The stage is set for Alpha Pro Wrestling to prove once again why it is the “Alpha” wrestling company when it takes over the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Monday night, August 31, 2020. The always sold out shows prove that there is a need for professional wrestling and on this night, there is a need for Aaron Blaze in APW. It has been some time since Aaron had found his footing in the company since his debut. He has been in a Hardcore/HorrorKore match and even found himself part of a stable. When he left the group, it seemed that his career had gone from the spotlight to the guy who handles running the spotlight. His name has been somewhat of an extra instead of someone who you’d find on the card on a regular basis. That’s almost how this night looks as his name is placed among many others in what APW is calling the Penultimate Showdown.
So what exactly is this match? Is it a Battle Royal where everyone starts in the ring and then you’re eliminated by being thrown over the top rope? In this match, counting Aaron, are Twenty (20) others who are bidding for the same goal, to win. What do you win? When it gets down to the final Six (6), those in the ring get a shot at a title match. So this match means that Aaron would have to have the stamina to last Twenty people in the ring and last out Fourteen (14) others to become part of the Six. Some have called this the Six Pack Challenge but Aaron calls this an opportunity.
The last time APW had seen or heard from Aaron was several shows ago when he was last seen Two weeks ago when he was made to look like a jobber against ANDREW BARNES. Barnes will be part of this Battle Royal match. Although he didn’t get a win, Aaron’s first goal is to target Andrew and eliminate him to get his retribution from the supposed squash match. Of course everyone’s goal is to win the match or at least become part of the Six that was mentioned earlier, but how do you make a name for yourself? Aaron’s goal coming to APW was to not just be part of the card but to be a name on the card that people would know, someone they would notice. Was it wrong to leave the group that everyone knew and noticed him then?
Names like Jaice Wilds, John Blade, Lex Collins, Lilianna Rose, Spartan, and Vonn Richter are names in which Aaron is familiar simply through his time in The Bloodline. He had to sit back and watch as these names competed on a card that either he was booked on or that he was there in support of his Bloodline brethren. One name that stuck out of those mentioned is that of John Blade. This man has been a thorn in Aaron’s side in every promotion around the globe that these two have been in. In those promotions, John always managed to pick the short straw when it came to an opponent so it was Aaron who would teach John many many lessons. It got to the point where John was Aaron’s personal whipping post just for fun because of the countless times they were put together.
Now despite the History of those two and the familiar faces, Aaron looks forward to this match as his way of being not just a participant in the company’s matches and to show that he’s still a team player, but his chance of getting back on the right track and if something comes of his showing, his chance at redeeming himself as to what he wanted to be when he signed with APW. In Aaron’s mind, he’s the underdog going into this match. The odds of this match with Twenty participants and Six of them lasting to the end are Twenty-Three (23%) percent chance that at the end of the match, Aaron could be One of the Six left standing. Heading into this big night, Aaron spoke about his career and what this match means to him. At a local hotel, Aaron laid on the bed with his laptop in front of him and sent out a message to all his Social Media pages as well as a personalized video which would become his promo for this upcoming live Metal program.
“Greetings my fellow Blazers,
Don’t adjust your screens, I don’t have makeup on as I’ve been training for a big night coming up. Those who know me, know that I’m one that never stops. I never give up and when the opportunity is there to take, I jump in and go for it. Well, that’s exactly what’s happening now. There’s a slim chance that I could walk into this match with Twenty others and end up as the last Six, or I could walk in and walk out with nothing. But that isn’t anything new to me walking out with nothing. I’ve been with nothing for a while now. Some would say that’s on me and yeah, it is. I decided to walk away from The Bloodline because I felt I wasn’t being used right. When I left, I still wasn’t being used right. Maybe it was because of my time with The Bloodline but I’m on my own. There’s nobody to blame but me. Now I’m looking to redeem myself in not just your eyes but mine when I look in the mirror.
