The room was full of reporters facing the table with a microphone in the middle. Not quite as full as you see in the movies, but those are usually exaggerated anyway. The door comes open, and mechanical clicks aplenty go off as Zaigon Carter walks into the room carrying the APW World Championship in his left hand. He sits down at the table, putting the title on the table. He takes a moment to adjust the microphone, before just removing it entirely from the stand and holding it in his hands.
Mr. Carter: A good turnout, some smart people have arrived. Good. As of this time, I'd like to announce that I have signed a contract with Action Wrestling and will begin competing there within the next few weeks. The deal has been in the works in the recent past, but they finally came to the terms I put forth and as such have earned the privilege of one of the world's best wrestlers gracing their ring. Details on when, where, and how will be forthcoming. I'll take questions.
Reporter 1: So you're saying this action is in no way a response to last night's event where you lost your world title to America Jackson?
Mr. Carter: First off, I didn't lose my title. Some little dipshit got pinned by a much better wrestler, and because of the rules of the match the title changed hands. I was not pinned, submitted, anything that would result in me losing the title of my own volition. However no, this was done weeks ago. If I was still champion today, I'd be announcing this. Simple as that.
Reporter 2: Why do you have the world title with you? That belongs to America Jackson.
Mr. Carter: America Jackson is the APW World Champion yes, however this belongs to me. After last night's event, I bought it from America with cash. So he is champion, but this title will be mine forever. APW can make another one, design a new one, I can't say I care. But this is mine fair and square. Perks of being rich.
Reporter 3: What would you say to the idea that you're leaving the company because you've lost the title to your friend, associate, whatever you want to call him and you have no confidence in being able to beat him to regain it?
Mr. Carter: I'd say your fellow reporters can thank you for this press conference being over.
In a huff, Mr. Carter grabs his title and stands up leaving the room as reporters shout questions at him before he slams the exit door behind him. A few reporters glare at the offending party, who looks less than please with himself.
