment by kneeling down on Spartan's neck.

Clearwater: Spartan is tied up like a pretzel over that railing!

Wolf: TAAAAAAAAAP!

Clearwater: The knee! The shin! The thigh! The back! The neck! Wolf is putting pressure on all of those body parts right now!

Remi: It's torture, bro!

Spartan growls as the ref asks if he wants to submit. He refuses and holds out long enough for Wolf to get tired and mercifully release the hold.

Spartan crumples in a heap on the stairs after having every joint destroyed by the ferocity of Dean Wolf. Wolf kicks Spartan as he lays a mess on the stairs.

Ugh!

Wolf lands another kick in the midsection of Spartan. It is a powerful blow that sees Spartan lifted off the ground. Wolf seizes the moment and kicks Spartan again and sends him rolling down the flight of stairs they were fighting on.

Spartan crashes into the concrete of the wall of the landing. He lands back against the wall in seated position. Wolf stalks him down the stairs and sizes up his prey. The wild canine bares his teeth and then launches a running knee straight into the face of Spartan.

Crowd: HO-LY SHIT!

Remi: That could've killed him!

Crowd: HO-LY SHIT!

Spartan’s head ricochets off the wall like a tennis ball bounces off the strings of a racquet. Spartan slides down the concrete wall leaving a trail of blood as he slides to the floor. Wolf stands over Spartan and he lays on the floor.

Clearwater: Is Spartan dead?

Wolf: Get up and fight, BITCH!

Wolf bends over and slaps Spartan. Spartan moves slightly.

Remi: Not dead, but close.

Wolf stands over the top of Spartan as he lays on the cold concrete floor, barely conscious after was possibly the most brutal running knee ever known to man. Wolf stomps down on the nuts of Spartan.

Wolf: Get.

Dean stomps on his nuts again.

Wolf: Up.

The former Hardcore Champion stomps down on the testicles of Spartan for the a third time.

Wolf: BITCH!

Spartan groans in pain and rolls over, and curls into a ball to try and protect his body. Wolf has seen enough of Spartan laying on the ground, and grabs him by the beard and pulls him to his feet. He runs Spartan by the head through a door that leads into a carpark.

Spartan crashes through the door and rolls on the ground. He crashes into a black SUV and comes to a rest, in the seated position like he was in the stairwell.

Wolf’s eyes light up.

Clearwater: He IS going to kill him this time!

Wolf charges at Spartan.

Wolf lifts his knee.

Spartan moves.

Just.

Wolf’s knee smashes straight into the door of the SUV, leaving a huge dent in the side. Wolf drops down and clutches at his knee, it’s hurting, due to the sheer velocity that he hit the car with that knee.

They are down. Spartan is clutching his head, blood oozing from the back of it. Wolf is holding his knee.

Clearwater: This is WAR!!!

Spartan is the first to gather himself and gets to his feet, as does Wolf. Both men are standing, Wolf with a slight hobble due to his knee. Spartan grabs Wolf and smashes his head into car window. Spartan tries again. Wolf blocks it. And then grabs Spartan’s head. Wolf smashes Spartan’s head through the glass.

CRAAAAASSSH!!!

Wolf pulls Spartan's head out of the car and throws him to the ground. He goes for the cover.

Before he can smack the ground a third time, referee Eddie Silk gets distracted by the sights and sounds of approaching police sirens. Two officers get out of a Rosemont Auxiliary Police car and draw their guns.

Wolf: What the hell? Eddie! Count!

Silk looks back at Wolf and goes to smack the ground but the police stop him.

Officer 1: Freeze! Get your hands up!

Silk immediately complies.

Wolf: Damn it! What the fuck?!

Officer 1: You, too, sleaze bag!

Wolf stands up and moves towards the cops.

Officer 1: Stay where you are! Move another step and we shoot! Get your hands up!

Wolf stops walking.

Wolf: We're part of the wrestling show inside the arena!

Officer 2: So why aren't you in the arena then? Why are you destroying private property? And get your hands up!

Wolf does as he's told but still argues.

Wolf: It's a hardcore match! It's legal!

Both officers move in on him.

Officer 1: You can tell your story down at the station!

Wolf: You're arresting me?! Are you serious?! I'm fighting to get my Hardcore Title back! Are you fucking kidding me?! You're auxiliary police! I can't even believe they give you fuckers guns!

