THE ROAD SO FAR… (2/3)
WHAT IS THE QUESTION?
Ricky: What's so funny?
Lexi: The guy's name… is Chicken Nuggz…
Chris: Yeaaaah?
Lexi: That sounds like a crappy SoundCloud rapper.
Chris: Oh! So you've heard of him!
She stops laughing.
Lexi: Ohh… uhh… well…
Ricky: It's okay, Lexi. You're going to meet a lot of strange people on our adventures. Chris has a lot of… interesting… friends out there.
Lexi: Cool! I like meeting new friends!
Ricky: You'll probably regret that. 😄
Lexi: I'm just totes excited to wrestle again! It's been a rough couple of weeks. It'll be awesome to go out there and tear it up with… what's his name again?
Ricky: Alex Scott. He's a former APW Junior Heavyweight Champion.
Lexi: Is that the same Alex Scott from Action Wrestling?
Ricky: Yup. Former AW Cruiserweight Tag Team Champion.
Lexi: Oh wow! He must be really good!
Ricky: He's decent. Not a lot of wins… but he's got heart. He pushes through defeat and prepares for the next challenge.
Chris: He also knows like a LOT of moves!
Ricky: Oh, for sure. He just doesn't make it far enough into a match to hit many of them.
Lexi: Has he wrestled lately?
Ricky: He had a match against Eli Beazley a few weeks ago… and the match was over in like two minutes. I got up to grab a soda… and it was over before I got back.
Lexi: To be fair… Beazley is really, really good.
Ricky: No doubt. He was too much for Alex Scott.
Lexi: I sure hope that I'm too much, too. I haven't faired well in my last few matches… and since my dad died… well…
Ricky: It's been hard on all of us. You're kind of lucky though. Yeah, he was your dad… but you only knew him for a year… while we---
Chris: ---have known him all of our lives. He was always like a big brother to us. More so than our actual brother Kevin.
Lexi: You're right. I can't imagine how this has been for you. I'm so sorry I never asked.
Ricky: No worries. We're all processing in our own ways. Sara is continuing to fight… for him. Chris is trying to smoke less weed so he has some semblance of balance in his life. I'm… not really ready… to deal with it all… but the only way out is through.
Lexi: And together we're gonna take over APW!
Ricky: Don't get too far ahead of yourself. You're still suuuuper green and you've got a LOT to learn. Alex Scott isn't great but there's so much you can learn from working with him on Monday. Keep your eyes open… and watch out for The Answer.
Lexi: What's The Answer?
Chris: What's the question?
Ricky: The Answer is his finisher. He doesn't hit it often… but when he does… game over.
Lexi: If I don't want The Answer… then I better not ask… The Question! 😄
Lexi and Chris laugh hysterically while Ricky sighs.
Ricky: Suuuuure. Okay.
Lexi: All jokes aside. This match is going to be a lot of fun. Win or lose… I'm just super happy to get booked. Sure… winning would be cool… especially at the expense of a former Junior Heavyweight Champion. That would catch APW's attention for sure!
Ricky: No doubt. The roster seems to have taken a hit in recent weeks, hence the APW vs. The World gimmick. They're in recruiting mode right now… and signing the two of us would be good for business.
Chris: Aaaaaaaand me, too, bro!!!1
Ricky: Sure. Yes. You, too, Chris.
Chris: Ya think if they need a last minute replacement… I might could get booked?
Ricky: Anything is possible.
Lexi: Good thing we'll be living in the RV. You'll always have your gear available.
Ricky: Good thinking. You should always go to shows with gear… just in case.
Chris: One of the first lessons our dad taught us.
Lexi: Mine, too. When you guys are done up here… I'll be out in the driveway. Kevin should be done changing the oil in the RV by now… and he wanted to go over a few things with us.
Ricky: Wooooord!
