The scene opens inside the SiriusXM studios in New York. Seated behind what looks like your standard nightly news desk is a middle aged Italian American gentleman with black hair that's graying at the temples, dressed in a plain black polo shirt. A large screen behind him shows a shirtless Elijah Dixon sipping water from a bottle. Another, younger man, carrying a clipboard and wearing a headset steps into the picture and looks up at the screen where Elijah sits.
Producer: We're about to start recording, you good Paul?
Paul: Peachy.
Producer: Mr. Dixon? I know this is your first interview, did you have any concerns before we get started.
Elijah: I'm straight.
Producer: Ok, we'll shut the screen off now and once the camera starts rolling Paul will do the introduction to the show and tell the fans who the guest is before we cut you back on and start the interview.
The producer steps back off screen and you hear him counting down from three to one before Paul smiles and begins speaking.
Paul: Ladies and gentlemen I'm Paul Longo from SiriusXM Fight Nation and welcome to another edition of Mat Talks for SiriusXM Video on Demand. Each week we spend a few minutes with some of the lesser known names inside the world of Boxing, Pro Wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts. My guest this week is newly signed Alpha Pro Wrestling star Elijah Dixon.
The screen behind Paul lights up and shows Elijah, now wearing a white tank top, smiling widely.
Paul: Elijah welcome to Mat Talks.
Elijah: Thanks for having me Paul, I'm a big fan.
Paul: I appreciate it. Now before we get to digging into the meat and potatoes of your APW debut at World War Wrestling I always like to spend a few minutes with my guests getting to know them a little better. Can you tell me a bit about your background before signing with APW?
Elijah: Bet. So I was raised in Cincinnati by my older brother and his wife. I got in a little trouble in my teens and went to a military school in rural Kentucky. As soon as I graduated I joined the Army and spent 8 years all over the World ending up as a sniper in the 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment under Lt. Colonel Mason St. Croix and later Major Will Norton.