He tries to fight them off but they cuff him. Spartan comes to. Seeing an opening, he gets up and starts whaling away on the compromised Wolf. Officer 2 grabs his arms, too, and starts cuffing him.

Officer 2: You're under arrest for interfering with an arrest!

Spartan: What?!

Silk: Officers! Please! No! These guys are just wrestlers! Alpha Pro Wrestling will compensate the owner of the car! I promise! Please! Let em' go!

Officer 1: Back off, Grandpa!

Spartan and Wolf start kicking at each other while the police try to drag them away.

Silk: Who you callin' Grandpa, Mall Cop?

Officer 1 lets go off Wolf and walks towards Silk.

Officer 1: What did you call me?

Wolf runs at Spartan and gives him a headbutt.

Silk: My whole professional career, I've had big hulking wrestlers pushing me around when all I try to do is my job, and now you show up with your part-time weekend salary and your toy badge and start calling me "Grandpa?!" Screw you, pal!

Officer 1: You know what? I'm taking you in, too.

Wolf continues headbutting Spartan.

Officer 2: Roger! Damn it! Grab this guy!

Officer 1 looks back and grabs Wolf. Silk jumps on Officer 1's back and tries choking him out. Officer 1 flips Silk onto his back, pulls out his taser, and shoots it right into Silk's chest. Silk starts convulsing.

Officer 2: Not the chest, Roger!

Officer 2 lets go of Spartan.

Officer 1: Oh, shit! And I was just acquitted of excessive force!

Wolf and Spartan look at each other and start running back towards the arena.

Wolf: We need bolt cutters!

Spartan: What the fuck, Dean?

Both men bust through the stairwell door and flee back to the arena proper.

Wolf: Run, Sparto. I’ll fuck you up later.

The combatants are running with their hands cuffed behind their back as run up the stairs, Officer excessive force chases after them with his best Chief Wiggum waddle.

Bang!

Wolf: Fuck!

Spartan: Fuck!

Officer 1: Stop. That one was a warning shot.

Both men look at each other and increase their leg up speed as they climb the stairs.

Bang! Bang!

They start ducking and weaving bullets and are internally thankful the cop can’t shoot straight.

Spartan: I’m going to kill you, Wolfy, if I survive this.

Wolf: I’ll kill you first, bitch.

Bang!

Both men dive back through the doorway that enters the Arena and work together shut the door. They look around and see the overturned popcorn cart and push it in front of the door with their shoulders, hands still cuffed behind their back.

Officer 1: Open this god-damned door, motherfuckers!

The officer bashes on the door from the stairwell side.

Wolf and Spartan look at each other. Both men charge at each other like enraged antelope bucks in mating season and crash head first into each other. Both men slump to the floor next to each other.

Remi: Someone needs to get out here and get them out of those cuffs.

Clearwater: And someone needs to tell Dante to get the cheque book out for Chicago PD.

As both men lay on the ground next to each other they wildly kick at each other without control. Spanky O'Shaughnessey and Jessica Silk appear on the scene with bolt cutters. Spartan and Wolf both fight to be the first to be released and they know the advantage they will gain.

Jess Silk cuts Wolf out first and he explodes onto Spartan wailing fists into his face while he can’t defend himself. Spanky manages to cut Spartan free with Wolf on top of him, which allows Spartan to push Wolf off him.

Both men stand and face off.

Wolf: I’m gonna kill you, BITCH!

Spartan: Better man first, motherfucker!

Wolf charges and Spartan ducks and takes him to the ground with a drop toe hold. Wolf’s face crashing down into concrete without protection. Spartan rips the bolt cutters from the hands of Spanky and smashes them into the back of Wolf’s head. He then drops down and applies an STF using the bolt cutters to choke Wolf.

Spartan: TAP!

Wolf: NO!

Frustrated, Spartan releases the hold and climbs to his feet. He pulls Wolf up with him.

Officer 1: Freeze DIRTBAGS!

Officer Roger: Hands up, MOTHERFUCKERS!

Officer Fatboy and Officer Roger have got into the arena somehow and hand their guns pointed squarely at the chests of Spartan and Dean Wolf.

Officer 1: We said HANDS UP MOTHERFUCKERS!

