I came here to make a difference. I came here to do what's least expected of me. I came here to be a winner.
Do you know what happened?
Oh and two.
The youngest of the Schorg family is oh and two here in Alpha Pro Wrestling. Things aren’t looking great for me… but I will continue to take on any challenge put in front of me. Whenever they need me… I'll be there. Whatever they need me to do... I'll do it. All I have to do is… the seemingly impossible.
Impossible is something I’ve faced my entire life. Impossible to live up to my father’s name. Impossible to follow in my sister’s footsteps. Impossible to break free from the tag team bond with my brother. Impossible is practically my middle name… and yet… I keep on keepin’ on. From here on out… I am going to redefine impossible.
Our adventure begins outside of the Arena Auditorium in Laramie, Wyoming. The Schorg Bros and Lexi Sparkles just finished testing down after a Legacy Championship Wrestling event. The time is… oh… midnight or so. They've been at the building since noon… so it's hard to tell exactly.
The bros competed in a triple threat match, which was won by LCW Tag Team Champions Duke Dynasty. Lexi competed in a ladies four way match featuring the only four women in the building who were not related. Unlike the bros, she was victorious… but only because Lady Shira forgot to kick out after a disastrous tower of doom.
The worn out trio exits the arena with rolling bags, headed to the Winnebago RV that they currently call home. After loading their belongings into the cramped space, they climb aboard and sit at the table to relax. Ricky opens up his laptop and he files data on their matches, merchandise, earnings, etcetera.
"Can't all that nerd stuff wait, bro? Just chillax for a minute."
"You know I don't "chillax", Chris. I find it's best to enter this stuff while it's fresh."
"Speaking of fresh… can we hit up the Iron Skillet on our way out of town? I have a hankerin' for a greasy truck stop burger."
"I'm good with that. We need to get gas anyway. It's almost a twelve hour drive to Oklahoma City."
"You got us booked in OKC?! Tiiiiight!"
"Well… I've got a booking for Alpha Pro Wrestling…"
"Very cool, bro!"
"I had a really good match there against Alex Scott!"
"Ironic that I'm also wrestling Alex Scott… and two others. I don't recognize the other two. Sara something and Renaissance… Tyler? Uhh… okay… the e-mail I got doesn't make sense. I'll check the card on APWMetal.com…"
"Ned the Intern is a good dude. He showed me where catering was when we were in Colorado last time."
"Okay. I've got it. The other two are Sara Cross and Renaissance Taylor."
"Ooohhh! Sara Cross is in Revolution1 with your sister!"
Sara Pettis is the Lexi's step-mother… and also the bros' sis…
"Who'sat Renaissance dude?"
"It's not a dude. She's actually a legit badass fighter, from the looks of this video."
He turns the laptop to show highlights of Renaissance Taylor from Alpha Showdown.
"In her APW debut… she made it to the final four of something called… Penultimate Showdown."
"That's a silly name for a match, bro."
"It is… but there were a bunch of big names."
"OH DAMN!"
"WHAT?!"
Ricky goes back ten seconds on the video.
"THAT!"
"She eliminated Dave Van Dam! We grew up watching that dude! I smoked my first bowl with him!"
The video concludes and Ricky closes the laptop.
"Well… this is going to be a tough contest for sure. I've seen Alex Scott in action… and Renaissance Taylor looks fierce. I'm still not familiar with Sara Cross."
"She's new to Revolution1. I think she had a tag team match last week. I haven't watched Sin for a few weeks."
"Oh! It also said that if Renaissance Taylor is pinned… the winner gets added to the Junior Heavyweight Championship Match at World War Wrestling!"
"Ayyyyy! Get that gold, bro!"
"One step at a time. I've got to make it past this match first. I've got to do… the impossible…"
Fade out.
The table for four is set at the Cox Convention Center. We are all hungry for the gold, and three of us are fighting to earn a spot on the upcoming supershow called World War Wrestling. This match presents a unique situation for Renaissance Taylor because of the target placed on her. The only way for Alex or Sara or I to get a title shot… is to pin her.
I wonder if that includes submitting her. The wording of the match is vague… but I would think it would include submissions. Either way… I would not want to be in Ms. Taylor's shoes at Monday Night Metal. She already fought some of the top stars in our industry to earn a title shot. Now she is essentially in a three-on-one handicap match in Oklahoma City.
