Another episode of APW vs. The World took place on APWMETAL.com and it introduced four new stars to APW! First up was a match between Ricky Schorg and Daniel "The Mindless" Christopher. What a cool way to kick things off. Both wrestlers were very quick on their feet and able to counter moves without fail. That was working until Schorg ducked a clothesline and caught Christopher with a springboard dropkick.
Schorg lit him up with various kicks before pulling him in for a suplex. Schorg hoisted him up and he slipped behind, delivering multiple German suplexes. The fans cheered for him and he patted himself on the back momentarily, before pulling Schorg up and setting him up for a powerbomb. He lifted Schorg up, who laid in some heavy hands and then hurricanrana'd Christopher, laying The Mindless resting over the middle rope.
Schorg clapped his hands and the fans joined in. He hit the ropes and went for a 718. Christopher backed out of the ropes in time, evading the kick. Schorg springboarded into the ring and Christopher wrecked him with Devil's Karma. Christopher covered him for the one… two… three! Congrats to Daniel Christopher in his debut match for APW!
Next up… former APW Junior Heavyweight Champion Alex Scott returned to action against bubbly newcomer Lexi Sparkles! Scott poked fun at her for being a little girl in a man's world and he told her to walk on home for nap time. She turned to leave but then hit him with a spinning kick to the stomach, then a springboard double stomp to his back. After a quick two count, Scott pushed up and made his way to the corner.
Lexi charged in and nailed him with a double knee attack. Fired up and overzealous, Lexi pulled Scott out and went for her dad's finisher but Scott held onto her legs and locked them into a cloverleaf submission hold. The hold didn't last long as Lexi was able to reach the bottom rope. Scott released the hold and pulled Lexi up to her feet. He hit her with a snapmare/front kick combo. Following a two count, Scott got pissed and dragged Lexi up, only to eat a jawbreaker from her.
She followed up with some swift kicks and a jumping facebuster. Instead of going for a cover, she climbed the ropes in the corner. She stood all the way up but got distracted by the roar of the crowd and Scott was able get up and hit the ropes. She tumbled to the mat, landing pretty rough. Scott quickly covered her for the one… two… three!
The main event, I guess, of APW vs. The World saw Soul Reaver take on newcomer Tony Dang. The match started out with a shouting match between Dang and Johnny Class, as Reaver mean mugged Dang from across the ring. Their insults definitely had to be bleeped out for the broadcast. The match finally began after some direction from Class. After ducking an enormous clothesline, Dang put out his cigar on Reaver's chest.
Reaver wasn't phased by this and he delivered an overhead chop to Dang, who collapsed on impact. Reaver knelt down and placed a hand on Dang, who kicked out after two and squirmed to shove one of Reaver's fingers in a cigar cutter, but they were all way too girthy to fit. Reaver pulled back and the ref took the foreign object from Dang. Reaver went for an elbow drop and Dang rolled out of certain harm's way.
The ring shook and Reaver favored his elbow. Dang pulled out a flask and took a swig, not like that had any effect on his performance. He stomped away at Reaver as the big man pushed up to his feet. Reaver absorbed a clothesline from Dang, then a game of cat and mouse began. Dang narrowly escaped the ginormous man. Both men grew tired and they stopped when Class jumped up on the apron.
He waved Soul Reaver over, excitedly telling him that they scored a meeting with Action Wrestling, but they have to get on a plane immediately. Reaver blew off Dang and he left the ring, following Class up the ramp as the referee reluctantly counted Reaver out. Dang was declared victorious, and he celebrated like he just placed gold at the Summer Olympics.
That concludes APW vs. The World for this week. Head over to Netflix to catch another thrilling episode of Monday Night Metal! Man Made Gods are back and defending the APW Tag Team Championship in the main event!
