Heyyyy there! Ned the Intern here! APW vs. The World aired on APWMETAL.com and it wasn't the longest they've presented but it was still packed with action packed wrestling. The Jon M. Huntsman Center was maybe three quarters full but I'm sure they'll claim it was at capacity.
The first match of the evening saw Daniel Christopher take on recently signed Shin, who looks an awful lot like first ever APW World Champion Masuda Jubei. I just can't place my finger on it. Daniel made quick work of Shin, not allowing him to get any kind of comeback before Daniel delivered a lifting single underhook DDT that he calls a Khmer Shot.
Decisive win here for The Mindless as he is now two-and-oh in APW. Then in typical and mysterious APW fashion… the lights went out. There was auditory commotion in the ring. When the lights returned, both men were just… gone. What is going on? People keep mysteriously vanishing from this place. It's a good thing new stars are signing every week.
And that brings me to the second match of APW vs. The World featuring the debut of Von Vagabond as he took on Ricky Schorg. Ricky earned the applause from the fans but that didn't seem to phase Von as he chopped Ricky down at every spark of momentum. There was a scary moment when Von went for a splash in the corner. Ricky dodged out of the way and Von hit the top rope so hard that he went over and crashed to the floor.
Ricky showed concern until he saw Von get up and drink a beer from a fan at ringside. Ricky caught him off guard with a suicide dive through the ropes. Ricky celebrated with the fans before getting Von back into the ring for a two count. Ricky climbed the ropes in the corner, but he took too long. Von was able to push the ref into the ropes and Ricky tumbled awkwardly to the mat. Von quickly made the cover for the one… two… three.
But wait! There's more! Von got up following his victory and he grabbed a mic, asking if the trash in the ring is the best APW has to offer. The lights suddenly went out again. A white spotlight appeared on the stage and in it stood Isaac Barnum! You know what that means! The lights dimly started coming back on and Giggles was in the ring behind Von. The extremely tall clown honked his horn in Von's ear, startling the newcomer.
Von turned around and looked at Giggles in horror, then punched the clown in the groin. The two scrapped around the ring until security came to pull them apart. Giggles slid out of their embrace and slinked back up the ramp, where he grabbed the APW Junior Heavyweight Championship from Barnum and waved it in the air, yelling out "See you at Alpha Showdown!"
And that concluded the shortened version of APW vs. The World for this week. Next week is Alpha Showdown… which will be yuge! So many titles matches! All the best titles! Ask anyone! They'll tell you APW had the best titles!

Monday Night Metal kicks off… not with a pyrotechnic display… but with APW World Champion Zaigon Carter standing on the stage, basking in a chorus of boos.
Zaigon Carter: Gentlemen and… ladies… my name is Zaigon Carter. I am the Alpha Pro Wrestling World's Heavyweight Champion. In my two months as champion, I have not felt such powerful shame as suffering an unjust loss against Cray Mitchell two weeks ago.
The fans cheer, remembering his recent loss.
Zaigon Carter: Rest assured that I will avenge that loss in spectacular fashion at Alpha Showdown. That is the most unpredictable event of the year, and I am prepared for anything… and everything. For a month now… you've all witnessed an experiment called APW versus The World. Well, next week you will see something groundbreaking: Zaigon Carter versus The World. I will defend against ALL current champions… and I WILL leave Las Vegas STILL champion!
They boo him again.
Zaigon Carter: One week after Alpha Showdown… I will officially break the record for longest reigning World's Champion in APW. So please. Bring out the entire roster to try to take THIS from me! You will NOT tread on me! I will be YOUR champion for as long as I see fit!
He drops the mic as "Don't Tread On Me" by Metallica plays… kicking off the spectacular pyrotechnic display to kick off Monday Night Metal!
Alex Scott VS Lilianna Rose
Once the smoke settles, Lilianna Rose makes her entrance, looking out at the unwashed masses with disdain. Once she makes it to the ring, Alex Scott makes his way out. Halfway down the ramp, he is jumped from behind by Sylk Michaels. He tumbles down the ramp and Lilianna joins in the scuffle. They double team him on the outside before rolling him into the ring.
Remi: WOW! I did NOT see that coming!
Clearwater: You should get your eyes checked.
Lilianna seductively crawls into the ring as Alex gets to his feet. He walks right into a bitch slap from Lilianna, that awakens something in him and he takes her down with a spinning heel kick. He goes to cover her but she slides out of the ring by Sylk. Alex gets out of the ring and goes after her. Lilianna slides back into the ring and Sylk stops Alex dead in his tracks. The referee warns her not to interfere and she hesitates before stepping aside. Alex gets in the ring and eats a spear from Lilianna.
Clearwater: There's the cover!
ONE!
TWO!
NO!
Lilianna get a up and argues with the referee, then grabs Alex by the neck. She pulls him up and he elbows her in the stomach, then scoops her up on his chest. Then he---
Remi: OOHHH!!!!
Sylk reaches under the ropes and pulls his ankles, causing him to fall with Lilianna on his chest. The ref doesn't see Sylk holding down his legs as he drops down to count.
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
The bell sounds and Lilianna escapes the ring to celebrate her victory. Alex gets to his feet and argues with the referee as the duo hurries up the ramp.
Jessica Kaine: Here is your winner… LILIANNA ROSE!

