Alpha Showdown; the first pay per view event since the unique wrestling promotion by the name of Alpha Pro had become an official episodic reality. Ever since the original event entitled "Alpha RIsing" the men and women of the fierce little promotion had been going at one another tooth and nail in order to create the global powerhouse that they all knew that it could become one day. However, even they could only pour their hearts and souls into something for so long before the repercussions of their reckless ambitions began to take root; and it was on this realization that the powers at be decided to allow a momentary hiatus following the monumental success that had been Alpha SHowdown. Yet despite their decision, there was one they could not hope to quell.
The ever-burning flame of competition.
Instead of using the week-long hiatus to recover and refocus, the Alpha Pro Warriors had been busy fanning those flames of competition. Nyeo Son and the Alpha Por World CHampion Masuda Jubei had agreed to face each other within the confines of a steel cage; following his abrupt elimination from the Alpha Showdown match at the hands of Bryan Worthy, the young upstart Allen Anderson had gone through several troubling ordeals before managing to gain a chance at redemption against his eliminator; the notorious Zombie McMorris had done what the Coked up Honey Badger was best at and hounded the Young Upstart endlessly; and a host of fresh faces had been signed to contracts of various natures. It was in this pool of new faces that an old face looked to make a new start for himself; John McCarty.
John McCarty, or "Jazzy John McCarty as some chose to call him, was a man that had fallen on hard times since the doors had closed for the Wrestling Championship Federation. Granted, his time there had never amounted to as much as it should have; the wrestling fans of the world were still very much awaited the "Jazzy One's" return. However, he had a fundamentally large task ahead of him if he wanted to make his official return a positive and memorable one. You see the one that was scheduled to stand opposite him in his endeavor was the woman that placed fourth in the Alpha SHowdown match for an opportunity to challenge for the Junior Heavyweight Championship; Alpha Pro's spit-fire fox, Tsukiko.
It was here, with the commonplace knowledge firmly within the minds of everyone, that the camera faded in to reveal the scene of the spit-fire fox hard at work practicing various devastating strike combinations upon a poor heavy bag that was suspended from the base that it had come with. As one might expect from such an unexpected and intimate look into the training of the young woman, Tsukiko sported a pair of dark blue shorts and matching short-sleeved t-shirt with the Alpha Pro logo alongside the proper protective padding that was necessary for such training. As she alternated between a particular set of two-strike and three-strike combination sets, her voice could be heard over the not-so-subtle sounds of the strikes landing; subtitles appearing at the bottom for those that knew the Japanese language.
"Despite my efforts, I left Alpha Showdown without the prize that all eleven of us strived for; contendership for the Alpha Pro World Championship. Even so, I can say that I did not leave without a prize just as worthy; an opportunity to face Lucy Sixx for the Junior Heavyweight Championship. Now, it is on this tireless quest for championship gold that a man steps before me with the hopes of hindering me and getting his own name placed into the pool of potential opponents that seek to dethrone Sixx-san; John McCarty.
It is to him that I now speak.
McCarty-kun; I fear you have made quite a mistake by agreeing to be my opponent on August fifth. While I admire your tenacity for seeking out other employment after the closure of the Wrestling Championship Federation and the desire to pull yourself from the pits of despair that you have fallen into following, it is in Fort Worth Convention Center where I must become that which blocks you from a successful return. As a former Wrestling Championship Federation Tag Team Champion, I am sure that you can relate and appreciate the opportunity afforded to me by the fourth-place finish in the Alpha Showdown match; a match that has its roots from your old home.
However, as a warrior, I am fully aware that you have no other option but to try your hand at defeating me as I pursue the Junior Heavyweight Championship. Here, in this competitive fire that every man and woman in Alpha Pro shares, that I have no option other than to soundly defeat you faster than the deactivation of the Tag Team Championships that you won alongside Draven-san.
Monday night marks the beginning of this quest of mine and I refuse to allow it to mimic the Television Championship ambitions that you once possessed; loss after heartbreaking loss. Fear not McCarty-kun, for unlike those countless attempts you shall not be forgotten here in the federation that I adore. Alpha Pro is a place in which you can unleash the heart of the warrior that beats inside of you; that desperately seeks a way to the surface.
Unfortunately, that warrior inside cannot match against a Shimmering Kitsune such as I. In the end, August fifth will end as your Endgame had; defeat.
A defeat that only a single Moon Breaker shall bring.
Be brave McCarty-kun, for it is this single Moon Breaker that shall free you from the despair in which you have fallen in. After Monday night; after your defeat; your path of redemption shall be illuminated by the moon of good fortune and you will fondly remember the four simple words that set you upon the correct path."
Suddenly, after a few minutes without any change within the rhythmic sounds of strike landing, Tsukiko jumped forward and drove her knee into the heavy bag; her left knee. Upon impact, the other side of the heavy bag burst open to spew out what could be considered the organs of that piece of training equipment. It was here, after a jaw-dropping display of power from the small woman, that she spoke the three words of English that she knew so well.
"Moneymaker. Moon Breaker."
With sweat glistening her body and a warrior's fiery intensity burning within silver eyes; it was predominantly clear that she was solely focused on her opponent as the camera faded to black.
With no mistaking it for something else, she had felt the murky muddled essence of negative energy that was the miasma the night of Alpha Showdown. Though the mortal men and women around her took no notice; she had. She was acutely aware that mortals around her wouldn't and that their ignorance would bear arrogance on the matter. Yet, she was keen on combating the threat unknownst to them.
The threat that lurked within the very souls of man.
"Miss Tsukiko?"
With a voice intruding upon her thoughts, Tsukiko looked up from the chair she was sitting upon; dressed in her in-ring attire. Not too far from her was the one that had been chosen as the messenger for that Monday Night. That's right, it was Metal time and her opponent was John McCarty; a warrior that everybody slept on when they really should not.
"Un?"
"You're match is coming up next. So please head to Gorilla."
"Rikai."
With a single nod of her head to show the messenger that she had understood their words, Tsukiko rose to her feet. After they had scampered away she went about the process of donning her black and silver kimono and mask. For now, she would set aside those thoughts and focus on defeating the challenge before her.
