The grand canyon is easily one of the greatest wonders to view in American. The vast badlands dwarfs the big man Sitch. The pilgrimage of nature many people travel the breath of the country or across the world to see, has taken the breath away from four inner city black men. Sitch couldn’t look more like a tourist in his bright pink shorts, hawian shirt and cap with binoculars hanging around his neck. His entourage look just like him. They stand motionless on the verge of the cliff tops taking in the wilderness.
“Boys, this has to be the b-e-a-uutifulist stop so far lads. Makes you think, all this, it’s bigger than us. f*ck me humble boys.”
One by one then turn away from the spectacular view leaving Sitch standing there alone. He turns to look down the camera.
“You wonna know the best part of being on the Alpha roster. We are touring like freaks. I’ve seen parts of this world I thought I'd never see. I’m not from a rich family, or a rich neighborhood. We didn’t grow up with much. Alpha had given me more in this life than I ever expected.
Me and the boys don’t fly, we drive across the country. We take advantage, OF THIS! I’m not gonna say we’re living in the best country in the world but it’s close man. This place is beautiful. In this month alone we’ve been in Louisiana eating some damn fine barbie-q and checking out the bayou. Then we traveled through Texas and saw the south mecca that is Huston. Had the show of my life there. This week we’ve been on the road driving to Idaho for next week's Metal. We took the long way, sure did, but it’s worth it. We’re here in Arizona checking this out.”

“You know who doesn’t take advantage of all this? Who doesn’t tour American taking in the sights, landmarks and the cities? Who doesn’t meet all the different people, try the food, enjoy all the culture? Your North American Champion Lex Collins. I don’t wonna throw shade, I got respect on his name. But as North American Champion, how could you not take advantage of all this. You're missing the world go by Lexo. If i was you i’d be out here day and night, the people are amazing and the food. Big man loves his food. You're the Alpha Champion of all this Lexo, these are your people, your cities, your food big man. Don’t worry, all this will be my burden to bare soon Lexo.
Sure, you share the stage with the World Champion. The current and former both being your brother’s in arms. But your belt means something different, you're the people's champion. You’ve forgotten that or never even knew it, what holding that belt means to the people. Blind, hell, ignorant to the opportunities this life has given you. And you're pissing it away. Okay these are some harsh words, sorry Lexo.
You know I respect you. Several weeks ago we battled together, you realised that night what Smithy sees in me. I had your back. And know, this may seem like a stab in the back that I'm gunning for your championship. A betrayal. Brother, don’t be looking at me like that. Sometimes ya gotta hurt the ones you love. Sometimes, you don’t realise what you have until it’s gone. Maybe bro, i gotta take that North American Championship away from you for you to realise what you had. Put that fire back inside you. Cause it’s extinguished right now. I love The Architects bro, I look up to you. It’s been an honour running with you boys. And I know you're not gonna take to me, definitely if i’m coming for your belt. But much love my man, big up.
But that’s all in the future. This week I got a triple threat to get that contendership. You know big man is taking this match seriously. I was playing, hanging out with Architects but it got turned up when I faced Soul Reaver one on one. A colossus of a man. I had to dig deep for that win. Im not stressing but I think I became a new man. I grew as a competitor, as a man, as a damn warrior. You know it.
Well, hell, the rest of the week tested me too. I continued on that path of self discovery, that’s easy to say. Let me tell you the situation. The boys pack up the car and we set off out of Huston a couple of days after Gods of Wrestling. The boys had a surprise for me so I climbed in the back, cracked open some beers and enjoyed the ride. No idea what they planning. Knowing them it some type of party, and happens to be, i'll never know what they planned. We never got there.
Four damn hours into our trek across the country we get a flat. Now i’m a man’s man, you damn well know it. But my crew. They’re more suits and cocktails than overalls and wrenches. So riding high on my win at the grandest stage and on the way to my celebration party it’s time to get down and dirty with the spare. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Any excuse to squeeze in a workout. It had been a minute since I hit a gym at this point. Problem is we were running on empty, not gas, beer!
We out in the middle of nope country, the road is barely a road. Yet we had only just passed a town. D-Trigger takes one for the team, hikes it back in search for some cans. And I got a date with a tyre. We got the lady up and now time to check out those bolts when we hear, it's hard to say it, the n word hits us like a gunshot. Now I'mma not gonna make this a race thing. But it’s hard not to take it any other way.