Wolf and Spartan look at each other.

Both men raise their middle fingers at the Mall Cops!

Crowd: FUCK YEAH!

Officer 1 pulls back the hammer on his gun.

Officer 2: Roger, maybe this isn't a good idea.

Officer 1: Shut up, Wendell. You've always been fat and weak. I'm tired of this. All we ever try to do is protect the streets and put the bad guys away. And for what? So people can protest us, spit on us, throw things at us, call us names, give us the middle finger like these two jackasses right here? I tell you, I've had it up to here! I don't care whose lives matter! What matters right now is that we're going to blow these two sons of bitches away!

Officer 1 raises his gun a little higher. His partner does the same but is shaking.

Officer 1: Looks like you two are going down for a permanent three-count.

Wolf and Spartan stare at the cops, ready to accept their fate, when all of a sudden...

Officer 2 is hit over the head with a 2 x 4 by an assailant. Officer 1 turns around and gets the same treatment. An African-American man stands over them holding his weapon proudly.

Clearwater: Oh my God! IT'S JUSSIE SMOLLET!!!

As soon as Jessie shakes Spartan's hand, the champ lifts him up at the waist and drops him into the awaiting hands of Wolf.

Clearwater: 3D TO JUSSIE SMOLLET ON THE CONCRETE!!!

Spartan and Wolf stand up.

Spartan: You know, we work pretty well together when we're not kicking each other's asses.

Wolf: I know. You'd think Irina would have given us a Tag Team Title match by now, seeing as we beat the Canadian Coalition three weeks ago.

Spartan: Yeah. I guess it'll just have to wait until I retain my title tonight.

Wolf: Or after I win it.

They just stare at each other for a good ten seconds...

before punching the shit out of each other again.

Wolf gets the better of the exchange and sends Spartan stumbling back into an open elevator. He follows him in and the door closes.

Remi: Someone steal the security feed.

Clearwater: Where does that elevator go.

Remi: That’s for the skyboxes. The corporates.

Clearwater: Get the FEED!

Remi: Yeh BOIS! Go fuck the suits up!!

Clearwater: Have we go the security cameras for that lift yet?

Remi: No. But we have vision in the skyboxes.

BING!

The lift doors open in the corridors that provide access to all the corporate boxes. Spartan stumbles backwards out of the lift and keeps punching Spartan backwards, He goes falling backwards through double doors into a room full of corporate suits eating caviar and drinking champagne.

Remi: Get me the good beer, Spartan. I don’t need a root beer.

Spartan grabs a random suit and throws him in Wolf’s path.

Clearwater: KILL!! Wolf just killed a civilian!!

Spartan grabs another suit and throws him at Wolf.

Clearwater: KILL!! Another dead suit.

Spartan tries again and throws two suits in quick succession at Wolf as he surges forward.

Clearwater: KILL! KILL!

Spartan keeps backing up, but finds a waiter and hurls him at Wolf again, but only after stealing his condiments tray.

Clearwater: KILL!

Remi: WHACK!!

Spartan came right behind the waiter and smashed Dean Wolf just as he flattened the waiter with The Kill.

Clearwater: Dean Wolf has a bigger body count than Richard Speck right now.

Spartan hits Wolf again with the butler tray. He then grabs him and throws him across the room. Wolf comes to a stop at the end of the buffet table. Spartan grabs him and places him face down on the buffet table then runs him down the buffet until he comes to a stop at full roast pig. Spartan pulls the apple out of the pigs mouth and shoves it into the mouth of Wolf. Spartan finds a turkey drumstick in the pile of food and takes a bite from it and throws it away.

Spartan looks around for something to hit Wolf with, but it allows Wolf to sit himself up. He takes a bite from the apple and throws it at the back of Spartan’s head. Spartan turns around and he spits the half chewed pieces of apple in his face.

An enraged Spartan runs at the seated Wolf and dives at him and drives him off the buffet table. Both men crash into the sky box window. Wolf pushes Spartan off him and then hits him with a kick to the gut to double the champ over. Wolf hits Spartan with a waistlock release suplex which sends Spartan crashing into the glass again. Spartan slides down landing on his hand on the carpet.

Wolf picks up a chair from room and throws it at the cracked glass. The crack gets bigger but does not break. He grabs another chair, and then breaks the glass. The shattered glass rains down on the crowd underneath.