I see a man who was broken that came into this company with a goal to be accepted and to prove to all of you what I could do in the ring. I had a chance to do that but it was because of my stupidity that I let that go to my head. I couldn’t just sit back and shut up and go with what everyone said was normal because I’m not normal. I’m an adrenaline junkie and always will be. I put my body on the line if it calls for it or not. Those who I’ve faced, I let get to me and lately, I’ve been finding myself walking away with gas money or no money and not even a pat on the back. It’s like I was lost in the crowd because I’m not in the spotlight.
I was in the spotlight with The Bloodline because we were making a rumble but that’s all we were doing and that’s why I stepped away. Now I see it’s hard to get to the top here in APW but I’m never going to stop scratching and clawing my way to get there. That brings me to this match. This is a way to show that all that hard work actually meant something. It’s a way to prove to you but also to me that I have what it takes to be APW material. Alpha Pro Wrestling is not just a name but it’s a company that proves why they call themselves Alpha because they are on top of their game. The question is do I have what it takes to run with the pack or should I find myself another pack to run with?
The Bloodline was a pack that I ran with and they ended up somewhere after I decided to leave and now they’re doing their own thing. Now looking at this match, people say I don’t stand a chance or that I don’t have a chance in a match where I could be one of those lost in the crowd but any chance above none is a good enough chance for me. I stand a Twenty-Three percent chance of being a Contender or being One of the Six in that ring in the end. I’ll be damned if anyone takes that chance away from me. I’ve worked my ass off for this company and to get this chance, I’m taking it and I’m taking down anyone who stands in my way. So come Monday night at Showdown, I’m walking into a den of wolves to not just be part of the pack but to make it known that I’m not a wolf in sheepskin anymore. It’s time I become part of the pack again and prove I can stand tall with the best.
So to the Nineteen (19) of you in this match, I’m putting you all on notice. I’m not standing aside and watching anymore. It’s time for me to stand up above everyone else and to make everyone take notice of who I am. I’m tired of being a beggar and just accepting scraps. Some of the times I wouldn’t even eat but tonight my cage is opened. It’s been too long since I’ve been this close to having a goal in my hands and having to go through Nineteen others to get it, it’s exactly what I’m going to do.
To remind myself of what my goal is, I’m going to do this for all of you Blazers and write 23% on my wrist because that’s my chance. That’s my chance of lasting and maybe this might be my last chance to prove myself. If things don’t go like I’m hoping, maybe it’s time to rethink who I am. Maybe it’s time to rethink what I’m doing here in APW or maybe it’s time to stop playing it safe and finally be the risk taker that I’ve always intended to be but never had the chance to be.
Whatever the outcome, my name will be known to those in this match and everyone watching. You’re going to know the name Aaron Blaze because it’s time for this fire to burn. It’s time to consume everyone who stands in my way and it’s time for me to take instead of wait. I’m tired of being a stepping stone for everyone else and being that guy that gets everyone over and ends up on YouTube as some “Where Is He Now” footnote or “Remember This Guy” footnote. It’s time that Aaron Blaze becomes a headline and that means that I burn everyone I come in contact with in this match. You cross me, you get burned. It’s that easy. So I’ll say it again, Andrew Barnes, you were the latest and look back at my History, I make good on my promises.
The rest of you, you’re going to become victims after I burn the ring with you all in it. I’m coming to claim what I stood back and helped others to get. I’ve stood back and let professional business get in front of what I wanted to do personally and now I’m personally going to see to it that everyone burns and I stand as the final Six, but I’m not stopping there. I’m going to not just be one of the final Six but I’m going to be the final one standing when the smoke clears and I’m going to personally see that your blood is shed all over that ring. I’m not pulling punches or giving a spoiler but I’m stating a fact and the fact is that Aaron Blaze is blazing his own path in APW and it starts tonight”.
Aaron cuts off the camera and recording as it sends to the proper channels. With just a few hours until APW’s big Alpha Showdown event, Aaron heads to the arena.
