[]FADE IN- House. Tuscon, Arizona.[]
OPEN to the interior of a library, where there are around fifty bookshelves lined up in an orderly fashion. Five shelves in each row, with a gap of about two meters between each row, to allow people to walk through. Each shelf holds twelve books, each of a variety of genres. From fantasy to murder mystery. About seven feet in front of the bookshelves is a freshly polished oak table. Four chairs are around it in a near circle, each one midnight black in color and crafted out of pine trees.
Seated atop the chair on the left-hand side of the table is Aaron Osmosis <Attired in a latte t-shirt, raven black tracksuit pants and charcoal sneakers>. His face has a stoic expression.
-[AARON]-:
{Calm} Things haven't been going my way recently. I'd be a fool not to admit that. I haven't made the sort of impact here in the APW that I initially expected to when I signed on the dotted line and decided to return to the ring. Instead of staying here with my family and my various acting jobs.
He sighs, placing his left hand on the table.
-[AARON]-:
{Calm} Now, in the past, I may have played the blame game. Pointed out how people don't like me. How they're all flocking to their newest shiny toys. How they'd rather the moment rather than the hand that has been mostly steady. Much as I did when I was turned down for the role in "The Avengers: Infinity War" but that is naive. That is allowing personal frustrations to cloud logic. {Relaxed} No. The only person who I wish to blame for current circumstances, is myself.
Aaron drops his head slightly.
-[AARON]-:
(As hard as it might be to admit.)
Aaron raises his head, keeping his hand atop the table.
-[AARON]-:
{Gentle} I know that I must be better if I'm going to make the same impact. Leave the same legacy here, that I did in ZPW. If the acclaim and accolades bestowed upon me there are to follow here. Which they undoubtedly will. They have every single place I've been throughout my distinguished career.
Aaron smiles.
-[AARON]-:
{Calm, Arrogant} Just ask anybody who has associated with me. Whether that be in the ring or on the stage. They'll all tell you the same thing. I've achieved everything that I desire. If I desire something, I will go out there and ensure that it ends up in my possession. Awards, titles, acclaim. They will all become mine in the end. Yet I acknowledge that right now, I'm not in a position where I can claim them.
Aaron raises his left eyebrow.
-[AARON]-:
{Friendly} See, unlike some people, I can admit that. I'm not afraid to step up and state "I know I've shown flaws, but in the end: I will be on top". It's called humility. People should really try it some time. Instead of putting it out there that they are nothing more than a phony. A fake, who uses their own superiority complex in order to attempt to convince themselves that they are who they claim to be.
Aaron laughs to himself, placing his right hand on the table. About two feet from his left.
-[AARON]-:
{Calm} Just like the people who sign up for productions with grandiose resumes, only to expose their lack of actual talent when their number is finally called.
Aaron smiles cheekily.
-[AARON]-
(Which in today's climate, is the majority of new faces. It's sad how low the standards directors have been.)
Aaron stands up, walking toward the bookshelves, his face calm.
-[AARON]-:
{Relaxed} Just like the trio of fools who have been put in front of me for this week's match. Three people, who believe that just because I can admit I'm not where I would like to be right now ... that this opens some sort of door for them.
Aaron laughs, shaking his head.
-[AARON]-:
{Sarcastically} Sorry to ruin your little fantasy, but no. {Firm} It sadly doesn't open an opportunity for vultures like you three to strike. Just as it never opened up opportunities for anybody else when I was having my rare down periods in ZPW. Or even on the stages.
Aaron hesitates.
-[AARON]-:
(They did happen, so no use pretending they didn't.)
Aaron laughs, his face curling into a smile as he surveys the bookshelf in front of him.
-[AARON]-:
(No. It's not here...)
He pushes some of the books to the side before moving over to the next shelf.
-[AARON]-:
{Slightly frustrated} Where did I put it?
He smiles, finding the book tucked away on the right-hand side of the second shelf. Looking at it, he places it into his left hand before walking back to the table. Placing it on the table, Aaron walks toward the exit. Stopping just before the doorframe.
-[AARON]-:
(Hopefully that's the book Zoe wanted...)
