Hello there! Ned the Intern here! Due to the monumental Hardcore Championship Match on tonight's episode, APW decided to air some of the show online rather than airing it on the official broadcast on Netflix. That's a pretty cool use of the platform, and it also gives me a chance to write a review.

The show kicked off with Jessica Kaine hyping up the crowd. She spoke heavily about the fatal four way, where the winner will go on to face America Jackson at Showdown. It was then that she revealed Oblivion had not arrived to the building yet, leaving that match clouded by mystery. As she ran down the rest of the card, Apokalypse rudely interrupted her as he stormed to the ring.

He went on a tirade about how APW is a joke for even considering John Blade as a worthy opponent for him. He was then interrupted by John Blade who sprinted to the ring. Blade ducked a big boot and hit the ropes, connecting with a huge shoulder tackle. Blade continued to rock Apok with power moves until Apok shoot headbutted Blade's nose. It was gruesome and it looked like the referee would call the match off.

John Blade never gave up. He never surrendered. He fought through the pain and endured the torture from the mighty Apokalypse. After hitting Blade with a devastating Ozone Drop, he placed a hand on Blade's chest, assuming that would be the end of the match… until Blade kicked out! The fans went next level bonkers! Their never-ending support of Blade kicked into high gear!

It was hard to tell if Apokalypse was more angry that Blade kicked out… or more angry at the reaction from the fans. His rage built up until he mounted Blade and unleashed it on Blade in the form of stiff elbow strikes. The referee started to count and then urged Apok to ease up on the attack. Apok ignored him until he grabbed Apok's arm. The big, bad dude shoved the ref back and then got to his feet… before nearly decapitating the ref with a big boot!

Third week in a row with a loss by disqualification! How has he NOT been reprimanded by APW yet?

Following the bell, Apokalypse continued his attack on Blade until the sweet sound of Gojira's Oroborus blew the roof off of the Met Center! The Man Made Gods stormed the ring and brawled with Apokalypse, eventually connecting with a sandwich elbow smash. Apok tucked his tail and escaped the ring as the fans chanted for our Tag Team Champions.

And then… wow… Black and Venable helped Blade up. He looked shocked that his heroes had saved his life. Black took a microphone and… well… here's a clip…

Corey Black: Ladies and gentlemen… John Blade! Wow! What a performance, John. You fought valiantly tonight. Frank and I were watching the whole thing… and your heart is impressive. What's even more impressive… is your bravery to keep calling us out week after week. Did you think we wouldn't notice? So you want a shot at the… uhh… Man of Made? You got it, pal! Let's not wait until Showdown. Let's do this… next week on Metal! Man Made Gods versus John Blade… and a partner of his choosing!

The raw emotion displayed as John Blade's dream was coming true in front of his eyes was… just… wow. He shook their hands before grabbing the mic. Then… this happened…

John|Blade: Thank you much! Next week against Man of Made Alpha Wrestling tag team titles… I choose partner to be… APOKALYPSE!

Apokalypse wasn't even to the back yet when he heard that, and he turned around with a confused look. Black and Venable also looked confused. It was just… so… confusing. There you have it. Breaking news. Man Made Gods will defend the APW Tag Team Championship next week against John Blade… and… Apokalypse.

❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ VS Alexander Hayes

What a unique matchup between ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ of Very Big Supervillains and a man called Alexander Hayes. If that name sounds familiar… then you're a huge nerd. The world has not heard from Hayes in several years… but today he's here in Minneapolis for a match against the gigantic ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎.

He's not as massive as his VBS tag team partner William the Behemoth, but man… seven feet tall is seven feet tall. When the two stand face to face… Hayes gets chills all throughout his body. ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ shouts at him in wingdings and he looks confused. Hayes looks over to the referee, who shrugs his shoulders. Hayes swings back and punches ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ right in the jaw.

❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ throws up a finger, possibly asking for one more. Hayes swings back and throws another fist… that ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ catches with his teeth. He bites down on Hayes' fist and the referee scolds him for (maybe) an illegal hold (probably). ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ releases his fist, which is now bleeding. ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ tears a piece of his mummy robe and he offers it to Hayes, who wraps his bloody hand.

Clearwater: Well that was nice of him!

Remi: Maybe he's not a supervillain after all.

❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ obliterates Hayes with a big boot.

Remi: Nevermind.

