“Breezy Nation, thank you for joining me today for this momentous occasion. Today I will be delivering the State of Breezy Nation Address. This address will serve to unify Breezy Nation and to make our direction forward clear. But first, I must offer some thanks. Thank you for embracing me as your fearless leader. Thank you for pre-ordering my book. Thank you for donating to my left-handed foundation. Thank you for cheering me on each and every time I am in the ring. But most of all, thank you for building the Breezy Nation. Without all of you, I am nothing more than a pretty face and an above-average professional wrestler. But with Breezy Nation behind me I have won the Jr. Heavyweight Championship. With your support, I have become one of the fastest rising stars in all of APW. And with your shampoo and conditioner suggestions, my hair is looking more voluminous than ever! So once again, But in all seriousness. You are some of the most amazing fans a guy could ask for. THANK YOU!!!”
Eli pauses for applause. C’mon, you know that you are cheering as you watch this at home. I am.
“This is an exciting time in the life of our young movement. We have laughed together. We have cried together. We have triumphed together. And together we are on the cusp of being the most successful Jr. Heavyweight Champion in APW history! Breeziacs, it hasn't always been easy. We have faced some dark days together. Like the day that Mr. E and I were beaten by The Architects in the tag title tournament. Or who could forget the darkest day of all? The day that I was forced to team up with… Jason Ryan."
Eli wrinkles his face to show true and utter disgust.
"Breezy Nation, I know that those will not be the last dark days that we face. Sure, we may never have to do something as awful as being Ryan's tag partner but there will be hard times. There are losses in the future. I know that. I know that someday, most likely in 2022 or 2023. I will eventually lose this belt. But Breeziacs, those days will be far outnumbered by beautiful, glorious days. This movement that we have built will continue to grow. We may be just a few million members strong right now but I have no doubt that at some point that number will grow past the billion people mark. I know that someday we will go from the Breezy Nation to the Breezy Universe. But those days are off in the distance. I have summoned you here to talk about the present. Where is Breezy Nation headed now?"
Eli pauses and rustles through some papers on the podium. He pulls a pair of thin rimmed glasses out of his breast pocket and puts them on. He immediately starts to squint and move the papers closer to his face and then further away. After just a few seconds his takes the glasses off and throws them off screen.
"Breeziacs, this week on Monday Night Metal we face a foe that, if not taken seriously, could end our reign as champ. The Great Stevo as he is called has, historically, not been much of a threat to anyone. He has lost far more than he has one. But as a young Boy Scout I was taught to always be prepared and that is a motto that I still apply to my life today. To be Jr. Heavyweight Champion, and a long-reigning one at that, you have to be prepared. It is the belt that gets defended the most. Every week there is another competitor lined up across the ring from you. Every week you have to be at the top of your game. The Great Stevo may not be on the same level as Flop or Alex Scott. Hell, he may not even be on John Blade’s level. But I will be ready as if I am going up against one of APW’s great. This week Stevo mind as well be Damon Warrens or Corey Black. That’s how hard I will be coming. And Breezy Nation I promise you that Eli Beazley will be heading into Gods of Wrestling as Jr. Heavyweight Champion. Which brings me to my next topic. Gods of Wrestling."
Eli clears his throat.
"The biggest event in APW. The night that we look forward to all year! Breeziacs, when I signed my contract I was pumped that I was doing it right before Gods of War. I was pumped at the idea of just being in the show. Honestly, the thought of going into the show as a champion wasn't even on my mind. I thought that maybe, just maybe, I'd be wrestling for a belt. But here we are… Jr. Heavyweight Champ! Breezy Nation I have no idea what will get thrown at me for the show. I don't know who I will see across the ring from me at Gods of War. It could be one person or five or six. Who knows? What we do know is that Breezy Eli Beazley is going to show up ready to tear the house down. And we also know that the Breezy Nation will be on full display! That arena will be deafening as it is and when the Breeziacs unite and show the world what being Breezy is all about, that arena is going to be raucous!"
"Breezy Nation we are in a good place. We are headed in the right direction. Together we will topple opponent after opponent. Together we can overcome any obstacle. Together we will make the world a better place. We. Do. It. Together. Breezy is a cult. Breezy out!"
And with that Eli salutes the camera and walks away from the podium. Fade to black.