Crowd:YEEEEH!!

Spartan gets to his feet in front of the broken viewing window.

Wolf charges…

Clearwater: SPARTAN BACK BODY DROPS WOLF OUT OF THE LUXURY BOX AND INTO THE LAST ROW OF FANS IN SECTION 111!

Spartan hops out of the luxury box and into the row of fans were Wolf landed.

Clearwater: This is becoming dangerous for our fans!

Remi: Becoming? It already is!

Spartan press Wolf over his head and throws him down a few more rows.

Clearwater: What is Spartan doing?! He's hurting Wolf but he's putting fans in danger!

Remi: I think he ran out of fucks to give!

Spartan goes down the steps and finds the aisle where Wolf landed. He pushes fans out of his way as he trudges towards his enemy.

Remi: He's on the war path!

Spartan presses Wolf over his head again. The fans in the next few rows start moving out of their seats and towards the stairs in hopes of avoiding a flying Wolf. Spartan throws him down to the bottom row of the section.

Clearwater: MY GOD!

Spartan goes to the stairs again. Security starts clearing a path for Spartan in order to protect the fans from getting in his way. Spartan gets to the bottom row and sees Wolf struggling to get up, holding his ribs.

Clearwater: C'mon, Spartan! That's enough!

Wolf has the face of a man who's in too much pain to show anger.

Spartan: I can do this all night!

He lifts and dumps Wolf over the railing and to the concrete below.

Clearwater: NO!

Crowd: YOU SICK FUCK! YOU SICK FUCK!

Spartan hops the railing and lands with both feet on the floor.

Clearwater: Now he's going for the floor seats!

The fans on the floor make a run for it, too. Spartan presses Wolf above his head and does a few reps like he's in the weight room before tossing the challenger. The steel chairs Wolf lands on make a crashing noise.

Clearwater: Don't tell me he knows how to fall! How do you learn to fall when you're being thrown around with reckless abandon?!

Wolf races to get up before Spartan reaches him but he's too weak to stand. Instead of walking down an aisle, Spartan starts pushing the chairs out of his way.

Spartan: Here I come, Wolf!

Clearwater: You'd think with everything he's been through in this match, Spartan would almost be dead, but he's like Wolverine with regenerative healing powers!

Wolf finally gets balances himself on his feet and folds up a steel chair. When Spartan reaches him, he drives the chair into Spartan's stomach. It fazes him for a second but recovers quickly and grabs the back of Wolf's neck and his tights. He spins him and throws him forward a few aisles. Like a wrestling version of King Kong, he climbs over a few more rows of chairs. When he gets to Wolf, he stands on two chairs, pulls Wolf up, presses him, and throws him over the guardrail, where Wolf finally and fortunately lands in the ringside area.

Clearwater: Both these men have to have been part of the Weapon X to still be standing right now.

Remi: They’re not bald!?

Remi: Oh.

Spartan finds the hardcore title amongst the rubble of the timekeepers table - it feels like days since that was destroyed. Spartan grabs the belt and shoves it against Wolf’s face.

Spartan: You want this?

Wolf: Fuck YES!

Wolf low blows Spartan and he drops the belt. Wolf pulls Spartan down to the ground by his beard and he lifts himself up. Wolf clutches at his ribs before locking Spartan in a front facelock. Spartan has a dangling arm and hooks Wolf’s leg and lift him up into the air, but Wolf thinks fast and pushes him feet off the ropes and swings around dropping Spartan down with a tornado DDT!

Clearwater: WHATAMOVE BY WOLF!!

Remi: He covers!

ONE!

TWO!

Clearwater: The hand is coming down.

Remi: This is over and Wolf still owes me a root beer.

Clearwater: NO! Did you see that! Spartan go the shoulder up before Spanky’s hand slapped the ground.

Wolf looks at Spanky incredulous. But even Jessica Silk is adamant that Spartan got out of that pinfall attempt. Wolf grabs the hardcore title belt and rests it on Spartan’s face. Wolf grabs an abandoned chair. He smashes the chair onto the belt that is on Spartan’s face.

Wolf surveys the damage. Spartan’s face is covered in claret. Wolf drops to his knees right in front of Spartan’s face and grabs the belt. He holds right in the blood covered face of his opponent.