The fans boo him tremendously and he isn't phased in the slightest. ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ places his boot on Hayes' chest and pushes down. The referee scolds him, and he is nearly disqualified. ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ reaches down and wraps his massive paws around Hayes' neck, pulling him off of the mat. He lifts Hayes' up, intending to deliver ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎🕯︎ ☞︎♓︎■︎♓︎⬧︎♒︎♏︎❒︎… but Hayes clobbers his giant dome with a tomahawk chop. ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ releases the hold and he staggers back to the rope, giving Hayes some time to recuperate.

Hayes gains confidence as he approaches the giant and he starts chopping away at him with intense kicks. Both of his massive knees get rocked by Hayes, who then climbs the ropes in the corner as the fans cheer him on. He comes off the top with a super tomahawk chop… but ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎ catches his throat and he delivers ❄︎❒︎♋︎❖︎♓︎⬧︎🕯︎ ☞︎♓︎■︎♓︎⬧︎♒︎♏︎❒︎ in the center of the ring!

Remi: TRAVIS' FINISHER!

Clearwater: There's the cover!

Hi, friends! It's me again! Ned the Intern! I'm excited to review more action packed action from Monday Night Metal… exclusive to APWMetal.com! Yes… a totally real website! So exciting!

The next match was between Victoria Sabin and Vince Garza… I mean… Vinny! He was accompanied to the ring by Junior Heavyweight Champion Giggles! We haven't seen much of the champ lately. I wonder how long until he has to defend his title. Eli Beazley defended it practically every week. Anyway… Victoria Sabin made her way to the ring next and she made it clear that she wanted a shot at Giggles.

That would be a bizarrely fun match!

Anyway… this was Vinny's first match since February? Maybe? Then he just randomly popped up last week… repackaged… alongside Giggles. Now with a creepy mask… he has a new purpose in APW. This match started off hot with Victoria hitting a springboard dropkick as soon as she got to the ring. Realizing she was fighting an uphill battle, she unloaded a truckload of kicks on Vinny. Eventually he had enough and escaped the ring to seek safety behind Isaac Barnum. She went for a suicide dive but stopped at the last second, not wanting to attack the old man.

This proved to be a mistake, as Vinny shot around Barnum and swept her legs… dragging her out and then another pair of arms dragged her underneath the ring. She let out a blood curdling scream and crawled out from under the ring covered in… lemon meringue pie. Vinny was back in the ring by then as Giggles crawled out after her. She slid in the ring… literally. Vinny pulled her up and tried to body slam her but she easily slipped behind him, going for a quick rollup.

She only got a one count as Vinny powered out of the rollup. He hit her with a powerful clothesline before being commanded by Barnum to squeeze the life out of her. He nodded and pulled her up into a bearhug… but then… you guessed it… she slid right out. Following a Warning Shot to Vinny, Victoria quickly climbed the ropes in the corner and soared off with a phoenix splash in mind. The unthinkable happened as Vinny absorbed the impact and held on to Victoria… rolling her into his Sweet Release submission hold. She tried to squirm out of it but she was ultimately unsuccessful.

Victoria Sabin tapped out to Vinny in his return match. Following the match, Giggles slithered into the ring and teased Victoria with his Junior Heavyweight Championship… before the lights suddenly went out. When they came back on… everyone was missing… including the referee. Weeeeeeird stuff, folks.

Dave Van Dam & Mike Zybala VS Lilianna Rose & Phoenix LeStrange

Dave Van Dam and Mike Zybala make their way to the ring together, slapping hands and taking pictures with the fans at ringside. It’s been so long since DVD has been around fans that he’s soaking up the love. Zybala tugs on his arm and reminds him they're here to wrestle. Next out is Phoenix LeStrange, making her return to APW. The final combatant is Lilianna Rose, who stares daggers at her own partner on her way to the ring.

Remi: These two hate each other. Why are they partners tonight?

Clearwater: I think whomever has the pencil believes in the "controversy creates cash" theory.

Dave and Mike hang out in their corner as their opponents argue with each other over who will start the match off. The shouting match turns physical and the referee holds them apart. Phoenix is held back and Lilianna decides she is starting the match, along with Dave. The bell rings and Lilianna sends Dave to the mat with a surprise dropkick. The two meet up again with her taking him down with a headscissor takedown. Both are up again. She ducks a clothesline and hits the ropes. He bends down for a back body drop but she sunset flip pins him for only a one count.

