In a cinematic like scene, the screen shows a lush and beautiful countryside, like what you would see with an overhead view of the emerald isles. The camera focuses on a thriving farming community as the people go about their everyday life. All seems well, however, in the mountains runs a young woman. Her dress in tatters, tears streaming down her face. Just a few yards away, the lush green rapidly turns yellow and dies whenever a shadow passes by, leaving only frost and dead vegetation. The woman doesn't stop until she reaches her farming community and gasps for breath. One of the elders notices her and frowns.
What ails you child?
The old woman asks in a thick Celtic voice. The younger woman finally finds her voice and shrieks
The Bane! The World Eater comes!
All the merriment before leaves to be replaced by fear. The shadow reaches the village, causing the inhabitants to scream as the frost covers the ground. The screen then cuts to black. The screen then shows THe Bane staring at the camera at a shrine bathed in red light. To his right is a woman wearing a white gown and hood concealing her face who begins to speak
I am The Dark Mistress and I speak for his Majesty, The Bane. Just like how one does not feel the feed to speak to an repugnant insect before they kill it, neither does The Bane see fit to address you people himself. I am the voice of He who brings Destruction, I am the voice for the World Eater, I am she who heralds the end times! You were warned of The Bane's coming in ancient scripture yet you decided to forsake warning after warning. The Bane is let loose on those heathens that are beyond salvation. The Bane is what destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. The Bane is what drove the Romans to their knees. The Bane is why the Persians fell. Those that anger the divine send for The Bane to devour souls. So if you are the praying type, just know you are damned like the rest. APW has done the unforgivable and now, will be devoured for their sins by The Bane. God has shunned you, all of you. He has decided to turn his favor from you, He hides his face, because he does not want to see the carnage The Bane will invoke.
A song begins to echo throughout the shrine softly. The Dark Mistress lifts a goblet and, kneeling, presents it before The Bane who lifts the goblet and sips from it. The Dark Mistress turns around and faces the camera again.
The World Eater demands a soul on this night, before he devours Oni. And because APW needs to know what it has awakened, I present to you, Victoria Sabin.
The camera shows Victoria in her police uniform gagged trying frantically to free herself from her bounds in a chair. The Dark Mistress walks over to her and brushes her cheek
I see your fear, Ms Sabin. Or shall I call you Ms Marshton as you are no longer active in wrestling? You never thought you'd see The Bane again did you dear? You thought you'd save the vessel of the High Demon King didn't you? You thought you were enough to save Jason from the demons that rule him. You thought you, a mortal woman, could stop Jason's soul from being destroyed. You met The Scourge, The Jester, and even The Void. But it was The Bane that broke you, the Bane that you could not face. It was the Bane that stole Jason from you. It was The Bane that caused you to become a single mother. You tried to warn APW of the coming of The Bane because of course you'd see the signs. But your emotions got in the way of your goal didn't they? And because of your carelessness THe Bane is here and APW is unprepared. Poor little thing. You are merely not important enough to be the queen of The Bane, none are. Not even the Queen of the Demons is worthy of His Majesty. In my personal opinion, you should be slaughtered but my Master has other ideas. The Bane wants you to witness the destruction he has planned. He wants you to watch, knowing you could have prevented this years ago but did not. You shall become the first prisoner of this war. Thus you will take The Bane's mark.
The Dark Mistress holds up a red hot poker in front of Victoria who tries even more frantically to free herself. The Bane holds up a hand and points at her, getting the attention of The Dark Mistress.
You wish to mark the treacherous heathen yourself Sire? Very well.
The Bane walks over and is handed the poker. He kneels in front of Victoria and stares in her eyes. Victoria screams what sounds like a muffled Jason over and over again but as she looks in the Bane's hungry eyes, her struggles become weaker and weaker, you can see the fight leave her eyes. She looks hollow. The Bane presses the red hot poker in her head and laughs as his brand is burned into her forehead. Victoria doesn't even flinch, it's as if she has become numb. The Dark Mistress cackles and faces the camera
The first soul has been claimed! Take heed APW for those The Bane deems worthy will take his mark and live as his slaves forever! But I am afraid Oni will not be granted that salvation. The Bane has spoken that Oni must die, that Oni must be fed to the flames, The Bane devours the life of Oni and will claim it. There is nowhere to run or hide for Oni, The Bane is tireless, relentless and the embodiment of evil. The Bane will not stop until Oni is no more! As for Addy, I do hope the poor dear pays attention for The Bane has decided Addy will share the fate of Oni. The Bane has spoken and his word is the will of Hell! All of you, feel free to pray to your God. But just so we are clear, The Bane will not heed your prayers for mercy. Prepare for your...
