Welcome to Alpha Pro Wrestling!
We're a fed established in 2018 with a combined 25 years of experience in active rp competition behind us, and we're excited that you've chosen to take this journey with us.
APW is a weekly, competition-based fed with an emphasis on having fun. We understand that most people have a life outside of e-fedding, and as such, we try to maintain a realistic word count and rp limit. Segments, feuds, and cooperative storytelling however are very much encouraged.
Shows will be Published Tuesday nights, with an rp deadline of 11:59 pm Eastern time on Monday.
APW RULES AND STANDARDS
OOC CONDUCT
1. Treat everyone with respect and civility. You’re not always going to like or get along with everybody, but there’s no reason to actively seek or promote conflict.
2. Following rule #1, excessive drama will not be tolerated. You have issues with someone? If you can’t resolve it between yourselves, mods/admins are more than happy to mediate.
3. No carryover drama from other feds! If you left another promotion with hard feelings, check that shit at the door. We’re all about a clean slate here at APW; OOC grudges against other players/fed heads have no place here. We’ve all got history, let’s put it behind us.
4. ABSOLUTELY NO discriminatory language or behavior is permitted. This includes racist, sexist, homophobic, or slurs against any protected group. If you’re a bigot, keep it to yourself, or find another fed that welcomes that sort of viewpoint.
5. No harassment of other players or staff.
6. It is unacceptable to speak in a derogatory manner about someone else’s writing style. No one is going to like everybody’s work, but bear in mind that it is work. We’re all putting our best efforts into our weekly promos, character development posts, interviews, social media threads, etc. Constructive criticism is one thing; tearing someone down for no reason is another, and will not be tolerated.
7. DO NOT complain or harass management/staff about losing a match. It happens. Be an adult.
7a. DO NOT persistently ask management for pushes and/or title shots. You need to trust us that we know what we're doing, and if you have earned a push or title shot, you will get one.
8. Infractions of the codes of conduct will result in warnings for the first two offenses; a third will result in a one week ban; the fourth offense will result in a one month ban; a fifth offense will result in a permanent ban from APW altogether.
CHARACTER CREATION AND IC CONDUCT
1. Character limit: Each member of APW is permitted a maximum of three active playable characters; either one tag team and one singles wrestler, or up to three singles wrestlers. Managers, side characters, and NPCs do not count toward the active character limit.
2. Exception: Jobbers. Create as many of those as you want, following the template for a regular singles wrestler or tag team. They don’t have to be quite as detailed as playable characters, but please specify that they are a jobber. Once posted, unless otherwise specified, they become public domain and can be used by anyone.
3. ORIGINAL CHARACTERS ONLY -- NO REAL WRESTLERS
4. You may, however, use real celebrities, politicians, or public figures in the context of promos or segments.
5. DO NOT EVER -- for any reason -- use another handler’s character without permission. This includes promos, character development, and on-air segments. ALWAYS clear it with the handler first.
5a. Backstage staff, announcers, and other non-wrestling personnel are strictly off-limits. You may intimidate or otherwise threaten them; you MAY NOT physically assault APW staff. This happens way too often, and is not an effective roleplaying tool. It only serves to make your character look weak and foolish. Backstage staff/crew henceforth fall under the heading of another handler's character.
6. Please keep disturbing, graphic, or potentially triggering content to a minimum. We’re not trying to censor anybody, we’re just asking that you use your best judgment. If in doubt, ask a mod or admin.
ALPHA TITLES AND RP GUIDELINES
1. Only roleplays/promos posted to the Promo Board will be considered for judging. You may write as many promos as you want, however only the best* one will count toward your match. (*As determined by the judging team.)
1a. Tag Teams -- the limit is one roleplay per character OR one combined roleplay per team.
2. Beyond the Promo/Social Media forums are for entertainment, or to build angles/feuds, and do not count toward the outcome of any particular match. That said, the more actively you participate, the more notice your character will get, which may affect the character’s standing within the roster.
3. Standard weekly matches have a maximum word count cap of 3k. We use Word Counter to discover the length of rp's and so should you. You can write as many rp's as you like, although only the best one will count in determining match outcomes. Word count limits for titles are as follows:
Alpha World Championship -- 3k word count per rp; 2 rp's maximum
North American Title -- standard word count/rp limit
Junior Heavyweight Title -- 1.5k word count; title is defended weekly
Hardcore Title -- see section 3a
Tag Team Titles -- combined word limit of 4k per team
3a. Hardcore Title Rules: In the Hardcore Title Match thread, participants will post short roleplays of 500 words (maximum) for each post. Posts are limited to one per character, until the next participant posts. This is to prevent any one competitor from spamming the thread.** You may, in this instance ONLY, use another participant’s character. There will be NO maiming, permanent injury, or killing of another character; no god-moding or no-selling the actions pertaining to your character; no declaring yourself the winner. Judging will be based on creativity, storytelling, and how well you interact with/react to characters and situations around you.
**Exception to spamming rule: If the thread is idle for 6 hours or longer, any participant may post again, regardless of who went previously.
4. Response shoot (eg. direct reply to your opponent's shoot against your character in the current week's promo) is against the rules. You can respond to any statement made in any previous week's RP, but not the current one. You may, however, engage in IC discussion/debate/banter in the social media forum.
5. PLAGIARISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED -- and we DO check. If you use quotes from any other published work, cite the source and the author/artist. If you fail to credit the source material, your promo will be disqualified on the first offense. Second offense will result in a reprimand from staff. A third offense will result in a ban.