Dave gets up and walks to make a tag but ends up in an empty corner. Lilianna comes charging in and Dave thinks quickly, guiding her shoulder first into the ring post. He pulls her out and delivers a double underhook suplex, sending her crashing hard to the mat. Lilianna begins to crawl to her corner as Phoenix looks on with disgust. Dave grabs her leg and she kicks him in the nether-region with her free leg, then leaps forward, tagging in Phoenix. She comes in hot with a roundhouse kick to Dave. She quickly hits a standing moonsault, followed by a cover that makes it to a two count.

Both are to their feet and Phoenix kicks Dave in the gut, then goes for a stunner… but he locks on a sleeper hold and pulls her back to his corner. Zybala tags himself in and he excitedly enters the ring. Dave releases the hold and pushes her to Mike, who hits a fancy slap boxing combo, ending with a roaring palm thrust. With Phoenix down, Mike hits the ropes and connects with a soaring fist drop. Mike gets up and pats himself on the back. He rolls Phoenix over and pulls her up, going for a release German suplex… but she lands on her feet!

When he turns around, his smile is gone as Phoenix lays in an intricate series of kicks, ending with a superkick that rocks him back to his corner. Dave tags in and he squares up with Phoenix. They lock up and Dave goes behind, looking for another sleeper hold, but Phoenix slides down and drop toe holds him. She grabs his leg and attempts to lock on a submission but he kicks her off, sending her back to her corner. Lilianna slaps Phoenix, thus tagging herself back in.

Lilianna climbs to the top and nails Dave with a missile dropkick. Before she can go for a cover, Mike rushes in after her. She backs up to the ropes and low bridges him right out again. When Lilianna turns around, Dave rocks her with a clothesline. Up again and another clothesline. Up again and she ducks a third clothesline. She hits the ropes and goes for a crossbody. Dave catches her with a huge bodyslam. He goes for a cover that is broken up before three by Phoenix, who attacks Dave. The attack continues and Lilianna joins in.

They stomp away at Dave, working together for the first time. They start arguing over who will hit him with a finisher… and he crawls to his corner… tagging in Mike… who runs into a double superkick from both women. They have an epic staredown with each other before Phoenix pulls Mike up and hits him with her Reborn finishing maneuver. Dave starts to get into the ring and Phoenix hits him with a superkick as Lilianna covers Mike.

Jessica Kaine: The winners of this match… LILIANNA ROSE AND PHOENIX LESTRANGE!

The bell sounds and the referee raises Lilianna's hand in victory. Without hesitation, Phoenix spears her in the middle of the ring and starts laying in vicious closed fists.

Remi: That didn't take long to break down!

Dave pulls Mike out of the ring and they look on as Phoenix continues her assault. Security rushes in to try to separate them.

Non-Title Match:
Cray Mitchell VS Zaigon Carter

Cray Mitchell makes his APW return after a few shows off. He looks refreshed and ready to take on the APW World Champion Zaigon Carter, makes his grand entrance for this non-title match. When he gets into the ring, he holds the APW World Championship high in the air, only to pull it away when he notices Cray eyeing it up. This is a non-title match, so he hands the belt off for safe keeping. When both competitors are ready, the opening bell sounds.

They circle one another before locking up in the center of the ring. Traditional stuff, I know. They struggle for power, only for Zaigon to break free and ram his knee into Cray’s stomach repeatedly. Cray doubles over and Zaigon pulls him back up, lighting his chest up with thunderous chops. Each chop puts Cray closer to the corner. Once he gets to the desired location, Zaigon charges full speed only for Cray to sidestep. Zaigon hits hard, chest first, knocking the wind out of him. Zaigon turns around, holding his chest. Cray opens his arms up over the ropes and lights him up with rapid-fire chops of his own.

The crowd is firmly behind Cray as he pulls Zaigon out of the corner with an exploder suplex. Cray gets up and he tunes up the band, with a superkick in mind for his first big single. Zaigon staggers to his feet and sees it coming, so he drops down and rolls out of the ring to safety. Cray goes after him but he is held back by the referee. They argue for a moment before Cray slides out of the ring and chases after Zaigon. They go around a corner. By the next one, Zaigon turns around and surprises Cray with a heavy clothesline. Cray lands hard on the thin mat outside of the ring. Zaigon yells back at some fans who were shouting rude things at him.