He then walks out the door.
FADE OUT.
[]FADE IN- Park. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[]
OPEN to "Fairmount Park", where a marquee tent has been set up <Tan in color>, with the logo of "ESPN" atop of it, as well as employees guarding the exterior. Ensuring that only authorized personnel are able to enter the marquee. The interior looks like a standard Television set. There's a screen projecting a city backdrop in the middle of the tent. In front of the screen, there are two khaki colored nylon chairs with steel bases, both of which are occupied. About six feet in front of them and diagonally to the set, are two cameras. Each on tripods. Pointed at the chairs.
Sitting on the left chair is Jason Fairmond <attired in a navy blue suit with a white undershirt and crimson tie> and on the right, sits Aaron Osmosis <Attired in a grey suit, with a jet black undershirt and cream tie>. Jason nods to the producer and clears his throat.
-[JASON]-:
{Professional} Hello everybody. I'm Jason Fairmond and welcome to "Wrestling Weekly". The show where I go over the hot topics in the industry and interview special guests about their views in the ring. Today, I have former ZPW icon and current APW wrestler, Aaron Osmosis. Thanks for coming on.
Aaron looks at Jason, nodding.
-[AARON]-:
{Calm} Thanks for having me on.
Jason looks at Aaron, smiling.
-[JASON]-:
{Friendly} So, it's safe to say that despite how dominant you looked in your debut outing with APW, things haven't really gone as you'd like so far in your stint. Is that correct?
Aaron sighs as he looks at Jason. His face slightly contorting.
-[AARON]-:
{Calm} Yes and no. I won't deny that things could be better but at the same time... It's about making sure that people know that they can't just circle around me like vultures. That it will all fall into place. Sooner rather than later. I've had these slumps before.
Jason nods, looking over at the sheet of questions he had compiled for this interview.
-[JASON]-:
{Calm} So, I'm assuming that you're not worried about sliding? I know you had that...
Aaron raises his hand.
-[AARON]-:
{Aggressive} We are not reliving that again. What happened there was an aberration. One, that was corrected when I reclaimed my ZPW world championship from that harlot. {Calm} So no, I'm not concerned about sliding, because that's not going to be happening.
Jason nods as Aaron clears his throat.
-[JASON]-:
{Calm} This week, you have a fatal-four-way against Aaron Matthews, Soul Reaver and John McDaniels. Do you know anything about them?
Aaron laughs slightly.
-[AARON]-:
{Calm} I'm sorry, did you just say "Soul Reaver"? Did someone seriously get dropped on their head while trying to write out "Soul Reaper" and settle for "Reaver" instead? {Relaxed} That's hilarious.
Aaron smiles, putting on a deep voice.
-[AARON]-:
{Sarcastic} I am the Soul Reaver and I will take your soul. You don't deserve to be in the ring with me. The Soul Reaver.
Jason looks at Aaron, waiting for him to finish so he can continue.
-[JASON]-:
{Professional} Yes. He's a seven-foot, five hundred pound monster, who demolished blue trunks in his last match.
Aaron rolls his eyes.
-[AARON]-:
{Calm} Yawn. Another monster who thinks his size provides an intimidation factor. Yes, like we needed any more of those...Once you've seen one of them, you've seen them all.
-[JASON]-:
{Calm} So, I'm assuming you're not too worried about this week's match then?
Aaron shakes his head.
-[AARON]-:
{Calm, Arrogant} Why would I be? None of my opponents brings anything to the table that I haven't seen or defeated before. Are McDaniels and Matthews two kids found off the streets or something? They sure look like it and this "Soul Reaver" guy is a man who simply relies on the crutch of intimidation. {Relaxed} I'm not afraid of him. As soon as he realizes I will not simply grovel at his feet, he'll fall to pieces. They always do, such is the life of a "monster" in wrestling.
Jason nods, noticing a producer asking him to "wrap it up".
-[JASON]-:
{Interjecting, Professional} We'll be back with more, after this break.
Aaron looks at Jason, annoyed as Jason simply shrugs and mouths "Sorry. Not my call,". Aaron then nods.
FADE OUT