Wolf: THIS IS MINE!

Spartan spits blood up into the face of Wolf.

Remi: Was that a tooth?

Clearwater: Something white came from Spartan’s mouth then.

Spartan: Over my dead body.

Spartan growls through gritted teeth.

Wolf wipes the blood from his face.

Wolf: That can be arranged.

Dean smashes the belt into Spartan’s face again. He pushes his knuckles onto his face as he stands up and then grabs Spartan and slings him into the guardrail. Spartan hits the steel so hard that the section he crashed into separates from the pieces it was attached to. Wolf hops onto the apron and launches himself and drops an elbow onto the prone body of Spartan.

Wolf looks around at Spanky and Jessica Silk and then covers

Remi: Is it...

ONE!

Remi: Over...

TWO!

Remi: Yet?

Clearwater: NOOOOOO! Somehow. Someway, Spartan got a shoulder up again. Hell, I don’t know how either of these men are still breathing, let alone standing.

Remi: It’s that title…

Clearwater: I fear one of these men will have to die for the other to win this match.

Remi: That’s Alpha Pro, Bro.

Wolf is maddened that he can’t put Spartan away, but he is in too much agony to care and he wants the Hardcore Title too much to show any pain.

He pulls Spartan to his feet.

Wolf: You know, Spartan, with everything I've done to you tonight, I still haven't given you my best shot. Now's the time. There's no one to throw in front of me anymore. There's no one to stop me.

He holds out his right arm.

Clearwater: He's gonna go for The Kill!

Remi: Not if I have anything to say about it!

Remi throws off his headset, grabs a steel chair from the rubble, and hits Wolf in the back with it.

Remi: That's for my root beer!

Wolf turns around and looks at Remi wide-eyed.

Remi: Oh, fuck.

Remi drops the chair and runs into the ring. Wolf chases after him. Remi tries to escape through the ropes on the opposite side but Wolf catches him by the ankle and pulls. Remi desperately tries to hold on to the bottom rope. Suddenly, Spartan gets in the ring with the chair Remi used and smacks Wolf in the back with it. Wolf lets go and Remi escapes. Wolf turns around and Spartan crushes him over the head with the chair. He drops the chair in the middle of the ring, hoists Wolf up into a fireman’s carry, and stands over the chair.

Spartan: Well, this looks familiar.

Clearwater: He’s going to end it just like he did at Alpha Showdown!

Time slows down for Wolf as he looks down at the chair six feet below where Spartan intends on planting his face again.

I can't believe I got distracted. Again. I can’t go down like this twice.

Spartan begins lifting Wolf in the air.

Clearwater: [in slow motion] REV-O-LU-TION-I-ZER!

I’m not a loser. My win in AC wasn't a fluke. I need to show that my career didn't peak with a 15 day title reign.

Wolf feels himself start to spin.

Most people don’t think I’m going to win, including my peers. I hear what they say about me behind my back. I know they think Spartan's the favorite.

His body has turned 90° at this point.

If I lose to Spartan, it wouldn’t be the worst thing, right? He’s talented. He’s my equal. No shame in losing to a guy like him.

Clearwater: IT’S-O-VER!

What am I talking about? Fuck that. It would be the worst thing.

He feels himself falling to the ground.

No. It’s not ending like this again.

Time goes back to normal speed. Wolf lands on his feet.

Clearwater: WOLF ESCAPED!

He kicks Spartan in the stomach and comes off the ropes.

Clearwater: HE’S GOING TO HIT EASY PREY!

But Spartan grabs the chair and throws it at Wolf’s right knee. The knee gives out, allowing Spartan to hit a thunderous knee smash of his own. Wolf clutches his knee, rolls to the ropes and pulls himself up. He limps towards Spartan. Spartan comes off the opposite ropes and sprints across the ring.

Clearwater: HERE COMES THE SPEAR! NO! EASY PREY! WOLF GOT THE KNEE UP AT THE LAST SECOND!!!

Both men collapse to the canvas.

Where am I?

Spartan looks above him and see lights.

Am I dead? Am I being called to the light?

Spartan moves his hands around his body.

No, that's canvas. I'm the ring. I'm wrestling - but, where?

Spartan moves around some more and finds the ring ropes to pull himself to his feet. His equilibrium is almost gone and he needs to the ropes to hold himself up.