He pulls Cray up off of the mat and gorilla presses him in the air, then drops him onto the ring apron. Zaigon smiles as he rolls Cray back into the ring. Our World Champion casually walks up the steps and enters the ring, covering Cray ever so carelessly… but he only gets a one count. He drags Cray to the center of the ring and hits the rope… he leaps into the air… and comes down hard with a leg drop. He covers Cray and this time gets a two count. The fans cheer when Cray kicks out, and Zaigon doesn’t look pleased. He gets to his feet and goes to the ropes, pointing and shouting at the fans at ringside.

While Zaigon is distracted, Cray begins to recover, slowly rising to his feet. The fans roar as Cray sneaks up from behind and he delivers a perfect release German Suplex. Both men get up and Zaigon runs right into a release belly to belly suplex. Both men get up, with Zaigon moving slower than Cray. Cray kicks him in the gut and delivers a fisherman’s suplex with a bridge. The referee drops down to count and gets so close to three that the fans get mad when he gets up, only holding up two fingers. Cray is up and he pulls Zaigon up. Cray takes his eye off the prize for one moment and Zaigon takes him down with a spinebuster.

He goes for a quick cover and the referee drops down, making it to a two count before Cray kicks out. Zaigon is furious. He gets up and furiously stomps on Cray, taunting the fans the whole time. Zaigon drags Cray up and locks him in an anaconda vise, while shouting at the fans. He then nails Cray with a sitout side slam.

Remi: CROWD CONTROL! THIS HAS GOT TO BE OVER!

Instead of going for the pin, Zaigon gets to his feet and looks into the camera.

Zaigon Carter: Is this the best you’ve got, APW?! I am the face of this company! I deserve better!

He drops down and covers Cray, hooking the leg. The referee drops down for the one… two… the-NO! Cray managed to kick out just in time! Zaigon is up and he grabs the referee by the collar, accosting him for doing such a terrible job at counting. He shoves the referee up against the ropes and threatens to hit him... but gets rolled up from behind by Cray! The referee drops down to count, not seeing that Cray is pulling Zaigon's tights for leverage!

ONE!

Clearwater: I can't believe it! Cray Mitchell has defeated Zaigon Carter!

Remi: But he cheated!

Jessica Kaine: The winner of this match... CRAY MITCHELL!

Backstage Segment

We come back from commercial to find Andrew Barnes signing autographs for a few kids of backstage workers.

Andrew Barnes: Alright, guys. Stay safe and remember to wash your hands.

The kids rush away as Dani Applegate comes up to Andrew Barnes with a mic.

Dani Applegate: Andrew Barnes, can I get a few moments before your match?

Andrew smiles to the camera and Dani.

Andrew Barnes: Yeah, sure, what do you need to know?

Dani Applegate: Your fans would like to know what's your gameplan on coming out of this match with a victory?

Andrew Barnes: Well, I really don't want to give up my strategy, but if it's for my fans..

Andrew Barnes looks deeply into the camera.

Andrew Barnes: I know some of my fans are worried about some of my behavior in my promos. How every victory here in APW is pushing me closer and closer to being a full blown egomaniac. I just want to say that I am working every day, every minute, fighting the reality that I'm probably no better than my father when it comes to being humble.

Andrew smiles back at Dani.

Andrew Barnes: I know I didn't answer your question, so here it is..

He looks back at the camera.

Andrew Barnes: Oblivion is a ruthless beast that has no leash. I've defeated him with pure luck the last time we met.

Andrew raises his right fist towards to camera.

Andrew Barnes: And Soul Reaver. I'm glad Class can see that I didn't have anything to do with my victory over you last Monday Night Metal. And you're right, tonight will be a night of sacrifice. I'm gonna sacrifice all my strength to prove that I don't need a deaf ref to defeat you. I am going to show the APW universe that the Mendacium will bring down a giant tonight.

Andrew lowers his fist and smiles once again.

Andrew Barnes: And Eli Beazley. The crowd favorite in this match. Someone who the crowd will carry away if he comes out victories.

The smile disappears.

Andrew Barnes: I respect you, Eli. You have something to prove, much like myself. You proved to your old federation that you're better than any of them, any day. This is what will drive me, Eli. I love competition. I mean, most of us are here for that very reason. To be better.

Andrew starts to flex for a bit.

Andrew Barnes: This is where the Error will lock you down, Eli.

Andrew points into the camera.

Andrew Barnes: I have to prove myself to all three of my opponents this week, Eli. Soul Reaver will stomp us. Oblivion will eat us. Eli Beazley will WOW us.

