Upon reaching land in Miami, the fifth fleet file off the ship in an orderly fashion. Two by two, Hunters on the right; handlers on the left with the fleet leader and other staff members heading the group. Each person awaiting their instructions on where to head next upon stepping onto the sand, where they stand off to the right so that each pair can make their way onto land without any unnecessary hassles. Well, mainly inadvertent collisions and accidentally getting mixed up with the wrong Hunter or Handler, but those fit the billing of "unnecessary hassles".
Near the back of the group (third from last pairing), are Alvara and Lauren, with Michael and Jasmine ahead of them; a gruff, older looking male with a beard that appears not to have been shaved for three months alongside an older woman, whose Auburn red hair is tied into a ponytail with a white scrunchie behind them.
Alvara has a jovial but stoic expression on her face, whilst Lauren has a slight smile yet a soft look of curiosity in her eyes. She wonders, just as she had on the ship as they were sailing, whether Alvara can truly lead this life when she could have easily been a model. Or an actress. She has the looks for either of those roles, yet here she is.
Eager and willing to serve the wishes of the commission. Her life eternally linked to the Sapphire star. She'd ask Alvara at some point as to why she elected to walk this road - but for now, she is just like the rest.
Awaiting instruction on what their next course of action shall be. Stepping off to the right, they turn to face a makeshift podium (really a stage that had been constructed using decaying driftwood), the fleet watch eagerly as the fleet leader (a man in his thirties with his shoulder-length coffee coloured hair tied into a ponytail) steps atop it. Being careful to not fall off or fall through the platform.
Fleet Leader: Welcome to the New World. We are gathered here today in order to map out the next passage of action and to discuss just what the commission desires from our venture into the new world. A world that is filled with mysteries and secrets to unravel as the Sapphire Star shines down upon us.
The fleet's hunters let out a primal roar in unison, as the fleet leader clears his throat. Waiting for the roar to die down before resuming his speech.
Fleet Leader: I will be coming to each Hunter and Handler pairing and informing you of your assignments once we are done here; then you will be heading to The Astera gathering hub which is down the road and to the right as marked on your maps, which shall be our base of operations while we are in the New World.
There will also be various campsites located around various locations for you to stay in whilst on questions, but more details about them will come when the time comes for them to be revealed, should you be required to venture to them for quests.
Taking a breath, the Fleet leader glances around. Noticing pockets of hinters and handlers murmuring to one another about the statement and possible quests they may be assigned on.
Rather, more specific quests rather than the outline they were given before partaking on this journey by the Commander.
Among those murmurings, are Alvara and the Handler/Lauren.
Alvara: So, I'm guessing that Astera is where our luggage will be? Including weaponry?
Lauren nods. She remembers these gathering hubs from previous journies she had undergone as part of the Commission's desire to unlock the secrets this world had to offer. Whether that be the arid climates of the Middle East or the cold, snow-filled climates of Russia.
She had been there; experienced it all first hand. Each time noting features she felt would come in handy for reference and to help the commission along their passage.
Lauren: Yes. Usually, each pairing of Hunter and Handler will have their own assigned room, where their itinerary will be. Though you'll find out more upon arrival.
Alvara nods, choosing to accept and understand Lauren's explanation, at least for now. Plus, she notices the fleet leader preparing to once again resume his speech.
Fleet Leader: Upon arrival, check-in with the resource manager, who will assign you to your rooms. After that, you will be free to explore your new surroundings until we call for a communal meeting - which is where intel and the basic outline of the commission's plans for this adventure as a whole will be discussed. Though we will sound a horn to inform you to come to the meeting room when that time arrives.
One of the female hunters (who appears to be in their mid to late twenties with medium length caramel brown hair) raises her hand as if to ask the Fleet leader a question, though is stopped by her handler (a similarly aged female with ginger hair) placing her left hand atop her bicep. In a manner that kind of states 'not yet'.
Fleet leader: Is that understood?
The hunters let out an approving roar, as the fleet leader walks off the stage; begins to make his way down the steps at the right-hand side of the stage, as the hunters and handlers begin to murmur once more. Each pairing interested as to just what assignment they shall be sent on.
What it is, that the commission has in store for them as they venture upon the ground known as the "New World". The fleet leader begins to make his way to them, as Lauren turns to Alvara and smiles.
Lauren: I'm hoping we can get to visit luxurious locations and find new animals to play with.
Alvara can't help but smile at that. Seeing as she had to leave her three-year-old tabby cat named Anzu at home for this journey. No matter how hard she had fought in order to bring it along.
Yet at the same time, she retains a stoic, almost glazed look of focus within her eyes. Ready for anything that might be thrown her way.
Lauren: Do you have any preference as to what you wish to do?
Alvara gently shakes her head.
Alvara: No. Just as long as I can make friends and hunt down monsters, I'm happy.
Lauren nods, almost in admiration of Alvara. She can see why the commission would choose someone like her to partake in this journey. She's goal-oriented and has a burning desire to do the right thing. To bring about the image that the Sapphire star; by extension the commission, desires. Just as those words settle, the fleet leader makes his way over to the two of them.
Fleet leader: Alvara?
Alvara tilts her head towards him, a look of curiosity across her face.
Alvara: Yes?
The fleet leader softly clears his throat before resuming his statement.
Fleet Leader: You have been assigned to a company by the name of Alpha Pro Wrestling, where you will be competing under their banner. The commission wishes you for you to partake in combat; study just how people in this New world fight. Their mannerisms. What they strive for. How it plays into the greater picture.
(Alvara's eyes light up at those words. To her, this is an opportunity to put her combat training into practice. A means for her to showcase just how tough. How gritty she truly is. Regardless of how people might portray her on a surface level.)
Alvara: So, just like it was in the infantry back at HQ?
(The fleet leader slightly nods, as Lauren smiles to herself. She is learning more about her partner. Her 'client' so to speak; is starting to realise just why she chose this road. Plus, it enables her to understand how Alvara was able to pass training with flying colours.)
Fleet leader: Yes. Just like combat training. Except for no weapons in combat for the most part.
Alvara lets out a soft 'aww', seeing as weapons were her favourite part of combat training, but nods in acceptance.
The fleet leader turns around, walking off to the next pair to inform them of their assignment - but not before saying "good luck," to Alvara in a gentle; friendly tone.
Lauren then gently turns towards her, smiling.
Lauren: Wrestling --- sounds fun. I know you'll ace it.
Alvara gently laughs.
Alvara: I love it. Combat was the most fun thing about training and now, I get the chance to hunt down prey and fulfil the Sapphire Star's creed. Two birds with one stone.
Lauren smiles as she begins to make her way across the sand, with Alvara in tow.
Lauren: That's great to hear. I'll be there every step of the way, supporting you and making sure everything is set into motion. Anyway, we should be heading to the hub.
Alvara: Alright.
The two continue their walk across the sand, just as each group before them had done. Eager and ready to take their first assignment within the New World.
End.
