"This is not going to be your normal Eli Beazley video. Breeziacs, this one isn't for you. Truthfully, I don't know who it's for. It might be for the APW roster. It might be for the higher-ups, hell it might be just for me. But you won't be seeing The Breezy One. Today you get Eli. Today you get a guy who loves pro wrestling. You get a guy who loves being a part of Alpha Pro Wrestling. Today you get a guy that is bummed."
Gone are the fluorescent colored shirts, and the spiffy sports coats. Gone is the championship belt that Eli doesn't go anywhere without. Today we get an Eli with a baseball cap and a black Nike t-shirt.
"Watching Lex Collins and Smith Jones say goodbye on Metal was tough. I try to keep things pretty light. I try to stay happy and positive. It's the Breezy Way. But I'm not feeling very Breezy today. Look, I'm happy that Lex can retire. He's given a lot to this sport and he deserves to go out the way he wants to go. We all should be happy for him. This sport is grueling. The schedule alone is enough to drive most people insane. Add in the physical demand and it takes a toll on you. It's hard to keep up with that grind if your heart isn't in it one hundred percent. It wears you down quickly. Good on Lex for realizing that it was time to step away. So many others in his position don't leave and it's not easy to watch.
A brief pause from Eli.
"Smitty leaving is tough. You have one of the very best wrestlers in the world deciding to go wrestle somewhere else. He has been the cornerstone of APW. He's the man. A big chunk of the heart of APW leaves with Smith Jones. We are all feeling that void now. I felt it at the arena last night. Things were pretty quiet in the lockerroom after Metal. I think there are a lot of people left wondering where we go from here. There are people out there who think APW is done for. I've seen the posts on social media. I get it. There have been a few other big names that have left recently and it's natural to worry. That all comes from love. We all love this place. APW is different. It's special. And when you love something so much it can be hard to deal with big changes."
Another long pause.
"For a brief moment I felt a sense of dread. I caught myself wondering how APW can go on without Lex and Smitty? But then I remembered what makes this place truly special. Lex and Smitty were giants in this industry and they were instrumental in the success of this place. But APW ain't exactly a floundering start-up promotion anymore. APW has grown into a powerhouse. This roster is INSANELY deep and talented. We have become a destination for free agents. We've got loyal fans. APW is the shit!"
"Those dudes leaving, the others that left earlier this month... yeah it left a void. Is APW going to suffer a little in the short term for it? Sure. But it also presents an I can't speak for everyone on this roster, but I do know that I am going to damnedest to fill the void. With Smitty and Lex gone, there is suddenly more room at the top and I can't think of anyone better to step up than the LONGEST reigning Jr. Heavyweight Champion of all time! Am I right?"
For the first time Eli cracks a smile.
"Hey look at that! Breezy is feeling better already! I guess this little therapy session was helpful. We should do this more."
A laugh from Eli and a wave.
"Breezy out."
