As the bright casino lights quickly shift on, a large neon sign “The Drew” illuminates the smoke filled room. As a figure lurks within the shadows, a familiar “latching” of an arrow is heard throughout the room. Just underneath the trademarked sign, Gavin Drake appears before the camera itself. His eyes wide, but looking off to the distance. He is seen in a blue suit and tie, but he doesn't look very comfortable in the outfit itself. Almost as if it is not casual for him to wear such fine clothing.
Gavin Drake- “I have fought my way to this very position I was given.. The chance of all chances. A chance to not only prove to multiple people in Alpha Pro Wrestling why I am not to be instigated, but a chance to show my future opponent, the World Heavyweight Champion, what he will be faced up against.”
His eyes continue to look off to the distance as he begins to pace throughout the smoke filled room, walking in and out of the trademark light’s view. Gavin, taking a step into the light as he does so, twirls a kendo stick in his right hand. His jacket from his suit now removed from him.. The machines around him suddenly read “Jackpot” and go off as he stands still before the camera, glaring into its view.
Gavin Drake- “Nineteen other competitors going for the same thing as I am. Some of them could possibly stand a fair chance. Others will quickly fall beneath my boot, which is quite ironic considering that some of these bootlickers would act as if though when I say this that I am trying to state that they’re beneath me.. It’s nothing personal, rest assured in that fact. I am simply out on a hunt, and you are all my targets. Some would recommend that I focus on a singular person, and that I push my efforts and my anger management issues on them. But to that I ask, why only focus my pain on a singular target and leave myself prone to being attacked by multiple other potential threats? As a skilled individual, I must keep my eyes on each individual; not just a singular person.”
Suddenly Gavin is interrupted when APW interviewer, Danni Applegate enters into the Drew. Her eyes widen as she sees the “jackpot” signs surrounding a smoke filled room, with Gavin Drake standing center stage for the shot. As she approaches him, she excitedly stands beside Gavin, eager to ask him questions.
Danni Applegate- “Hi! My name is Danni, and I’m who APW sent to give you the exclusive you asked for.. Can I just say, nice setting! It’s a bit generic with the “jackpot” sign behind you as if you were going to hit the jackpot come Showdown, but I like the idea of it! Okay.. So let’s start with the beginning of it all, is that fine?”
Gavin Drake- “Whatever you think will work best for you, Dan..”
Danni Applegate- “It’s DANNI! Anyways, so you began your humble journey into wrestling in Ohio Valley approximately three years ago, correct? What was the experience there like compared to joining up with Alpha Pro Wrestling? Was it harder working at a low budget indy promotion or working for a larger company like Alpha?”
Gavin takes a moment and ponders on the question given to him. Danni, eagerly awaiting a response begins to almost motion her hands for him to quickly answer.
Gavin Drake- “I would say working for Alpha Pro Wrestling has been a new experience. I’m grateful to Ohio Valley, yaknow? They took me in and trained me when I had little to do. I wasn’t always so charming and sh**."
Danni Applegate- “Okay… So what would you say is the number one thing that fans should look forward to seeing at Showdown? I mean there has to be something that really is going to stand out with your style of wrestling?”
Gavin Drake- “They should already know my style. Come Showdown they’ll see the true potential of someone like me, who only has room to grow. They’ll see why I was signed to Alpha Pro Wrestling, and they’ll see what Zaigon, or any of the other champions are up against.”
Danni Applegate- “Alright, and that should do it! I’m Danni Applegate, signing off now!”
