The scene opens and we see Brother Zeke sitting in a chair. The room is dark except for one single light swaying back and forth. Around the light, moths started gathering as if to perform a little dance. It is here that we see Zeke looking at a picture of Alex Scott. How he got that picture, well, that’s a mystery all unto itself as we won’t speculate on the things that Zeke does.
Brother Zeke: Last Monday at the Supershow was my greatest triumph yet. Did I win? No. I lost, but that doesn’t matter in my world. What matters is that I’ve spread His word, our Savior’s word to the people of APW, and now, at Vendetta, I get a triple threat match for the number one contendership for the World Heavyweight championship. That is truly an honor to behold. I will not disappoint. However, that is Vendetta and Monday Night is where I must set my focus.
Zeke stares into nothing.
Zeke: Like weeks before, I do not expect to come out on top against this man, Alex Scott as I have lost quite a few of my matches, but what I do expect, is the best match of my life. Alex Scott, he has nothing to worry about. He is a champion, he is the Junior Heavyweight champion, and albeit, I will never be able to fight him for the chance at his title, I will prove myself against him, and myself to God.
Zeke: I have failed him. Not in the sense that I lost matches. No, that’s not the case. I have failed him because those people boo me. Those so-called Christians who go to church Sunday after Sunday to only sin again the day after are pathetic lowlifes, and so do you, Alex Scott.
Zeke: Whether you admit it or not, you’ve sinned. Whether you are Christian or not, you still thank God every time you turn around. He is all we’ve got. Without Him we are nothing, and without that title you are nothing. You and I both know that. Why? Because you don’t believe.
I do not perceive you to be a bad man, Mr. Scott. What I do perceive you to be is a martyr. You are a martyr to the people of APW, the ones that I love and the ones that follow me. Oh, my little lemming, how I love you. You all know that Mr. Scott is just the tip of the iceberg, and he knows it as well. We have an advantage. He won’t be able to take me off my feet, nor will he be able to match me in sheer will or power.
Zeke: He claims that I don’t have heart. He must’ve missed my match last week. Alex Scott, as I’ve said before, you’re a martyr, and a martyr you’ll remain. Come Monday, that heart you say I don’t have, well, you’ll see it and much more. God gave me my heart, and He will surely bring me victory.
Zeke looks back from the darkness and over at the picture of Alex Scott as maniacal laughter ensues and echoes throughout the room as the scene fades to black.