Renaissance Taylor versus The World.
What happens at Metal will not be as entertaining as a potential comic series based on that idea. Let's take a look at the threats to Ms. Taylor's upcoming title shot. Alex Scott is the second longest reigning Junior Heavyweight Champion in APW history. He has probably had more matches in APW than anyone… and certainly more than his three opponents next week. I've seen his matches against Tsukiko and Eli Beazley. Of course I watched his match against Lexi Sparkles. He's good… but is he great?
Imagine how hard it will be for him to reclaim the Junior Heavyweight Championship. He will have to keep Cross and I down long enough to take Taylor out. Then he'll have an uphill battle at World War Wrestling against Giggles and Taylor. That's a lot of work for someone who has lost way more matches than he's won. I know that's strange coming from a guy who's oh and two in APW… but I'm just getting started here. Alex Scott is an Alpha Original. He's had over a year here to build his brand… and he's done a rather poor job of it so far.
The wildcard in this contest is a new competitor by the name of Sara Cross. I'm told she's also in Revolution1, which seems to have some crossover with APW. I saw a dirtsheet report speculating APW buying out Revolution1… but that's neither here nor there. Sara Cross must be good enough to have such a meaningful debut match here in APW. With one fall, she could punch her ticket World War Wrestling! How exciting! Her journey could inspire an anime story or whatever they're called.
Yeah, she's an anime fanatic… or rather the anime fanatic. She's into all that nerd crap my brother watches on his iPad when he's stoned out of his mind. I don't understand the fascination, but it's cool that Sara has something she is passionate about. My passion is pro wrestling. I was born to do this one thing. Excuse me for taking this job seriously. I don't have time for cartoons. Hopefully Sara can put aside the goofy stuff and focus on this match. She has a chance to make history… and I have a chance to stop her.
Most importantly of all in this match of ours… the lone number one contender Renaissance Taylor. She came closer than most to winning Penultimate Showdown… which was her APW debut! Brava! What incredible start to this new chapter in her fledgling career. She seems well versed as a fighter… but how will her skillset translate inside of the squared circle? Only time will tell. She did extraordinarily well at Alpha Showdown… and then followed up with a decisive victory over Von Vagabond.
Can lightning strike thrice? From an outside view, I would like to see Renaissance Taylor overcome the odds and go on to World War Wrestling as the lone challenger to the undefeated weirdo clown Giggles. But selfishly… I'd like to see things shaken up even more by adding another competitor to that match. No, not Alex Scott or Sara Cross. I'm talking about me… obviously. This isn't just another match for me. This is the opportunity of a lifetime to see my name in the marquee.
It's time to step of the family shadow. It's time to bust up the status quo. It's time to show Renaissance Taylor that she's not the only one with incredible upside around here. She's got a cavalcade of cool tricks up her sleeve… but I've spent my entire life between those ropes. If anyone is going to do the impossible and keep Renaissance Taylor down for three seconds while she's on her way up the proverbial ladder… it's got to be me. Dozens upon dozens of championships have been won by various members of my family... and now it's my time to add APW Junior Heavyweight Championship to the list. To do that... Ms. Taylor must be defeated.
The Renaissance Period in APW will be thrown into a tailspin thanks to me... and that will only make her stronger. Stay with me for a minute. By defeating her on her path toward World War Wrestling... she will undoubtedly feel the added pressure to make up for her loss. This will put her on the edge and possibly over the edge when all the chips are on the table. She will fight harder... and that will make her stronger. I don't know how things work in the fields of various fighting competitions... but here in professional wrestling... this is a time tested and proven theory.
Then at World War Wrestling... you'll see the undefeated Giggles up against Renaissance Taylor and Ricky Schorg! Don't believe me? Just watch! I've seen similar scenarios play out throughout my lifetime in this business. Time has a weird way of repeating itself. I've seen things in person that my opponents have only heard rumors about. A lifetime of experience is driving me toward the APW Junior Heavyweight Championship... and nothing will stop me now.
Now Sara Cross.
Not Alex Scott.
Not Renaissance Taylor.
Not Giggles!
I know it seems impossible... but I will become APW Junior Heavyweight Champion at World War Wrestling.
Impossible?
Nah.