Victoria Sabin VS Apokalypse
Victoria Sabin was already in the ring before Apokalypse makes his terrifying entrance. The moment he steps between the ropes, Victoria comes charging in with a running dropkick, looking to get an early advantage. All that did was piss Apokalypse off. The big man swats away a second attempt at a dropkick, then tosses Victoria to the outside with authority.
He follows after and tosses her into the guardrail, then slams her into the edge of the ring before gorilla pressing her back into the ring. He followed in after and locked on The Final Slumbar, forcing Victoria to tap out almost instantly. The bell rings and Apok keeps the hold on as long as possible before releasing and raising his arms high in the air.
Jessica Kaine: The winner of this match… APOKALYPSE!
Meet Max Ironside
Max Ironside really IS The Handicapped Hero! For over a decade, a cult following has been built up, mainly for his hard work ethic and his self-effacing humor. Alexander Hayes VS John Blade
John Blade shows up with all of the pomp and circumstance we are used to seeing. Alexander Hayes comes out with less of a pop, but the fans are still into him. Once in the ring, the two men shake hands before the opening bell sounds.
Hayes becomes the aggressor, lighting Blade up with chops before whipping him off the ropes. Blade catches him off guard with a flying shoulder tackle… followed by another. Hayes throws a wild punch and Blade ducks it, hitting him with a spinning side slam.
Blade hits the ropes and drops a fist on Hayes, that causes him to inexplicably get to his feet, where Blade scoops him up and slams him back down with the Razor Blade. He goes for the cover.

Jessica Kaine: The winner of this match… JOHN BLADE!
You already know Lex Collins. Yes, the Sin City sAINT has returned to Alpha Pro Wrestling! This multi-time champion has held gold everywhere he has stepped foot in, including APW. You may remember his time as the longest reigning North American Champion in APW history earlier this year, when he opted to vacate the title before abruptly leaving APW and retiring in May. Why has he come out of retirement? Will his sights be set on the title he never lost? Stay tuned, Metalheads!
Andrew Barnes VS Cray Mitchell
Cray Mitchell is already in the ring, without Lilianna or Sylk as backup. Andrew Barnes makes his way to the ring, still favored by the crowd, despite his gruff attitude lately. They still see him as a future icon in this sport. Once he gets in the ring, he wastes no time in stepping up to Cray in the middle of the ring.
Clearwater: Two weeks ago, Cray Mitchell got the upset victory of the year against APW World Champion Zaigon Carter. Let's see how he follows that up tonight.
Both men are huffing and puffing as the opening bell sounds. They lock up and struggle to get an advantage. With a yell of rage, Barnes forcibly pushes Mitchell back to the corner before lighting him up with shots to the midsection before pulling him out with a belly to belly suplex. He goes for the cover.

TWO!
NO!
Before any chance of a three count, Barnes pulls Mitchell's shoulder up.
Clearwater: Looks like he's not done with The Guru of Glee.
Remi: I hate that show.
Barnes pulls him back up and Mitchell rocks him with a desperate uppercut before stumbling back to the ropes. Barnes shoots in and clotheslines Mitchell over the top rope. As he slowly gets to his feet…
Remi: Here come Lilianna and Sylk! What do they want?!
Once they reach the ring, Mitchell looks surprised. Lilianna slides into the ring and Barnes hangs back, seeing what's going on very clearly. The referee is distracted by Lilianna as Sylk kicks Mitchell square in the junk.
Clearwater: There it is!
Remi: I can't believe it!
Clearwater: Seriously?
Barnes goes after Lilianna and she escapes just in time, regrouping with Sylk. They head up the ramp and Mitchell rolls back into the ring. Mitchell gets to his feet and turns toward Barnes, who sighs and nails him with…
Remi: MENDACIUM!
Clearwater: There's the cover!

