Looking back at what was back just a month ago when during the live January 11th show, in the main event, both Sky Edwards and Arthan Ardelean were on opposite sides of the ring in the co-main event in a Fatal 4 Way match. At the end of that match, after Sky came out of the match as the winner, both Sky and Arthan revealed that they were not just standing together at the end of the match but they stood together. It was when the two raised their Left hands in the air and pledged their allegiance to the group called the Left Hand, that they turned to alternative methods on one of their opponents, Leah Lincoln. Felicity was smart and didn’t stick around to try and help Leah or even face the man who just pinned her.
So while that was the formation, it was time for the Pay-Per-View and yet again, Sky and Leah faced off but this time, Leah’s title was on the line. The end of the match saw Sky walk away with the Strong Style championship. So looking at this match, the only one without a title to hold is Arthan. Of course he looks to change that but since their last meeting, Arthan and Sky hadn’t had much of a conversation as Arthan kind of brooded alone when it came to reflecting on what Sky had achieved and him, nothing. This may have started some resentment between Arthan towards Sky and so they didn’t talk much or hardly any at each other until this meeting.
This is the moment I have been waiting for, for so long. The chance to step into the ring with the crème de la crème of Alpha Pro. The man who has been North American for over six months, and I have seen beat everyone who has stepped into the ring with him since I have been here in American Jackson. And the man I have wanted to step into the ring with since before I ever signed with Alpha, the man who hasn’t lost a match in over six months, the world champion, Damon Warrens.
Damon, you are the reason I came to Alpha. You are considered one of, if not the best in the world today, and that is why I want to face you. My whole life, no matter what endeavor I ventured into, I strived to be the best. Well, if right now if you are the best Damon, then that makes you the measuring stick. It means if I want to be the best, or even in the conversation of who may be the best, then I have to beat you.
I want to be the best, and I want to sit on the throne, but right now you are sitting there Damon. And to your right sits America Jackson. The number one and number two spots are owned by you two, and I plan on changing that. You two have run things around here for well over six months and truly developed a monopoly over Alpha. You two sit at the big table and dine on the finest fruits that APW has to offer, and expect the rest of us to fight for scraps at your feet.
It’s time for someone to rise up and overthrow you two. What better time than now, and who better than me?
My relationship with my partner may be uneasy at best, but I am confident in his skills and abilities. I know he is more like the Predator than he is like me. Maybe our clash of personalities will bring out the best in each of us. A yin to my yang, where we counterbalance one another to put us in perfect alignment. A balance that will lead us to victory over the monopolistic duo of America and Damon.
It is time for a change in Alpha Pro, time for a revolution. Barack Obama once said, “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”. I am not waiting for anyone to change things in Alpha, I am going to be that change. Arthan Ardelean can either stand with me and help me make that change, or he can stay the hell out of my way while I make the change.
I’m not counting on Arthan or anyone else to make the change, I am putting that burden on myself. I will do the heavy lifting, hell I will do all the lifting if I must. But one way or another at the end of the night I will be holding both the Strong Style championship and one of the tag team championships. And I’ll be standing over a pile of splinters and broken bodies.
*Suddenly the studio door flies open and Arthan Ardelean stands in the doorway. His chest moves up and down heavily with angry breathing. Sky jumps from his chair and the lights come up in the darkened room revealing a small “confessional” style room.
Sky and Arthan stare at each other both men with clenched fists, and both ready to fight. Arthan shakes his head and points his finger at Sky and then speaks with an angry tone. *
Sky! (Arthan yells). I’ve come for someone and I’m not leaving until he reveals himself. Before you stands your opportunity and I’m not here for any other answer than a yes. You dare question if I stand with you? As long as you’re in this mortal shell then you will fall as I have seen everyone do before you. I want (he grits his teeth) No! I demand The Predator! We will walk together, fight together and stand together with one goal, become APW Tag Team Champions. You say you will do the heavy lifting. (He chuckles). You are focused on your rivalry and that is where you will fall. It’s only when you focus on the task at hand will we be victorious. So again, Sky, I’m not asking for The Predator to walk with me...I demand it.
Sky takes a step closer to Arthan, his jaw flexes as he bites down hard trying to quail his anger.
I grow tired of the threats launched by the Left Hand. I know your organization runs deep and it has many people in its deep pockets. You may get what you want from those people, but you cannot demand from me whatever you want whenever you want. I keep that monster at bay. I locked that monster up, and I’ll be damned if I hand the keys to that lock over to you.
Arthan smiles.
Oh, you aren’t handing them over to me.
Arthan slowly turns and walks out of the small room. Sky breathes a sigh of relief as his rigid body loosens and his fist unclench. Sky takes a step back and begins to sit back in his chair when someone else emerges in the doorway.
“You know what’s interesting about the dark, Mr. Edwards?” A tall, dark man walks into the doorway to the surprise of Sky, “It doesn’t matter how much light shines, or how quickly light travels… the dark is never truly gone.”
The Baphomet, in the flesh, walks up to Sky, putting his large hand over his shoulder, “It simply waits… waits until the moment is right and when the light is snuffed, the dark returns. You have to befriend the dark to really understand why the Predator is so useful, and why you are falling behind. You can’t be your true self until you and The Predator have united as one, and since The Predator is so committed to The Left Hand, it’s only you who must make this sacrifice… but it will feel like less of a compromise when you have fully embraced what our order has to offer.”
Sky looks at Baphomet, but something about looking into his eyes gave Sky a deeply unsettling feeling, and as soon as he felt that feeling he felt The Predator clawing at the door to get out. Sky looks down at the floor, unable to keep his eyes on Baphomet’s eyes.
Fine… you want him to be let loose, so be it. I’ll unlock the door and toss you the keys. But just know there is no controlling him. You may think you have him under control, but you never truly will. I’ve been battling him my entire life and I haven’t found a way to control him yet, so good luck to you. You have me by the short hairs, and my family in your sights, so for now… your wish is my command.
Sky shrugs Baphomet’s hand off of his shoulder and begins walking out of the room. Sky stops in the doorway and looks back at Baphomet who now wears a smug smile.
Just be careful what you wish, you just might get it.
Arthan stares at Sky and as the two lock eyes, he tells Sky, “I felt the same thing you felt when Baphomet found me. Now we must fight together for a common goal. We fight for the Left Hand but we also fight because it is what we do. When I let Left Hand consume me and take over, I found myself in your shoes. I was that reckless abandon and it was only when I allowed it to take control that I found my true self. Left Hand does not harness and they do not bridle but is about the embrace the within and control the uncontrollable. While we speak of the future, the future we have now is to etch our names in APW history by becoming their Tag Team Champions. With me or against me, we will do what Left Hand does best. We will cause destruction, we will persecute and we will sentence all who stand in our way, friend or foe”.
So while that was the formation, it was time for the Pay-Per-View and yet again, Sky and Leah faced off but this time, Leah’s title was on the line.
