“Oh New Year New Me is the saying right? It’s the saying that everyone will say every year when the bell strikes midnight and we enter a fresh new year. 2020 was a messed up year there is no doubt about it. But right around this time of year people are making New Year’s resolutions as long as they can, and most of them do not achieve their goals. The majority of people fail within two weeks. But like most I have made a new year’s resolution. Just one.”
[Alex Scott is then seen in front of the camera]
“My new year’s Resolution is to make 2021 MY YEAR. My year that everyone will see how good I am and everyone will know. It starts this week on the first edition of Monday Night Metal – Supercard show of the year. When I go one-on-one with a legend, a name grained in APW history that will forever be in. I get to face Umeiji. And Umeiji is not one for controversy or shocking the people. But no matter how much of a legend he is too APW’s past. I’m the future.”
[Alex pauses]
“You see Umeiji you might as well have been a big deal back in the day when APW was starting out and you even had your own little faction called Masuda Corp running around with you doing all your dirty work and helping you win the world title. But that was then, that was your fifteen minutes of fame and that was your glory days. Now however you’re just in my way. Now you’re in the ring with Alex Scott.”
[Alex pauses]
“You’re in the ring with someone who is in sheer focus on what he wants to accomplish and there’s nothing you can do about it. It will be interesting though to see if you still have what it takes in the ring. You’ve been gone a while. And maybe I can give you another fifteen minutes of fame. But know this you’ll end up on your ass.”
[Alex smiles]
“You’ll end up on your ass and the legend that you were will be nothing more than a broken man trying to capture his former glory. But you are not doing it off from my back, absolutely not. Umeiji I hope you have been training because I’m on form and I’m been in the ring fighting. While you be sitting at home watching me. Good luck, you’ll need it.”
