Jason is seen sitting in a wrestling ring in his garage. He looks down at the mat, at first not saying anything. He just lets the silence last for a few minutes. Instead of his suit from days past he wears a New Orleans Saints Super Bowl T-Shirt and khaki shorts with tennis shoes. Finally Jason speaks
“You think I’m enjoying myself? You think I like the man I see in the mirror? You think I like the way I turned out? I have sold my soul to achieve my fame. I have burned every single bridge I have built just for a few championship reigns and a few blockbuster movie deals. Life is rough. You can make friends, or you can make money. And when I was sixteen years old, sleeping on the basement floor of my former best friend, I chose to make money. Thus at eighteen I said to hell with it. To hell with bonds I had forged with others, packed my bag with what little I had and went to Las Vegas.”
Jason looks up at the ceiling with a sigh
“You’d think I have it all. I mean, nice mountain home a few miles shy of Woodbine Montana. At only 24 I am a two time world champion, once here, once in BPZ, two time double champion, one of the few triple champions in wrestling history. And Hollywood A -Lister. You name any earthly possession, I guarantee I have it. Yet, I have never felt fulfilled. I have lived my life in pursuit of my own selfish desires, yet I can’t seem to find any sort of happiness. I have tried everything, I numbed myself with drugs and booze, and my demons soon engulfed me until I became my demons. I became The Scourge of Professional Wrestling, the devil himself. I have ended the careers of many good people. “
Jason drums his fingers in the mat as he contemplates his many sins
“I lost everything though. I became what I wanted, the king of Professional Wrestling, the Julius Caesar of Professional Wrestling. But I flew a little too close to the sun. As I said I became my demons. There was a time I couldn’t function without being drunk, high, or both. I became trapped in a void with no end. I lived with no hope, there was an abyss that not even being the World Champion could bring me out of. The light at the end of the tunnel was my lord and savior Jesus Christ. If I did not find him I wouldn’t be here today.”
Jason stands up and leans against the ropes of the ring
“And now I get my rematch for the APW world championship. A title I lost three weeks after winning it. Not because I was beaten by a better wrestler. In fact, I never properly lost that title. And here’s a little something you people may not know. I almost wasn’t allowed to compete in that match. Why? Because I got so drunk and high I missed my first flight. I had to book another one and when I got to the arena the show had started. I wrestled that triple threat hungover, having to be walked through every step of the way. You say Zaigon Carter was better than me America. You say Zaigon Carter owned me. I made Zaigon Carter a star in this company. When no one in the back cared about him I was willing to work with him. Everyone said working with him was a bad idea, but I still went with it. Not because he was talented, he showed that for himself. But because he never belonged. Even as world champion, no one in APW respected him. Here’s the thing, he was just a cheap ass bootleg version of me. The suits, the promo delivery, the stable that took over. The Storm inherited the keys The Bloodline stole from The Architectects, hell he even left after losing the championship. Put us together and you’ll see damn near everything I did besides The Scourge he tried to emulate. Zaigon Carter was Jason Ryan Lite. But enough about the worst wrestler I ever stepped in the ring with.”
Jason leans into the corner of the ring, looking around the wrestling school he converted his garage into
“America me and you are on a collision course. The two most exciting wrestlers to ever step foot in this company. And you think you can put me down for good. Well better have tried and better have failed. You see, America , you have something I want. The World Heavyweight Championship. Something you may have noticed about me America is I am obsessed with championship titles. To me, winning gold is not a goal. It is a burning never ending obsession.”
Jason drops to his knees, eyes on the mat
“I am obsessed with the World Heavyweight title. It is the only thing I have left to live for. It is the only thing I desire in my life. And I will do anything, ANYTHING to get it! “
Jason looks up at the camera
“Understand this. You may think that democracy will overthrow all monarchies, including my own. But I don’t just have a monarchy America. I have created an empire. I have become the patriarch of my own empire. My empire will forever be mentioned amongst those of legend. No democracy will be enough to overthrow the Patriarch of Professional Wrestling. As long as the King doesn’t fall, the kingdom will not fall. And no matter what you say, no matter what you do, I will not fall! And for once you won’t have backup! For once I won’t have backup! It’s just going to be me and you! And if you think you can take me out when my own personal hell I had to scratch and claw out of couldn’t then you’re even stupider than I thought! Cause one way or another you’re losing that title! And I will burn your democracy, To. The Ground!”
Jason is perhaps the most focused and intense we’ve ever seen him but, can Jason get it done without The Scourge?