The bell sounds and Barnes rolls out of the ring as his music plays.
Jessica Kaine: The winner of this match… ANDREWWWWWW---
He grabs the microphone.
Andrew Barnes: CUT THE DAMN MUSIC!
They cut the damn music.
Andrew Barnes: Is this sideshow act the best you've got, APW?! I've had enough of this crap! I guarantee that once Alpha Showdown is done… I WILL BE THE FACE OF APW!
He tosses the mic back to Jessica and his music starts up again.
Backstage at Uprising
We head backstage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles where Dani Applegate is with APW Tag Team Champion Corey Black and Graham Baker wearing a FPV t-shirt.
Dani Applegate: Hello, Metalheads! I'm here with APW Tag Team Champion Corey Black and---
Graham Baker: ---and Frank Patrick Venable!
Dani Applegate: Well, no, this is Graham---
Graham Baker: ---FPV! FPV! FPV!
Corey Black: Frank couldn't make it tonight. See, we've been patiently waiting for a week to find out who will be doing the j-o-b to M-M-G at Alpha Showdown next week. So far… no announcement… no tweet… not even an attack! What gives?!
Dani Applegate: I was asked by APW management to come here and deliver the news that your opponents at Alpha Showdown are---
Shouting from off camera interrupts her announcement as three men step into the shot. Graham and Corey stand side by side as Dani backs out, fearing for her safety. Up in Corey's face steps…
Corey Black: Frank… fuckin'... Lowe…
Frank Lowe: That's RAGING Frank Lowe to you, bub. Where's the lesser of the Franks anyway? Boarding up his shack, scared of getting wet?
Corey moves forward, but Graham pulls him back.
Graham Baker: Eeeeeasy. We've got The Following to worry about tonight.
Frank Lowe: Yeeeeah. You wouldn't want to break a nail. Fuckin' pussy.
Corey Black: What's your problem, Lowe?!
Frank Lowe: What's MY problem?! What's YOUR problem?! When the Man Made Gods started up… I sent in an audition tape! You fuckers didn't even call me back!
Corey Black: Oh… okay…
Frank Lowe: Well it's payback time! Shooter and Noose… The Hangmen… they're going to prove that you ain't gods at Alpha Showdown! They're gonna take EVERYTHING FROM YOU!
Graham Baker: Corey… is this guy… serious? What a stupid reason to challenge---
Frank lunges at Graham but he is held back by the Hangmen.
Frank Lowe: LET ME GO! I'MA WHOOP THE SHIT OUTTA THAT---
Before the altercation can go any further, Action Wrestling security comes in and gets Frank out of there as the Hangmen follow.
Graham Baker: That was something. Hey, what happens if FPV can't make it to Alpha Showdown?
Corey Black: Then I guess you'll be making your APW debut.
He slaps Graham on the back and walks off set. Graham chuckles and follows as we head back to the Jon M. Huntsman Center for our main event.
:: MAIN EVENT ::
Phoenix LeStrange VS Eli Beazley
Still somehow not 100% after his match two weeks ago, Eli Beazley makes his way to the ring for our main event of the evening. His opponent for the evening as he prepares for a title shot next week at Alpha Showdown is Phoenix LeStrange. The arena goes dark and the red strobe lights flashes. Beazley watches the entrance, only to he bit on the back by Phoenix inside the ring.
Clearwater: Where did she come from?!
Remi: SHITFIRE!
Clearwater: Wrong show, Jonah.
The lights returned and Beazley fights her off, holding onto his neck. She ducks a clothesline and then dropkicks his knee, forcing him to drop to his knees. She then hits the ropes and hits him with a shining wizard, followed by a cover.

