Buzz around the upcoming tag tournament continues with media opportunities in the APW chain, where we see another such broadcast preparing to film for the company fan access website. Social pariah-turned media mogul Harvey Berlin flutters between his production staff in a festive lavender suit combo and egg shell mandarin shirt. He smokes from a Carila Davil cigarette stick while setting up picture-perfect lighting. When Masuda arrives in his baby blue suit and turtleneck, the forces of media sweep him onto set. Makeup covers up dark circles. Others try to slay his monstrous lump of wild blonde hair. Yet the one thing he cannot unsee glares back at him in the form of a faded Masuda Jubei T-shirt from the earliest days of APW. Crackled skin machine-washed into a leprosy visage of his late uncle giving that smirk Jubei made world famous.
Teijin: Where'd you get -
Harvey: Focus kid, you only get one debut interview. Choosing me over Trent was a step in the right direction... but don't screw that pooch now, sweetheart.
Teijin: Okay. And why does that matter?
Harvey pays that no mind while he peruses his talking points folded into a well-creased paper. His thoughts seemingly lost in pictures of the man waiting before him. Impatient fluids gushing into his star-bent eyes, and from them, the Harvey Berlin of TV suddenly arises like some flamboyant phoenix.
Harvey: It's your Uncle Harvey here with APW.com! I you lovelies are doing well across the Alpha-verse... because today, we've got a special guest. Go ahead and say hi.
Teijin: Hi.
Harvey shakes his head with a subtle point to a watch he doesn't have.
Teijin: Look, Alpha bros... or whatever I'm supposed to call all you people watching this instead of working today, my name is Teijin. Yes, I am a Masuda. We can get over that bullshit later. I also realize that me being here is not because I'm a great wrestler like other recent additions in Frank Patrick Venable or Andre Aquarius. I also enter this company with no credible track record nor championship history. It was for my name and nothing else. So just give me a chance to be my own man outside that same old mold. I may have Masuda blood, but I won't be the ruin of this company like Jubei did. I still see the trauma in your faces when I dare utter those goddamn syllables. Take my advice - since he tortured me up until adulthood - his effect on the world is dying. Soon, we'll be in time when nobody remembers that asshole or all the shit he caused. All I ask is you see me as someone else. Or don't. It's your choice as our viewers. Now I've got a show to train for people. You know where to find me... daimyo out.
