[Alex Scott sits beside a coffee table inside his hotel room, wearing a white t-shirt with a gold chain around his neck and black jeans. Alex eye’s look’s up to across the table to an end seat out of sight of the camera. Alex begins to speak as he reaches down to his trainers and starts lacing up the right foot.]
“The start of 2021 started with a big bang for me, as last week on Monday Night Metal I was given a chance to go toe-to-toe with a legend around here in APW. I was given the chance to face off against Umeji. And with all the hype that Umeji brought around our match last week I swiftly ended his return and I beat him. That’s what I did.”
[Alex reaches over to the left foot and laces up his trainers]
“I’ve taken an approach this year in regards to my career and “it’s ALL EYES ON ME”, and that’s exactly how I have started 2021 and this week it’s going to be the same. This week somebody in management has decided to give me an all-access pass to unleash my anger issues towards my opponents. Management have been kind enough to allow this and my match this week is a falls count anywhere stipulation match. And the rule of the match is in the name, I can make my opponent pin or submit anywhere, it can be in the ring, on the outside, In the audience, in catering, backstage, behind the curtain, in the parking lot, out on the streets. The limit is endless and throw in the fact that we are allowed to use weapons also brings a smile to my face.”
[Alex remains seated]
“But this isn’t just a random thrown together match-up this match the prize is what’s important. The winner of this match gets a title shot at the hardcore championship. Now normally I wouldn’t even consider myself to be seen wearing the hardcore championship, it was never on my radar. But now that I’m in touching distance of it, then that changes everything. I’m thinking differently regarding the hardcore championship. And I’m also picturing it on my shoulder as I speak now, and it looks good on me.”
[Alex laughs]
“But my opponents are no joke and I need to take them seriously and first we have is “Sensei” John Fujiwara, and John I’m just gonna’ call you sensei too, OK. Sensei, you’ve had an interesting career, learning martial arts, battling criminal elements and now turned wrestler. It’s a story that can be made into a film, albeit not a five-star gangster film like Goodfellas or Casino more like a straight-to-DVD sort of film, Ya’know the films that can be found in a basket in wall-mart for $5 dollars or less. But Ya’know talking about movies I do love martial arts movies, but this isn’t a movie sensei, this isn’t where the good guy overcomes the odds and wins, this is where no matter how many cool and stylish punches and kicks you throw or land on me I’ll still find a way to win, because in this match, anything can happen. We can be anywhere and I will use anything I can grab to use in full effect. Whether it’s a chair, a kendo stick, or even a fork to stab you in the eye, I will do anything and everything, Sensei all your training will be worthless in this match, you will be subdued into nothingness after when I’m done.”
[Alex leans back into the chair]
“Next we have is Mason Martinez one half of the Indie Rebellion tag team specialists, and from what I know Mason Martinez is the smaller stature of the tag team. Mason you’ve not always been a tag team though have you, you Mason were riding high as a singles competitor for a while so my question is what went wrong for you? Why did you feel the need to team yourself with someone else? Was it for security? Always knowing you’ve got a chance at gold in being a tag team. Tag teams seem to be a dying theme in the wrestling business right now. Was that it? Or was it knowing someone would always have your back even when you were in the wrong, even when your mouth got you into trouble? Was it that?”
[Alex clears his throat]
“I know what it is Mason, it’s really that simple really, it’s because you’re a bitch. You’re a little whiny bitch that is not confident enough in your own ability to be on your own and try and make it. That’s the truth isn’t it Mason. Even in this match now you have the opportunity to have Christian Laurens help you because of this stipulation. And I bet you won’t have the balls Mason to tell Christian to stay back and handle this yourself, that’s fine Mason. Bring Christian Laurens to ringside, I’ll knock you both out. Neither of you are gonna ruin my chances at becoming a hardcore champion. Just know that.”
[Alex takes a deep breath]
“Then we have is Arthan Ardelean and the only person in this match that I would actually consider a slight threat to me. And I do mean slight. But Arthan you’ve not been here long, you’ve not seen the hurdles I’ve had to go through, you’ve not witnessed the favouritism or the sheer hand-outs past talent have got around here over me. I have a lot of anger built up, and for some reason management has sanctioned this match, maybe they know what they’re doing, maybe not, but what I plan on doing is unleashing my anger issues onto you, and the others, nothing personal. “
