He couldn't understand why he was so nervous. It was just another organization, full of some of the sports greatest names. He was ready and he deserved to be here. It was time to take a stand and make a name for himself. He would give it everything he had and it would have to be enough. There was no question as to whether he was ready or not. The real question would be are they ready for him. He was stronger and quicker than his father ever dreamed of being. He would show them all what a true phenom was capable of doing.
He sat at his kitchen table rolling a blunt while Leo, his friend and roommate made a few calls. They were both in the service together and both were dishonorably discharged for kicking the $h!t out of some Taliban b!tc# who wanted to blow the both of them straight to hell. They taught her a lesson she would never forget. He went on to the police academy where he was kicked out for using excessive force. This time against a bum who threatened to stab him his first night on patrol. His dad suggested he find another way to release his aggression so he started wrestling. Leo ended up down on his luck and needed a hand up. Johnny was there and helped him get back on his feet. Now they were best friends only Leo had exactly zero interest in wrestling. He wouldn't know an armbar from a leg lock. Which was fine for both of them.
Leo Strube: Listen man, I've got the red eye special set for you on the ninth at four thirty in the morning. You should land at Stapleton by seven.
Johnny Blaze: Awesome job dude! Then I can pick up some good Lemon Tag.
Leo Strube: You and your damn Lemon Tag. I can't tell the difference from one smoke to another, it all gets me high as fuck!
Johnny Blaze: That's because you're still a damn lightweight. What about the other? Any word yet?
Leo Strube: No, not a word yet. Detective Bilski is still out in the Carolina's checking out a lead there but that was the last anyone has heard.
Johnny Blaze: Shit!
Leo Strube: Be cool, dude. We are bound to hear something before too long. Surely someone has seen or heard from him.
Johnny couldn't help it. It wasn't like his father to just disappear like that without letting him know something. He knew that something had to be very wrong. The last he knew his father was working on a case for their private investigation firm in the Carolina's when he disappeared. Johnny intended to find him one way or another. He said fuck it and cranked up the music on the stereo as he fired up the blunt. It was time to get high and worry about everything else later.
Leo Strube: Maybe you will find a clue with this new organization. No one knows who he was actually working for when he came up missing.
Johnny Blaze: Yeah, you never know. In the meantime I need to get a nice buzz going before we hit the gym.
Leo Strube: Shit!