He managed to kick out, which only fueled her rage. Phoenix screams out and slaps the mat. She gets to her feet and stomps furiously at Beazley's lower back, which is the source of his injury from two weeks ago. She backs off momentarily, allowing him to get to his feet. She goes for a roundhouse kick and he dodges it just in time. Beazley grabs her in a waist lock and gets a back elbow to the jaw, followed by a stunner that she calls---
Remi: TEASE!
Clearwater: Phoenix goes for the pin!
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
Clearwater: He kicked out!
Remi: Nope! Sure didn't!
The referee calls for the bell.
Clearwater: But he kicked out!
Remi: Not before the three!
Jessica Kaine: The winner of this match… PHOENIX LESTRANGE!
She gets to her feet and pushes the referee away as he tries to raise her hand. Up on the screen is APW North American Champion America Jackson, standing in front of a waving American flag.
America Jackson: Well done, Miss LeStrange. Well done! You managed to get a decisive victory over my next challenger.
Beazley rolls out of the ring and looks up at the AlphaTron.
America Jackson: This doesn't look good for a man supposedly favored to take my championship by the Beazleymaniacs or whatever. You earned the right to challenge me and so you shall. But you, Miss LeStrange…
He pulls the championship up on his shoulder.
America Jackson: You should also be rewarded for defeating this poor man here tonight. In the event of your success tonight, I took the liberty of having my lawyers draft up an amendment to my match at Alpha Showdown to also include you, Miss LeStrange. I'll see you two next week when I'm standing over you, still APW American Champion.
The screen goes black. Phoenix and Beazley stare at one another as the show fades to...
William the Behemoth Contract Signing
Jessica Kaine is standing in the ring for the Hardcore Championship contract signing. The ring is covered with a red rug and there is a table set up in the middle with a clipboard. You know… like a typical contract signing.
Jessica Kaine: Ladies and gentlemen… it is now time to find out who will challenge for the APW Hardcore Championship at Alpha Showdown!
The fans cheer… but their joy is ruined when "Glazgow Mega Snake" blares throughout the arena. From the back comes a larger than average Rascal Scooter carrying…
Jessica Kaine: Introducing first… he is the current, reigning, defending APW Hardcore---
Fans: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Jessica Kaine: ---APW Hardcore Champ---
Fans: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
She can't even finish the announcement. William angrily drives his scooter down the ramp, with ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ following behind. The Hardcore Championship is sitting in the basket on the scooter. Once he reaches the bottom of the ramp, he takes a break to eat a pound of beef jerky while slurping on a 512 ounce Child Size soda from Paunch Burger. He throws his trash into the crowd and demands ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ help him up.
Remi: Look at this man. A true fighting champion. He came all this way to sign a silly piece of paper.
Clearwater: Uuhhmm… he's got an enormous brace on his left knee…
Remi: I know! How brave!
Clearwater: But last week his right knee was injured…
Remi: Yeah… but… uuuhhh… BABA BOOEY! BABA BOOEY!
❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ helps William up the enormous additional ringsteps, and into the ring. The fans are still booing relentlessly but they simmer down so Jessica can finally speak. The music dies down also.
Jessica Kaine: Welcome to Monday Night Metal, William the Behemoth. First of all, congratulations on winning---
William smacks the microphone out of her hand, and the fans go back to booing him. ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ picks it up and hands it to William. He sets the championship down on the table and then looks out at the fans.
William: SHUT YOUR TINY STUPID MOUTHS!!!
Fans: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
William: YOUR HARDCORE CHAMPION COMMANDS YOU!
Fans: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
He looks at Jessica.
William: What is this contract even for?! I've beaten every midget on this flat planet! You've got to be at least THIS TALL TO FIGHT MEEEEE!!!!
He holds his hand to his eye level.
William: My gigantic undefeated streak will go on and on, my friends! So at Alpha Showdown… I am going to squash…
He looks down at the contract on the table… and his face goes pale. Then there is a long, dramatic pause.

William: ET TU, TRAVIS?!
He holds the contract up and looks ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ in the eyes. The roof is nearly blown off of the Jon M. Hunstman Center. ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ picks up the pen from the table and scribbles his signature, then throws his arms up in the air.
Remi: WHAT THE HELL?! TRAVIS IS CHALLENGING WILLIAM?! THIS CAN'T BE!
William drops the mic and shouts obscenities at ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎, who just stares through with a blank stare, like he's not even on this planet. William grabs the pen and signs the paper.
Clearwater: I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING!
The fans go next level bonkers. William then stabs ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ in the dick with the pen and the fans go back to booing the shit out of him. He falls to the mat, desperately trying to remove the pen. William removes the massive brace from his knee and he repeatedly hits ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ with it. He then picks the title up, holding it over ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ while shouting more very mean words at him… and the show goes off the air...