There's Dean Wolf. Las Vegas. Alpha Showdown. I'm fighting for the Hardcore Title.

Spartan shakes his head to clear the white noise in his ears.

Where's Zombie McMorris? Ain't gonna let him cost me the title. Worked too hard to get here.

Wolf is pulling himself to his feet.

Spartan: Hey WOLF! I'm taking that hardcore title off your waist. Fuck wherever Z-Mac is!

Wolf looks at Spartan confused.

Wolf: That's right my fucking title!

Spartan: I will be the new champion tonight!

Spartan points his finger at Wolf.

Wolf flips his middle finger up at Spartan.

Clearwater: These two men have given it all tonight. Both men are sucking on reserves to make it to the finish. Both men have taken everything and given more back.

Spartan runs at Wolf. Wolf runs at Spartan. Both man pass each other in the night. And bounce off the opposite ropes to whence that started. As they are running back Spartan notices Wolf readying for the Kill.

No. Not gonna get me with at that, Wolfy.

Spartan ducks under the Kill attempt, but loses his balance and lands on all fours on the mat. Never one to miss a moment, Dean Wolf turns and drives his foot into the back of Spartan's head, sending him brutally face first into the canvas with a devastating curb stomp. Wolf drops down on Spartan and rolls him over onto his back, but Spartan on instinct alone curls Wolf up into a small package and gets Wolf's shoulders onto the mat.

Clearwater: No. This can't end this way.

ONE!

TWO!

WOLF BREAKS OUT!

Clearwater: Good!!

Spartan pulls himself to his feet using the nearest ropes.

When did Dean Wolf get a twin brother? And where the fuck has Z-Mac gone?

Wolf charges Spartan and Spartan swings a clothesline completely down the wrong line of his running opponent.

How did I miss him?

Spartan turns around right into a mule kick from Wolf that doubles him over. Wolf locks Spartan in a front face lock and then drops him down across his knee face first. Wolf grimaces but uses the adrenaline coursing through his body to mask his pain. Spartan's face is covered in claret. His ginger beard is matted together by all the dried blood. He is laying on the mat staring up at Wolf and rolls out of the way of a falling elbow drop. Wolf is to his feet as Spartan once again pull himself up by the ropes.

Spartan: Get rid of your brother, Wolf. This is you, me and Z-Mac

They stare off.

Referee Spanky hears the odd words coming out of Spartan's mouth and gets in between Wolf and Spartan.

Spanky: Wait! Hold on! Time out!

Wolf: Time out? What the hell is this?

Spanky checks Spartan's eyes.

Spanky: Spartan! Can you continue?!

Spartan: I've got a roulette table with your name on it, Other Wolf!

Spanky: Okay, he can't continue.

He goes to motion to the timekeeper to ring the bell, but Wolf grabs his shirt collar.

Wolf: Hey! You ain't stopping shit! If I'm going to win this match, I'm not doing it by referee stoppage. I'm gonna kick his ass and pin him myself!

Spanky: Wolf, are you listening to him?! He can't continue! He could be concussed!

Wolf: I'll give you two options! You can either let me knock HIM out or you can let me knock YOU out!

Spanky considers his options briefly, and then moves out of Wolf's way.

Wolf: Good choice.

Wolf grabs Spartan by the beard.

Wolf: Hey, fucker!

He slaps him across the face.

Wolf: Snap out of it! If you don't get your shit together right now, Spanky's gonna call the match and award me the title, and I'm not winning it like that!

Spartan: ZMAC's got a machete! Watch out!

Wolf slaps him again.

Wolf: ZMAC isn't here, dumbass! This is about you and me! We're the pioneers of the Hardcore Division, not him! We're going to be the ones people talk about when they write the history of hardcore wrestling in APW, but not if you keep talking this silly shit and cause a fucking referee to end this match! We've been kicking each other's ass in and out of this arena! I put you through a car window! You press slammed me through two sections of seats! We're black and blue! We're bloody! We're risking our lives for that gold strap that means more to both of us than anything in this world, and nothing would be less satisfying to me, the boys in the back, these fans, and this entire wrestling business if this match had to end on a weak-ass referee stoppage! Now, are you gonna stop acting like a brain-dead fucktard or are you going to act like the defending APW Hardcore Champion and finish this match?!