Andrew smiles.

Andrew Barnes: Me? I'm here to be a cut.. above.. the rest.

He ends with one more flex and walks away from Dani and the cameras.

North American Championship Contendership:
Andrew Barnes VS Eli Beazley VS Soul Reaver ~~VS Oblivion~~

Four of the… sorry… three of the fastest rising stars in APW are set to face off for the right to challenge for the North American Championship at Showdown. All three competitors make their separate entrances. Beazley looks intimidated by the size of Reaver, as he normally competes against junior heavyweights. Barnes has already fought Reaver, so he's well aware of what's in store for them.

Before the match can begin, America Jackson appears on the tron with the North American Championship over his shoulder. The backdrop is an Action Wrestling logo.

America Jackson: Greetings, potential challengers. While you are destroying your bodies to determine which of you will lose to me at Showdown… I will be representing Alpha Pro Wrestling here in Wichita, Kansas. Best of luck to you all in your endeavors. May the best of the worst win.

Remi: What is this… a crossover episode?!

The pep talk from our champion ends and Reaver clotheslines both Beazley and Barnes simultaneously to kick things off. The opening bell sounds and Reaver stomps on both of them with his monstrous boots. Beazley and Barnes hold their chests, gasping for air. Johnny Glass yells instructions to him from ringside. He nods and pulls Beazley up, tossing him to the ropes and throwing him what probably feels like eighty feet in the air with a back body drop.

He turns his attention to Barnes, who he drags up off the mat by his neck. Reaver lifts Barnes up for a chokeslam, but the move is counters when Barnes locks an armbar on the massive limb of Reaver. He shoves Barnes off and goes for a clothesline. Barnes ducks it and hits the ropes, clotheslining Reaver. It doesn't phase him much, so Barnes hits another… and another. Reaver staggers a bit and he is caught off guard when Beazley dropkicks his hip. Reaver drops down to one knee and Barnes connects with his huge dome with a running knee.

Reaver doesn't quite go down, but this gives Barnes and Beazley an idea. The big man gets back to his feet. Chop after chop, they work together to break down Soul Reaver. The fans roar as they hit the ropes together and… Reaver grabs them both by the throat and chokeslam them at the same damn time! Reaver stumbles back, surprised by his own strength. The lights start to flicker and a rumbling sound is heard throughout the arena… when suddenly…

Clearwater: IT IS HERE! IT IS HERE!

Remi: WHAT IS?!

Clearwater: IT! LOOK IN THE RING!

A hand has suddenly burst through the ring and then another… as Oblivion pushes his way through the canvas. Terror is seen on the face of Soul Reaver for likely the first time in his existence. Oblivion grabs onto his legs and drags him through the ring. When they are gone, the rumbling sound fades and the lights return to normal.

Remi: Where the hell did they go?!

Back in the ring, Beazley and Barnes start to stir. They both push up to their feet and look down, noticing a gaping hole in the ring. Both men shrug and then start trading punches. The fans shout "yay" with each punch, showing support for both competitors. Barnes gets in one last heavy shot before going for Mendacium… but Beazley rolls under the dangerous clothesline. Barnes stumbles and turns right into a series of three standing dropkicks that Beazley calls The Triple Shot. The fans go cuckoo bananas as Beazley climbs up the ropes in the corner and---

Remi: HOLLYWOOD HIGH DRIIIIIIIVE!!!!1

Clearwater: OH DAMN! BARNES GOT HIS KNEES UP!

Indeed. Barnes got both knees up and Beazley crashed hard. He lies in the ring in pain, as the referee checks on him while Barnes gets to his feet, favoring his left knee a bit from the impact. Barnes shows concern as he reaches down to help Beazley up when all of a sudden---

Remi: SMAAAAALL PACKAGE!!!!1

ONE!

TWO!

THREE!

The bell sounds and Beazley releases the hold, going back to holding his back in pain.

Jessica Kaine: The winner of this match… EEEEEEEEEELI BEEEEEEEAZLYYYYY!!!

Barnes gets back to his feet, unable to believe that just happened.

Remi: Beazley was playing possum all along!

Clearwater: I don't think so. He really does seem---

The referee throws up an X.

Clearwater: ---hurt.

Medics rush down the ramp to help Beazley. Barnes asks how he can help as we head to an ad from our pals at Netflix...
