El Muertos is a character of what used to be a man. Torn apart from growing up in the cartel’s war zone El Muertos has seen so much death and misery he’s unable to leave the suffering behind. He trained to be a pro wrestler from a young age he used the sport as an escape from the tortures of everyday life. When only a teenager his parents were shot down caught unfortunately in the crossfire of a very public police raid on the cartel. Although the fear of death is a very real everyday reality nothing prepares a young man to lose his parents. Weeks later, without any security protecting them, his two sisters were kidnapped, leaving El Muertos alone in a cruel unjust world.
The young man slowly lost his mind and self identity searching the streets for his sisters. Becoming one of them, El Muertos took the law into his own hands stopping the crimes of cartel members on three separate occasions. Twice, he became a murderer, although in an act of vigilantism, he now has to live with blood on his hands for the rest of his life. Seeing no future in Mexico he jumped the border to the USA working local wrestling shows whenever he could to make money for food and shelter. He became the personification of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead). Death is not feared but celebrated by the innocent, no longer a man, but the character of the human condition forever suffering. By being death he is closer to the souls taken from his life.
Now in his late 20s he has the opportunity to make it in the big leagues.