Spartan squints his eyes and looks past Wolf.

Spartan: It's good to see you, President Obama.

Wolf: What?

Wolf looks behind him and sees nothing.

Wolf: Fuck this.

He picks up the chair and swings it at Spartan's head, but Spartan drops to his knees.

Clearwater: LOW BLOW BY SPARTAN!

Wolf falls to his knees.

Wolf: You fuck. You snap out of it just in time to hit me in the nuts?

Spartan shrugs his shoulders.

Spartan: Sorry, man.

With his eyes barely open, Wolf offers a fist tap. Spartan is at first distrustful, but cautiously accepts and taps his fist against Wolf’s. The crowd applauds. Wolf nods his head.

Wolf: Respect.

Then he headbutts Spartan.

Fucking Hell that hurts!

Spartan grabs his head after being on the receiving end of a blow from a man who's head hardness would make a Samoan jealous.

Both men get to their feet and look at each other.

Clearwater: Both men still fighting here. THIS IS INCREDIBLE!

Remi: Did you get the number of that truck?

Clearwater: It wasn't a truck.

Remi: I drink too much again, Mike?

Clearwater: Probably.

Wolf offers his arm up for a test of strength with Spartan. Spartan obliges and uses his strength advantage drops force Wolf down to his knees.

LOW BLOW!

Wolf: Revenge, bitch.

Spartan: Touche.

Spartan tackles Wolf and punches him twice in the face before climbing to his feet. He pulls Wolf up with him.

Clearwater: Collar and elbow tie up.

Remi: This is a hardcore match. FUCK THE TECHNICAL SHIT! What did I drink Mike? My head is really sore.

Clearwater: Root beer - you couldn't help yourself.

Remi: Root beer?

Clearwater: Yes, Root Beer - you couldn't help yourself

Spartan whips Wolf into the ropes and vaults over him as he bounces out of the ropes and comes back at him. On the second bounce Wolf hits the mat and then springs back up as Spartan goes past. Spartan comes back again and they both come to a stop with their respective fists mere inches from their faces. Both men smile and start punching away.

Wolf punches Spartan.

Spartan punches Wolf.

Wolf punches Spartan.

Spartan punches Wolf.

Wolf punches Spartan.

Spartan punches Wolf.

Wolf punches Spartan.

Wolf blocks Spartan.

Wolf punches Spartan.

Wolf drives Spartan back into the corner with his punches. Spartan comes to rest against the turnbuckles. Wolf runs back and builds momentum like a steam train to charge at Spartan and just as Wolf launches in the air, Spartan moves and runs to the far turnbuckles. Wolf catches himself and lands on the top trunbuckle. He spins around and sees Spartan resting against the turnbuckle.

Wolf: Yo, Sparto!

Spartan: What, Wolfy?

Wolf: Tell me am I gonna have to kill you?

Spartan: You know it. Am I gonna have to kill you?

Wolf: Damn straight.

Spartan: Good.

Wolf: Yep.

Spartan: You like the foxtrot?

Wolf: What?

Spartan: Me neither. So let's stop dancing and start fighting.

Wolf: Sounds good to me, Sparto.

Both men jump down off their turnbuckles. Spartan starts clapping rhythmically. Wolf copies him. The crowd start copying the bloodied and bruised warriors in the middle of the ring. Spartan stomps his feet as the crowd keeps clapping, while Wolf scrapes his foot like a bull getting ready to gore a matador.

They charge at each other.

Remi: WAR!

Clearwater: What is it good for?

Remi: FUCKING THIS! You sure I got fucked up by root beer, Mike?

Clearwater: Most definitely.

Spartan and Wolf hit each other with elbow smashes at the same time. They stumble backwards and then hit each other with running big boots at the same time. They stumble backwards again and then hit simultaneous running clotheslines. Both men fall down.

Clearwater: Wait! What's this?!

Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Walking down the stairs between sections 111 and 112 like The Shield are Jussie Smollett and the two Roseland Auxiliary Police officers. They walk over the fallen guardrail and get in the ring. They circle Wolf and Spartan like hyenas getting ready to eat their prey. The officers look at Jussie. He nods his head and the three of them start stomping away and punching the two spent combatants. Jussie then orders the officers to stop and demands a microphone.

