(The scene opens up and we are inside of some woods somewhere in Chicago it's a cloudy day. We zoom in and we see a small clearing. We also see Alex Scott. Who is sitting on a large log. Alex who is wearing some black jeans, a white t-shirt and a black leather jacket is sitting on the log with his Junior Heavyweight championship over his shoulder. A few feet away is a hole in the ground, next to a shovel. The whole bigger enough for a person.)
“Congratulations are in order.”
(Alex starts clapping)
“The beginning of anything new always brings a renewed buzz and excitement. And last week on Monday Night Metal was no different. Last week Leah Lincoln made her Monday Night Metal debut against Jamo. And I’m sure you are feeling buzz and excitement right about now knowing you had your first win under your belt. Knowing that beating someone like Jamo who some would say he is a monster is not just an achievement but also a statement. A statement that you have arrived and you mean business.”
“That buzz your feeling will sooner fade into doubt and disappointment. Because this week Leah Lincoln you’re not facing some half-wit monster like Jamo. Who doesn’t have a brain cell in that head of his. This week you’ll be facing a champion. This week you get a prized opportunity to face a champion in only your second match.”
(Alex pauses and giggles)
“And you should be proud of that. You should be proud of your win last week but facing me for my Junior Heavyweight championship is too soon for you. Because as much as you’re on a high right now and feeling everything is going your way. The second that buzz feeling is gone you’ll come crashing down to earth. And this is why I have set up this little scenery for you.”
(Alex walks over to the whole in the ground)
“Now Leah I don’t wish you dead or anything this is just a little taste of reality that you will feel once you step into the ring with me. Once you step into that APW ring and face someone like me. When you realize that I am nothing like Jamo and when you realize that my smarts and skills are unmatched. That doubt will creep inside you. That doubt of uncertainty will overall be your downfall.”
(Alex Scott smiles while holding the Junior Heavyweight championship on his shoulder)
“I just hope Leah that you’re a women of your words. I hope that once I beat you and I will beat you that you don’t run to social media and cry and whine about losing to me. Or run and cry to management that it is unfair that you had to face a man. You wanna seat at the table. Well you have to work hard and knuckle down little princess. A seat at the table is not something given to anyone.”
(Alex pauses with a sudden frown on his face)
“You may have survived last week against Jamo who is more or less a brain-dead walking corpse. But surviving week in and week out against higher calibre talent is something different. Since day one I have been doing that and planting my feet firmly into the ground here at APW. Since day one I have made my voice heard and since day one I have showed up week in and week out and fought for my place. Now Leah I will have all the respect in the world if you show me and everyone else that guile and guts you speak about. But my guess is that once I beat you this week on Metal that you’ll do what most do and disappear. And Leah I will beat you.”
(Alex pauses)
“Once I beat you this week on Metal and retain my Junior Heavyweight championship in sublime fashion Leah Lincoln you’ll realize that it was WAY too soon for you. You’ll realize that going up against a champion of my calibre was way out of your league this early on in your career and you will crash and burn into a dark whole.”
(Alex looks down into the hole he has dug)
“This whole right here Leah Lincoln symbolizes your fate for Metal this week. This hole symbolizes that nothing in this business is given and you have to crawl and scratch your way to what you want. This week is a nice little opportunity for you Leah but know this when the dust settles...”
(Alex points down with one finger into the whole)
“You’ll end up here and I’ll still have this.”
(Alex raises his Junior Heavyweight championship into the air)
“I’ll still have my Junior Heavyweight championship Leah because I have worked too damn hard to let anything or anyone takes my championship gold away. Now I don’t underestimate you, I’m sure you have skill; you must do to beat a walking corpse like Jamo. But my passion and drive will overcome what you think you have. My skill will outclass your skill and my HEART will out-beat yours. When the dust settles Leah I’ll shake your hand and you can raise mine as winner and STILL Junior Heavyweight champion. I’ll see you on Monday.”
(Scene ends)
