"Wow, that was a fucking blast. You slipped one by me Road Dawg and I should have seen it coming. You haven't seen the last of me though. Now it's on to next week and another opponent. I don't even care who it is. It doesn't matter because I am going to do what I do no matter what. If it's good enough, so be it. if not, I keep trying to get better until it is. I won't quit and I'm not backing down from anyone!"
He knew that those words were true. Only he was beginning to think more of his father. He felt so lost at times without him around. Especially after just being reunited after so many years. The truth also was that even though he had all kinds of women who would jump into the sack with him in a heartbeat he still felt so alone. He had never felt more alone than he does right now. Still he struggles on and tries to find whatever he can to fill that void deep inside him. A void even deeper than the loss of his father. There was something more that he was missing and he couldn't figure it out for the life of him. He sighed as he looked over at his latest fling, a stewardess in for the weekend. At least, judging by the condom wrappers on the night stand beside the bed. He was smart enough to use protection. He wasn't into catching anything more than a cold. There was shit out there now even a shot can't get rid of. Like his dad used to tell him all the time. There had to be more to life than this.
It wasn't that he was bad off. He had plenty of money and a nice nest egg put away for the future. He could retire now and never have to worry about money. The only time he felt whole was when he was inside that squared circle. That was the only thing keeping him from going completely fucking nuts! Even now, not having won a match yet in APW. He still felt right at home. He had to admit the competition was tough and that was just how he liked it. He couldn't think of a better way to improve than to take on the best and learn all he could while doing so. He couldn't wait to step back into the ring and he didn't care who it was.
After waking up, damn what was her name. Hell he couldn't remember. Anyway after getting her the hell out he jumped into the shower and washed his ass before dressing and heading downstairs to the restaurant for some ham and eggs. Along with his coffee, of course. He would need the caffeine to keep him going today. Every muscle in his body screamed out for relief. He would hit the hot tub for a while after his workout. He definitely wasn't looking forward to that today but he had to do it. He needed to punish himself a little bit anyway for not seeing that move coming at Metal. Oh well, shit happens. He would know to watch out for it the next time. He hoped they would face each other again. He actually enjoyed going against Road Dawg.
He had just finished his meal and was waiting for more coffee when he heard someone calling out his name. He turned and saw Dani Applegate the lead interviewer for APW coming his way. He stood up and shook her hand before sitting back down while she sat down across from him.
Dani Applegate
Johnny, I am Dani Applegate with APW. I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions?
Johnny Blaze
Of course, I have enjoyed your work on Talk Metal.
Dani Applegate
Thank you. First off, welcome to APW. How do you feel about the level of competition here? It may be a new and upcoming organization but I think it's pretty damn tough.
Johnny Blaze
I couldn't agree more Dani. I thought my dad had it tough in the WCF but this shit is just crazy. And I love it!
Dani Applegate
Does it concern you that you have yet to win your first match?
Johnny Blaze
Not really. It will come in time. I just have to be patient and keep improving. It kind of upset me a little bit at first but the more I thought about it the better I felt. I'm still kind of new to all of this and I can only get better. That's how I look at it. I've never been a quitter and never will be.
Dani Applegate
How do you feel about your next opponent Allen Anderson? Of course, I will be there at ringside right along with him so you better not try anything. I think he's going to mop the floor with you. What do you think about that?
Johnny Blaze
Oh really? I didn't even know who I was facing until just now. Allen Anderson huh? I wonder if he is related to Arn and Ole? They were two of the roughest and toughest wrestlers I ever saw. Dad would play the old Starcade shows. If Allen is anything like them I had better be on top of my game. I think I have what it takes to give him a pretty good fight! Isn't your being here a conflict of interest? Shouldn't someone else be interviewing me?
Dani Applegate
I'll be the one asking the questions here thank you. Besides, I like seeing his opponents squirm before they face him. Now what makes you think you can defeat him? You haven't shown me a damn thing since you've been here except you know how to lose pretty good! You don't even deserve to be in the same ring with him!
Johnny Blaze
Yeah? We'll see about that won't we. What makes him think that he can defeat me? He hasn't done all that great either since being here. He just picked up his first win thanks to his tag team partner. I don't think the guy is as tough as he pretends to be. He's definitely not as tough as I know that I can be. For a big man I can get around that ring pretty quick. That is one thing I'm glad I got from my dad.
Dani Applegate
Speaking of your dad. Have you seen the loser lately? He was a chickenshit who ran every time things got rough. I'm surprised that you've stuck around. Of course it's early yet.
Johnny Blaze
Let me tell you something you little bitch. I'm not going anywhere and you had better get that through your thick skull. Now this interview is over.
With that Johnny stood up and walked out of the restaurant. It was time to head for the gym. A nice hard workout would do him some good right now. Why does everyone think he would be like his father and just take off like that? He didn't care what they thought. He would just have to show them. The gym wasn't very crowded so it didn't take long for him to get into his routine. By the time he finished his body felt like it had been hit by a mack truck. That was okay though, nothing a little time in the hot tub couldn't take care of. It was at this time his thoughts turned to his match. Allen Anderson huh. The guy was nothing special. Just your average wrestler. Guys like him are a dime a dozen. A lot of flash and a big mouth with nothing to back the shit up. He didn't see what Dani saw in him. He knew just how to handle punks like him.

Later that evening
Johnny Blaze is sitting out on the deck in the sunshine having a drink and listening to some tunes. 'Crazy on you' by Heart plays over the outdoor speakers as Leo Bell walks back there with Thunder Hornsby by his side.
Thunder
Hey Johnny, look what I dug up! Just like old times huh? Always was getting your ass out of trouble.
Johnny
What the hell did he do now?
Leo
Some bitch told me to kiss her ass so I did, literally! She didn't like it very much and started beating the shit out of me with her purse. Hell, I couldn't stop laughing.
Thunder
Yeah. He laughed all the way to the jailhouse. Luckily the lady decided to drop the charges. I figured we would drive be here and see what was going on.
Johnny
Hell man, I'm not doing anything but chilling. Why? What's up?
Thunder
Tell him Leo. I think he needs to hear it.
Leo
My informant with the CIA told me that your father Night Rider is being held at some compound outside of Mesa.
Johnny
Well let's go then and get him the hell out of there. What are we waiting for?
Leo
He's being held by Louis Montego. He is one of the drug kingpins who migrated across the border. His compound has more guards than fort knox. The place is located at the bottom of a ravine with huge walls surrounding it. Eight towers with armed guards are in each of the corners and in the center going around. We'll have to take them out before God knows how many armed men will be inside.
Johnny
Then we are going to need some help. Let me make a few calls and see if I can get any of his old buddies to help us out. Meet me back here tomorrow morning and we will get started on things.
Thunder
Awesome! I can use a little excitement. We'll be back tomorrow.
The two of them took off and Johnny fired up his bowl. Finally a lead. It wouldn't be easy but he had to try. Besides, his father and his friends rescued him when Cortez had him.He owed it to him.
As for you Allen Anderson. I don't know who the fuck you think you are but you need some help boy! I can already tell that you're not too bright. Knight Rider and Night Rider are two completely different people. One is an idiot who talks to cars and the other is a bad ass mother fucker who would rip your throat out for saying what you did. He's held more titles than you will ever dream of winning. Especially with your attitude. I really don't like you and I couldn't care less about the garbage that comes out of your mouth but when you run down someone who gave their sweat and blood for this sport then you are definitely walking on the fighting side of me. When I get my hands on you I'll show you a fucking Ghost Rider! Like when I ride my foot up your ass and kick you in the throat. Boo Bitch! You deserve just what you get and I can't wait to give it to you.