I pop up to look around the car. The other two of my boys are up against the car at gunpoint. They all yelling like mad men, and this farmer with his gun got an itchy trigger finger. I stepped around the car, bam whoa, I got a gun pointed at me. Damn my ass is sweatin. This ain’t the first time I had a gun on me. But usually I know why. Usually they want a wallet. This fool looks like his clothes are worth more than what me and boys make in a year. This is one fly ass farmer. Farmers be pimpin. I ask him what’s up. He wants money, the car? Turns out my kind is not too welcome around these parts.
Well, cause the destination was a surprise i wasn’t even too such what parts we were even in. I’m about six cans in and not in any state to be dealing with a mad racist. He gets in my face, like he’s never even heard of a personal bubble. Asks me what we doin on his land? ROAD TRIP DOGG! Yeah, that didn’t go down too well. F*ck the personal bubble, if he got any closer his damn tongue would be down my damn throat. Goddammit.
We’re on a public road and I don't know what this fool wants. I’mma trying to calm him down when I see Shaney creeping. He’s gonna make a move. I’d say go for it normally, man’s gotta do what needs to be done. But in this specific situation I got a rifle rammed up my damn nose. This boy wants to make the Situation a situation, know what i'm saying.
Hey old Mcdonald, put that ting away and we all be cool. I tell him we wonna shoot outta here quicker than he wants us gone. Then, Shaney lunges for the gun. BAM. It goes off, luckily no one is hit. I thought I might die at this point. I’m from the poor end of Chicago, and even there no one handles a gun as recklessly as this chump. So there's these two wrestling over the gun. I don’t think either have ever lifted a damn weight in their life. Quite the embarrassing struggle honestly.
Just as a thought this is the end. Shaney is gonna get himself shot, and i'll be next, or get framed and arrested. A cop car shows up. Gotta tell you, not sure I've ever been so pleased to see the blue boys. They step out, and Shaney is still fighting for the gun. They're gonna shoot my boy before even asking questions, I know it. Remember I'm cans for days into this thing. I think it’s a good idea to rush over to the cops to explain the situation. I think I'm helping. This is what the police see. A three hundred plus pound black man charging at them while his boy fights with a local over a gun. Not good. What i didn’t know is that D-Trigger was in the cop car and had explained our side of the story to them on the drive up.
They still dropped my ass. I’m lucky they didn’t shoot me. Kids don’t run at the cops, especially if you're drunk. Turns out this town is racist. They grabbed D-Trigger for no reason, he explained our situation and instead of arresting him for no reason decided to escort him back to the car to get the hell out of town. Trump's Merica, am I right? Na it’s only a few that ruin it for the rest of it. We get this misunderstanding sorted out and three white men watch me change a tyre, pile into our car and drive off.
Turns out not all parts of the country need to be seen. Some cultures, some people can be skipped. Na, again i’m joking our experiences make us stronger and I still wonna see the world….just not that town. You know what I learnt, the message of this story. Don’t be a show off. Shaney nearly had his face blown off. I was nearly taken out by the police and D-Trigger was nearly put behind bars. Remember there’s four of us. Cousin Teddy. He called the 911 asking for state troopers. We got the hell out of there before we needed help but the fact is only one out of four of us was thinking with our brains. Only one of us read the danger we were in and made a sensible decision.
You learn more from life than you learn in a gym. You can take that to the bank, my little sitches. Don’t be a fool. Pick yourself up and carry on. On Monday night Metal I face two show offs. Two men that care more about looking good than performing good. Hell, one of them just wants to get laid. You don’t need to get your ass kicked by big man sitch for that. Just come to the after party dogg. Two Issac Cooke and Steven Osbourne, then you stand opposite sitch just think about this: use your head. I may look like a big man brawler, and I am, but I beat Soul Reaver with my brain not brawn. I have no need to show off. I have a need to win and become a contender. Don’t show off boys, let's go to war and see who the better man is.
Boys, if you're not gonna both show up, bring the war then don’t bother stepping in the ring. I’m for real. I’mma continue touring this beautiful country and the North American Championship is my ticket to reach all the corners of this country. I live for this, there’s no way your taking it away from me or my fans. If you wonna shot at that belt, boys you’re gonna have to kill me at Metal. Let’s hope your aim is better than a redneck farmer. Love, peace out Situation Nation."
