Character Name: Masuda Jubei
Nickname: "The Master"
Hometown: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan
Height: 5’ 9"
Weight: 220 lbs.
Alignment: Mega heel who believes he's saving the world
In-Ring Style: traditional strong-style and an unexpected powerhouse
Bio:
The Master began a short-lived career in pro-wrestling during the mid-90's, but never achieved anything above midcard success. Deteriorating relationships with ownership soon led to debt and inevitable mix-ups with bad brokers. His relentless ring style made him a difficult target for regular thugs looking to collect on his debts. This impressed a number of powerful men - those representing an underground organization whose name cannot be mentioned in public - whom brought Jubei into their fold. He flourished in this shadowy organization until a weak turnover in leadership gave way for his rise into a position he has held for over a decade.
In the summer of 2017, a slimy promoter named Vincent Pryde asked for funds to make a company based out of Madison Square Garden. While most proposals would have been a swiped away from Jubei's feet, the prospect of having his hands in a pro-wrestling promotion brought a smile to a man many assumed had lost his soul. Its failure financially resulted in it being pulled from SYFY. Months later, and still possessing most of the company's assets - minus a few memorable faces - The Master gathered resources to purchase TV rights for a rebirth of New Blood Wrestling. All of which turned out to be a farce. It only took a few months for his talent to recognize the signs of a scam and run.
Truly, Jubei had insidious intent to build himself as he had decade prior. His nickname "The Master" came from his dream of owning the best talent in the world. Now, with the promise of new souls in the promotion Alpha Wrestling, Jubei has once again emerged from the shadows to full his dark purpose... for even death cannot best The Master. After selling the Masuda Corporation to Zion Simmons, he's solidified those residuals into making himself the most dangerous man on the planet, following his coma at a joint event w/ a rival company.
Attire: Wrestling: White mid-length boots and tights w/ taped wrists.
(entrance) A white towel with the Masuda namesake written in kanji draped over his head.
(Backstage) wears an all-white suit or haori if they're in Japan.
Pic Base: Minoru Suzuki
Theme: “Der Konig der Dunkelheit” – D
Entrance:
Lights lower to a dark purple with a strobe effect. Suddenly, a gong sounds with the beginning riffs of "Der Konig der Dunkleheit" by D - all while fog pumps onto the stage. The big screen reads these words in an acrylic Kanji font: Osama Banzai.... As the fog clears, the lyrics pick up, wherein Masuda Jubei stands with his arms crossed and the APW World Heavyweight Championship fastened halfway up his stomach. Fans boo his unveiling from every corner while past match highlights play on the Alphatron.
Jessica Kaine: On his way to the ring from Yokohama, Japan... weighing 220 pounds... he is your reigning Alpha Pro-Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion... "The Master" Masuda Jubei!
Masuda waits until after the main guitar riffs to approach the ring. His walk assumes regal authority, paying no attention to the shrill voices or random hands reaching out for him. Jubei walks menacingly around to the opposite side of the ring before scaling onto the apron. He holds the middle rope open - long enough show a glimpse of the World Title - before slipping into the ring. Once in the center, he unfastens the belt and holds it from one end so that it dangles from his wrist. Masuda then beckons the referee to his side, whom takes and passes the belt on to the timekeeper's table. The last big chorus hits just as he sets up in an open corner and gets loose. The music wanes but those deafening boos keep raining.
Favorite moves:
Submissions: any kind of arm bar, sleeper hold, neck vise (often holds submissions after a rope break)
Strikes: LOTS of elbow combinations, wear-down kicks, headbutts and especially strong style chops
Suplexes: dragon suplex, stalling butterfly suplex, saito suplex
Misc.: Dragon screw, grounded stomps, mounted punching
Top Rope and to the outside: Diving suicide spear through ropes or off the turnbuckle
Signature move(s): (Strong style) - Jubei likes to slow matches down with chopping exchanges, or, goad opponent/s to attack him
1) “Wani” – one-handed choke into a backbreaker
2) (Hardcore signature) “Masuda-plex” – saito suplex using a kendo stick
3) "Kappa lock" - rolling knee bar (to grounded or standing opponent)
Finisher(s):
1) “Masuda Driver” – Emerald Flowsion w/ theatrics that starts from a reverse suplex clutch
2) (Very Rare, will tease it sometimes but not use) “Fudō Myō-ō” – Stalling Gotch piledriver
