Monday Night Metal

“THAT IS WHY WE DO IT!!! That was AWESOME!”
Eli Beazley can be seen moments after his match on Monday Night Metal. He is still in his full ring gear, sweaty, and absolutely beaming. He is walking through the hallways of the arena high fiving random people as he goes. The camera follows him for a few seconds before he stops and spins around to face the camera.
“I am so pumped up! I feel like I could run a marathon! I wouldn’t because of my intense fear of nipple chafing but you get the point! Breeziacs… Breeziacs! I can’t tell you how good it felt to hit the Hollywood High Dive on Jason Ryan. I can’t even begin to explain how incredible it was to watch Jaice and ZMac kick some serious Jason Ryan ass. Actually, I am sure that you guys loved it as much as I did. Because Jason Ryan is… tough to love. The guy runs his mouth constantly. He struts around here as if God gave him a golden weiner. That dude sucks.”
“I tried to get along with Jason. I relly did. But Jason is… well he is one of those guys that you see in wrestling from time to time. They pretend to be these badasses. They act like everyone else is below him. They flaunt their money. They flex their muscles. Private jets, paid escorts, rented mansions. You know the type. They do everything they can to create the illusion of badassery. But Jason isn’t a badass. He’s a pansy ass. That dude isn’t tough. He doesn’t scare anyone. He is a JOKE!”
“But enough about ol’ grumpy pants!”
Eli reaches out and covers the camera lens with his hand. When he takes his hand off the lens the scene has shifted. We are now on a balcony overlooking Vancouver. It is an overcast day. High 40s with rain coming and going throughout the day. In the distance, we see boats on the water. Slowly the camera pans over to Eli Beazley who is holding his arms out with a huge smile on his face.
“Nice view, eh? The set up is pretty nice this week. Vancouver… You’re a badass town! I have loved being here for the last few days.” Pause. “I’ve had that word badass on my mind for the last few days. It’s the only word that can describe how I feel about Monday night. And how I feel about ZMac and Jaice Wilds.”
Eli laughs as he rolls the sleeves up on his hoodie.
“I know… I know. You’re not supposed to call your opponent a badass. I know these things are meant to verbally tear down your opponent. The truth is… it’s hard to stand in front of the camera during weeks like this. It’s way easier the weeks when you’re going up against baboons like Ryan. There is much to say. So many jabs to throw. So much trolling to do. But against guys like Jaice Wilds it’s so simple that it makes it hard to put a compelling promo together.”
“I respect the hell out of Jaice and what he does in the ring. You’re not going to see insults thrown around in this one. Because at the end of the day it is simply a battle. It two guys getting in that ring to see who the best man is. That’s it. Plain and simple right. I guess we should just end this here…”
Eli laughs as he leans against the railing and glances over at the city.
“Jaice I have nothing but good things to say about you. You’re one of the best wrestlers we’ve got in APW. You’re a good dude. And I appreciate you giving me this match. Believe me, I understand how big of an opportunity this is for me. You see, I’ve got eyes on the top and this match could help get me there. It’s not often a dude comes into a place like APW and gets a shot at one of the top guys in his third match with the company. When it does happen there are usually two outcomes. The guy gets squashed or the guy shocks the masses and picks up a win. Obviously, Breezy hopes that it is the latter.”
“I have zero intention of going out to that ring and getting squashed. I think I proved last week that it will be a fight. And I believe that when the smoke clears and a winner is decided… some people might be shocked. A win for me could be the talk of the water coolers on Tuesday morning. ‘Eli Beazley? Really? The guy with the beautiful hair and the model good looks beat Jaice Wilds?’”
“But as they say hindsight is 2020. If things go the way I plan, in a month or two an Eli Beazley win won’t look so shocking. Jaice Wilds is one THE best wrestlers in APW. But I think it will be pretty clear that ‘Breezy’ Eli Beazley ain’t so bad himself!”
We get another pause from Eli.
“Jaice, I am ecstatic for our match. I do feel incredibly lucky to get a shot at you. But don’t think for a second that I’m fine just being in the match. Anything but a win this week will be a disappointment. I’m not the type of person who is just happy to get invited to the party. I’m the guy that wants to be the freakin’ life of the party and leave with the prettiest girl.”
“This week I will be the talk of APW. And as far as leaving with the prettiest girl. I’m sure after Eli Beazley knocks off Jaice Wilds there will be plenty of girls waiting to hop on the Breezy Express.”
Another laugh from Eli.
“Jaice, I am looking forward to our match. We are going to tear down the house on Monday night. APW has no idea what is coming for them! I’ll see you on Monday night. Breezy out.”
And with that the camera fades to black.