Jussie Smollett: I know you're all probably thinking "How is Jussie Smollett standing side by side with two police officers after he just beat them with a 2 x 4 and shouted 'Fuck Tha Po-lice' twenty minutes ago?" I'll tell you how; because no matter how much these officers hate me and no matter how much I hate these officers, me and these officers hate two people even more: Spartan and Dean Wolf. Now, we're uniting against a common enemy and we're going to ruin this great hardcore match that you all came here to see. Officers: GET THE TABLES!

The two cops go outside and pull two tables out from under the ring. They set them up in the ring and lay one wrestler on top of each of them. Spanky tries to stop them but Jussie throws him to the outside. Jasmine Silk gets in the ring but Jussie disposes of her, too. Jussie motions for the cops to climb to the top turnbuckles.

Clearwater: They're going to break Spartan and Wolf in half after they have put on an absolute war! This match is going to end in a no-contest!

The cops get to the top turnbuckles when a siren is heard. An ambulance comes barreling down the aisle and crashes into the ring. The refs fall to the canvas. The driver's door opens.

Clearwater: IT'S EDDIE SILK! IN HIS HOSPITAL GOWN!

Eddie rolls into the ring.

Eddie Silk: I'm back, Mall Cops!

Spartan and Wolf come to and climb off the tables. Jasmine and Spankie roll back into the ring. The cops and Jussie are surrounded. Jasmine and Spanky chickenwing the cops' arms. Eddie alternates between the cops, punching each in the face repeatedly. Wolf holds Jussie down as Spartan stacks the two tables. When he's done, Spartan sits on the top turnbuckle. Wolf lifts Jussie and hands him off to Spartan, who powerbombs Jussie through the two tables. The crowd roars. Jussie and the two cops get thrown into the ambulance. Eddie resumes his ref duties.

Spanky and Jasmine get in the ambulance to drive it away, but before they can pull away...

Clearwater: SPARTAN JUST RELEASE GERMAN SUPLEXED WOLF INTO THE WINDSHIELD OF THAT AMBULANCE!!!

Clearwater: For those of you just tuning in, this hardcore bout is one of the most intense in pro wrestling history!

St. Remi: Dude you could not be more right! Intense, bloody, sadistic -- and so evenly matched, I don’t even know how this is going to end!

Clearwater: But it has to! No way these men can keep going. Dean Wolf has given his all! Spartan has spent everything in the tank! They both deserve to walk out with that belt tonight, but someone’s gotta win, and someone’s got to lose!

St. Remi: HOW IS WOLF EVEN MOVING RIGHT NOW?!

Slowly, groggily, Dean Wolf picks himself up off the spiderwebbed windshield of the ambulance. He slips off the hood of the vehicle and wobbles on his feet. Spartan can’t believe it! Eddie Silk can’t believe it! Even the cops and Jussie Smollett, watching from within the ambulance, can’t believe it! The fans are completely behind both competitors, chanting.

Crowd: THIS IS AWE-SOME! *Clap! Clap! Clap-clap-clap!* THIS IS AWE-SOME! *Clap! Clap! Clap-clap-clap!*

In an incredible display of sportsmanship, Spartan reaches down and helps Wolf back into the ring. The two stare at each other for a few seconds. Each one knows it’s down to this final moment. One move, hit or miss, all or nothing, everything on the line. Spartan moves first, trying to set Wolf up for the F5!

Clearwater: REVOLUTIONIZER!

St. Remi: NO! Wolf evades! He runs at Spartan! EASY PREY!

Clearwater: Followed by the KILL! I don’t know how, but he did it! Wolf with the cover!

One!

Two!!

THREE!!!

DING DING DING!

Jessica Kaine: The winner of this match, and your NEW APW Hardcore Champion -- DEAN WOLF!!!!

“Of Wolf and Man” thunders through the arena. The fans cheer, nearly as loud as the music, as Wolf is handed the Hardcore strap. An exhausted Spartan uses the ropes to drag himself to his feet and the audience goes even crazier as Wolf walks over and helps him stand. Both men raise a fist into the air to a huge pop from the crowd!

St. Remi: Look at these guys! The hardest fought match of either man’s career, a competition that could have ended either of them at any time, but now that the bell’s been rung, they’re just two dudes with nothing but respect! THAT’S hardcore!
